I use 10lb braid bc I have one multi species rod which is that and my catfish rod with 20lb braid both rods are perfect and I catch unlimited fish🤝🏾 find what works for youuuuuu Anglers
When you are teasing crappie out of brush, timber or rip rap you want just heavy enough line that you can straighten out your light wire jig hooks if you hang em up. I use 10 lb maxima chameleon, i would say its comperable to 15lb big game as far as strength
I use 10# braid because of the heavy brushpiles I fish. I run the braid to a 12# mono leader, and 90% of the time if I do get hung up, it breaks at the mono so I’m not re Riggin my whole rig back up, just leader and hook.
No. You take your BIC lighter and take the temper out of only the bend of the hook, so when ya snag up, ya just pull it out...hook straightens out and you'll probably loose your minnow, but you won't disturb the school. Resend, rebait, and get back in there!
Yes sir. I use braid because we fish heavy structure in Texas. I also use that mono leader so when I get hung up in the brush, only the mono leader breaks off. And I have to re tie my mono leader and hook. Not my whole slip cork setup. It works. Go watch a video or two.
@@Outlawdllc u must of took a lil bit of everything growing up. Sorry it got u so upset, to hear someone using a braid for crappie is unheard of but then again I'm not from Texas n also if ur not good with yo aim then I don't recommend a gun. 😂
You must be from up north lol I get this all the time. I am fishing heavy brush piles. If I use 4 pound line I’m breaking off every time I get hung up. Sorry no 4 pound line will not work.
Here is the sense, I am fishing heavy brush piles in this particular video. I am using 10# braid to a mono leader. If I get hung up on the brushpile, which I will. It happens all the time, if I am using 4-6 pound mono, I break off my whole setup every time. Therefore wasting time to retie. When I do get hung up using the line I am using, 90% of the time, I break off the mono to my leader. So all I have to do is retie my mono leader and a hook instead of re-tiein the whole setup. I would assume you are either from up north, or you only bank fish and never get out on the lake and fish heavy brush piles. You wanted some sense, well there it is.
Lol I actually use 10# braid with mono leader. you must live up north. We fish heavy structure in Texas, brushpiles, stumps log jams etc. if I used 4-6 pound mono I would break off every single time I got hung up!
8 lb braid and 4 lb mono or fluorocarbon leader. No need for video game on a fishing boat! Learn how to use your side imaging and leave the video games at the house!
