Here is a good trick for the ice parts (especially usefull in the Death Zone): Hold up or down and use slide when you want to stop sliding immediately, you will just slide directly into the wall and it will stop you from sliding left or right completely.

Did anyone else slowly go crazy doing this level over and over again when you miss that one box and/or fall into the next area after getting the ! box close to the 2nd gem? I think I am. ;/P

I hate this level more than anything in all Crash games. I think I prefer the fucking High Road to this

Shit, I never knew that I was supposed to return to the death route platform after completing it 0_0

To get both clear gems in one go, get the gem at the end of the skull path, don't get the checkpoint, die and then redo the skull path without falling off the end

just a tip. Make sure you have 3 masks in the death route area and then just ram through all the nitros. It will make everything a whole lot easier.

Hey guys! Pro tip: If you make crash use his slide move into the wall the camera is facing it instantly kills all forward sliding momentum. Have fun =)

This level was harder than all the first crash levels in the first game including the death route

This particular level is basically Naughty Dogs (original developers) went full on dick mode. VV did better by making that one box more noticeable in the bonus. The ice physic was not done very well here. (Original had more momentum)

Go me. I did the death route, ran all the way back to get that life box, then back to the end of the death route. That middle finger of iron crates sums up how I feel.

Oh man, as if this gem wasn't hard enough to get. I was coming away with like 114 boxes after farming 99 lives, but didn't realise you've to go back to the start and hop back on the platform. Cheers for this!

You can get a lot of lifes in bee-having, then enter this s**t stage, get to the checkpoint before the death route, then enter the death route, then keep dying somehwere until the game gives you a golden mask when you appear on the checkpoint before the death route. Then get the invincible mask at the death route like the video. (Enter the death route first. After that you can die as many times you want and the death route don´t disappear).

I really love how the skull route music still goes, even when Crash was out from that route.

All I needed to do was to go back to the start of the death route and get back on the platform dammit

*Gets all boxes and completes death route* Clear Gem: “nope” *2 hours later, breaks all boxes and miraculously completes the death route without dying once even on the death and bonus route* Clear Gem: “lol nope” WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO!!!!!?????!!!

Me today: - Complete the death route hitting the damn ! box after many tries. - Forget you have to go out at the start of the area, fall down at the end. - Complete stage, 40-something crates missing. "Hello darkness my old friend..." 🎶

Oh jeez, this level. I actually did okay once I figured it all out (such as having to backtrack, AND having to use the original death platform), but getting there was pretty rough. And it didn't help that the first time I thought I'd finally nailed it, I'd gotten that TNT glitch or whatever.

To waste 30 lives to just get 1 freaking box...Fuck this level.

wouldn't be so bad if the damn skull route didnt force you to backtrack all the way at the end to beginning for one damn box! Luckily i already grabbed the skull route gem so i don't need to jump back down.

Bug at 4:25 - The death route music doesn't change back to the normal level music until the level is completed.

If you by mistake hit the baddie and smash the box, so you can't get the '?' box at the top, you can smash it with a well placed "Slide-jump-spin" attack. It's a bit tricky but it can be done.

For that one missing box. It's the hidden box behind the 2 nitro boxes. Letting the nitros blow it up won't count. You have to physically hit the box for the crate count of 155. I let the nitros blow it up and it didn't work, went back and physically broke it and that was it.

Anyone know how many boxes are in that area hidden by the ice pillars?

Just a question for everyone. When you guys went back after running through the course (death route), did you guys see an another crash bandicoot in the background? In mines, when I'm heading up the metal stairs to go back, I see another crash bandicoot in the background.

It's almost a MUST that you use 3 aku masks for the death route or you're gonna get fucked by those nitro crates.

My favorite snow stage of Crash 2. And its death route is really challenging.

Managed to get everything with 2 lives left. Hit the last checkpoint, hit the ! box to destroy all Nitro boxes. Got one more life for collecting 100 fruits. Died. Start again, got to the end of the level, check boxes, there's 5 missing, what? How? Forgot to hit the fucking ! box again. Went back, but died. 1 more life remaining, hit the damn ! box and managed to get through all by jumping like a maniac, don't even know how i didn't miss any jump and fell into oblivion. Never felt so frustrated and tense in my whole life. Also, fuck the hedgehog and the ice physics in this game.

This level, by playing it just today, took me *over 30 F U C K I N G minutes* just to finish the rest of the stage & get the boxes, if you count the times I lost Aku Aku & had to farm for it, or died before or during the no-death route! Why did ANYONE think this level was OK in the remake, let alone the original!?

I didn't even realise that I had to go BACK to the platform until I finally got through this. What the hell.

The point is make sure you have plenty of life (around 40), and reach to the death path without dying. You can try many time as you want if you reach death path. Just keep dying until the game give you 2 aku aku. Get the 3rd aku aku in the death path.Then, clear all nitro and touch the '!' Box at the end of death path. Finally, make your way back to the begining to death path. At the meantime, clear the last box in the death path. Be careful until reaching the next checkpoint~

Ooooh so you can go back down with the platform? Well now it makes sense because I was wondering how am I supposed to get the boxes in the normal part of the level if I jump down and it teleports me to the second part of the map....

I came to this hoping there was a more practical way of beating the level without going invincible thru the death route but I was sadly mistaken. I honestly had more trouble on this death route than Stormy Acsent. I died 50 times on Stormy Ascent but 90 times here just trying to get out of the death route. Even with invincibility I was still falling in holes because of the ice

Ok wait, so let me get this straght, in the secrete route, you must go though an entire level while destroying every box, then after that, you must BACKTRACK all the way to the platform so it will take you back the normal level to get some MORE boxes to break??? Ok, heres my question... HOW THE HECK WERE PLAYERS SUPPOSE TO FIGER THAT PART OUT?!?!?!?!

You have got to be kidding me, with the no death route I didn’t know you could go back on it, I go through that entire bit, hit the ! Block, go all the way back for that extra life, then went back the same way I originally did and fell down the hole only to now find out you can go back on that block. Well bite me in the alps

This level can go to the deepest, darkest pits of Hell. Buried in a mountain of salted, lemon juice drenched glass shards.

I screamed like a banshee when I fell down the end after hitting the !-box and knowing I forgot that one box

I forgot to activate the TNT beside the penguin. Why did I forget to activate the TNT beside the penguin!?😭

The first time I tried this level for this gem I was so frustrated I couldn’t do it. I got the 2nd instead and beat the level with it no problem and came back a different day to start fresh and got this level done on my 2nd attempt. I couldn’t believe it. I guess all that practice paid off. The key here the video doesn’t say is really if you don’t start the level with a mask you must get to the death level without getting hit once (level 2 Aku) and then make it all the way to the 3rd mask so that you can turn invincible. Then you must use that like the video shows to get to the end of the death level (don’t fall off the end) and spin that box. Then you just have to get back out of the death level without dying or you will need to start the entire level over again so that you can get invincible. Now all I have left to do is piston it away for my 100%!!

Never give up, guys. That’s the real key. It’s all about memory. Be sure to get the third “huba” bonus, though, helps a whole ton. I have just done it. Took almost an hour. Have faith.

Fuck "that box", fuck that "ONE FUCKING BOX", I could never 100% the original Crash 2 as a child due to it!

What if I completed the death route and got the gem without knowing that I have to return back ... and after reloading the level i can't enter the death route again ... is there a way to get to the death route another time?

How do i unlock the death path?

It's levels like this where I stop caring about getting all the gems and just want to finish the games story.

Did all this, took about an hour, and then get to the end and I've missed one bloody box!
