Ok to clarify as I've literally just done this level for the first time about 5 mins ago, I died a few and missed 6 boxes but I did get all the Cortex faces and fully completed his bonus area. I was awarded the trophy and got the key so it would appear that's actually all you need to do. Hope that helps anybody trying to do this entire level without dying.
ShadyKray's #SHADYPLAYS! I completed the level without picking the key but i got t all the boxes and the clear gem but now i am going for the key . I picked the key but in the end disappears and dosent counts.i shld pick the key and the clear gem together?to get the key?
Jaijai311 i got the key now and the platinum all u have to do is collect all boxes till u pick the key and in the last part theres like 8 boxea dont break them just complete the level then u will be taken to boxes misses screen aand the key will be counted.
It happened to me too with the key. I got all the boxes and the key, got to the end and only got credit for the gem. I played it again, did the bonus again, got the key, finished the level, and then it showed up…. Not sure why.
I don't understand how people struggled with this level compared to The Lost City. That one had me raging. It took me until I had 99 lives to finally get the green gem..

@@juiceb0xmemes Slippery Climb is pretty easy if you know what you’re doing. The High Road isn’t that bad either. Road To Nowhere is just fucking aids on a stick as most of it is pure luck based, Sunset Vista can be quite difficult but only towards the very end when you have the last platforming part. I would always miss and come tumbling down and have to restart the time trail. Very frustrating levels. When you’re playing through them normally though they aren’t that bad because you have as much time as you want to complete them so you can just relax and take your time.
If you're unable to get the key in Sunset Vista, play the entire level but don't collected all the boxes. Miss at least 1 box (but obviously get the key). Then when you finish you'll go to the end-of-level screen and it'll say you missed a box, then you'll return to the island with the key collected! You can die and still get they key.
If you are trying to get the gold relic or better then you won't be able to die at all on this level to achieve the gold relic. Not only would you not have to die but you would have to do it super fast and not die 😢
I came here specifically for the jump off of the enemy at 7:31. I was expecting him to try jumping to the next platform from the enemy, but I see he made sure he landed on the platform he was above first. There seems to be an invisible ceiling between the platforms, or it seems so. Every time I try to jump off the enemy, to the next platform, the arch in my jump is obstructed and I don’t believe this occurred in the original.
So I got the gem without picking up the key but when I go back into the mission and get the key, it won't give me it anymore. Someone please help if anyone else is having the same problem
Carl Capricorn Hey! I have the same problem and i miss one box and now i get key. If you miss 1 or more boxes you will get it too. Sorry, my English isn't very good :D
At least you can die in this level and still get the gem. Screw lost city and Native Fortress the only two levels that gave me problems oddly enough slippery climb wasn't that bad
I think you have to beat the bonus in one try. I played before and died once or twice and didn't get it but when I was able you complete it without dying in the bonus round, I was able to get it
Huh, I did the cortex part through a glitch. I couldn't get enough momentum to jump from the last box. But if you jump on the side of TNT it doesn't get triggered. So basically jump on the straight corners of the crate.
Pointer for anyone who has a difficult time getting through without falling a thousand times for no reason. Use the arrow buttons instead of the left joystick. Youre welcome in advance.
I think my game is glitched, I got all boxes received the white gem, completed both bonus areas, made sure I picked up the key which made a sound as I picked it up and still doesn't give me the key at the end of the level.
How do you get the first Cortex face? Watched this through and we’ve done exactly the same but those invisible crates don’t turn visible no matter what we do. Really frustrating when we’re doing everything exactly the same.
I finished this level many times, but I didn’t get key in the map. I always took all boxes, when passed this level. Last time I didn’t take all boxes and i died, but i took the key!!! I think, if you have gem yet, you don’t need take all boxes and not die. May be it help somebody
I swear the 2:11 mark is glitched. That jump to the fire platform rarely works for me. It's as if something above me is blocking my jump, like im bumping my head agaisnt something up higher when im trying to jump and it blocks my movement...but of course there is nothing there at all. The platform is not in the way when I'm making my jump, yet still, it falls short. This level is among the least fun things in nay videogame ever

To get the gem 💎 you have to break all the boxes 📦 To get a key 🔑 and a gem u have to get all the boxes without dying, meaning u have to do the whole level without loosing a life otherwise u have to start again
Dose anyone know if you need to be logged in for the key-trophy to pop...? I got both keys, but neither of the trophies...😞 i dont have an online account, dose that mean i will not be abel to get the trophy?
Update: all you have to do is get the three cortex drops and you get the trophy at the end of the mission. (Just got the key and got all boxes and died a few times) thanks for the reply Jack.
You have to collect all cortex drops and get all boxes in the same playthrough. I died a few times and got the trophy at the ending screen. Let me know how you get on.
