Thank you for posting! It makes sense, honestly. From what I read Coco as an interchangeable character was a last minute inclusion designed during one of those 72 hour challenges. So it would make sense they would have to omit some of the more complicated ones.

Well what do you think is worse? Seeing a comical BOY bandicoot in his heart shaped pink boxers or seeing a LITTLE GIRL bandicoot stripped in her panties? Apart from the possibility of it being too perverted I'm kind of bummed out that they made a majority of Coco's death animation a simple "turn into an angel" animation.
Mike Anthony Comical girl bandicoot* Both would be equally funny, if you take Coco's underwear as perverted you might as well take Crash's the same way.
Except with Crash its more comical because that's part of his character. Coco (at least during the first few games) has always been the little girl of the series. Crash is practically a teenager in these games. Coco is much younger not to mention I doubt the ranting system would take to kindly to a little girl being stripped of her clothing and left in her panties. Crash is much older while Coco is still a innocent little girl.
If I may use a line from Zero Punctuation, it's probably for the obvious(?) reason of wanting to avoid turning any more kids into sexual outcasts with Deviantart accounts.
I love that after getting sliced by the sword he turns around and glares at you annoyingly as his top half just slides off while his foot continues to tap.
It's pretty hard for people to play it as comedic without getting whiny SJWs shouting "Violence towards women!". That's usually why if it is for comedy, it'll be female vs. female, and even then, it's nowhere near as common as male slapstick. Sucks, but makes examples like this stand out all the more, though.
The Bendy Above All - It's not even this specifically, but just overall it's messed up how often dudes get mutilated for comedic purposes over females. You hear all this talk about girl power/equality and every female has to play the badass hero but when it comes time for someone to get owned there's no females lining up for that...
It is kinda lame that Coco doesn't get as many death animations as Crash. I can understand the one where he gets his pants cut off, funny for him, sexualized for her, but they totally could have made it where he cuts her ponytail off! That would have been great!
I want equality. But this is not equal... Crash took the hit more than coco. I understand coco is too young and devs can't simply shred her clothing. (i'm not okay with that tbh) But the problem is, coco should've taken the same death animation as crash, except those deemed inappopriate. She has too many angel death animation.
I can't judge the gameplay (though as I'm a fan of Legend of Spyro, the shift to combat wouldn't be as big a deal for me), but IMO Titans and MoM got screwed over by how they utterly ruined the characterization. Which is sad as Titans were actually a pretty freaking logical conclusion of the Evolvo-Ray in the 'super soldier animals' department.
Sounds very obvious why no Coco version, but the main reason why there are lots of missing death animations is that the devs ran out of time to cover all of them.
Well, i wouldn't call it weird at all, Their "death animations" is very reminiscent of old cartoon slapstick from the likes of Tom and Jerry and the Looney Tunes which are classics and love by billions of people.
Crash and Polar both with halos is just so cute! I also love how Coco’s holding her laptop as she’s going up to Heaven, like: “I’m taking it with me!” Also, I get why some of Crash’s couldn’t be used for Coco. Like when the Arabian sword guy cuts Crash and then chuckles when Crash is left standing in his underwear … for that, they could’ve had him cut Coco’s hair instead, and she gets all upset? ^^
I think I understand. The blender underwhater suggests ... ouchie! And the incineration ones. Wonder if the japanese still are sensitive with their "heads on shoes"-killer ...
The Anime Conquistador Coco is portrait still as a child in this games and some Crash death are kinda brutal for her character so maybe thats why, i mean in series like Pokemon, Digimon or Drake and Josh bad things usually happens to the big brother, not the little sister.
+Antdog 902 No it's not. The old one his lower body just walked away from the rest of his body (if you were close to a hole, your legs could actually walk into it and fall down ;) ). In the new animation, his upper body just falls over.
With this new animation it looks like the animators had no idea of what they were doing, Because he gets cut in half and his legs are in place, but he's still looking like "excuse me" at his legs. Which makes sense when his legs are walking away.
My favourite death is the genie trap from Crash Warped at 5:48. I had a thought of what would happen to Crash after that. I thought that if he came out of the magic jar after a long time, he would appear as a genie bandicoot.
