For those who are wondering why this is no longer on Disney+ (they pulled this movie from the platform for tax credit reasons so that they don't have to pay residuals to the cast and the production team who worked on this film)
And people say leaving media on the Cloud is the future... Ironic that if not for piracy, entire movies can become lost media in the 21st millennium so easily.
Didn't think this was going to be that good, but man this really choked me up and nearly had me close to balling. The ending leaves an ache in your heart but it's the type of ache that makes you think of all the beauty in the world and the value of friendship. Truly beautiful ❤
Same here! I started watching it expecting the story to be a light coming of age plot with a touch of hq scifi. It turned out to be so much more. I was pleasantly surprised with how heartfelt this movie was, right from the beginning all the way to the ending. Definitely a great finding.
What an awesome movie. As many have said, the ending was sad. Found myself choking up. It's like one of those kid adventure movies that I grew up with. Great job Disney.
This looks 💯 times better than the Soulless remake of Peter Pan and Wendy movie, maybe even a 1000 times better than it. I'd like to see more original stuff like this from Disney in Cinema.
I am so upset I didn't get a chance to watch this! Disney pulled Crater permanently from what I have heard.. sounds like it was a lot better than Disney thought it was.. maybe everyone should sign a petition to bring it back so we all can have a chance to enjoy it!!!! I'll be the first to sign the petition... Any other takers?
I doubt that will work as they really didn't promote the movie themselves so they didn't even believe in it once they probably saw the final product. Same happened with strange new world
This was actually a really good original FAMILY movie, shame it was quietly dropped on streaming and even more quietly removed from D+, meanwhile they are spending millions promoting franchises that already have a fan base of people that will still watch regardless of the dwindling quality and without the advertising campaigns.
they’d rather promote movies/shows that DON’T promote FAMILY values like Turning Red, Ms Marvel, Moana, Encanto, and waayyyyyy more. Disney is in its radical woke era. Now is the time we look to Dreamworks animation. I heard a new Croods movie is in the making. Now THAT is a family.
I am amazed how Disney+ did not push me to watch it. I only heard about it after reading an article that explained how the Crater was removed as part of a greater decision on various streaming platforms.
@@1337_bean... How is Moana woke? That's one I haven't heard yet. Haven't heard Encanto either but I guess that could be stretched if you don't like the muscular sister.
I couldn't imagine that a group of friends having adventures on the moon and discovering things would leave me in tears as the story unfolded. It's the group of friends I've always wanted to have. Added to Favorites. ✅ 10/10 movie.
I watched it, and it was so damn good. The actors, the script, the setting, it’s all so beautiful. I never cry because of movies but this one was just so sad but beautiful at the same time. And the ending, just chefs kiss. Hands down my favourite Disney movie.
Its on apple tv so not fully wasted but i certainly agree, this movie did not deserve this treatment, out of any other movie, this is the one thats taken off, i watched it on a website last night, i really enjoyed the project and how it came out, this movie was just so good lol, im glazing but i mean with what i say lol
I loved it, i cried and i recommend it for everyone. Its beautiful, i wasn't expecting it to be such a good, great movie. Wish for more movies like this, please watch it guys, this movie deserves it.
I heard nothing about this movie until this morning when I read it has been REMOVED from Disney+ after just seven weeks because it "underperformed" with audiences. Absolutely insane behaviour that is too common today, and disrespectful to audiences as well as the cast and crew of these movies and shows that are being memory holed and used as a tax write-off instead. It's the exact opposite of what streaming services are allegedly meant for, so now I'm going to make it my business to download Crater illegally and watch it.
Hard to believe this is a Disney project, with such a skid-stained track record as of late. First trailer in a few years that gets me feeling like I used to when their movies were something to get excited about.
I watched it, it was pretty good. Dialogue could've been written better, but overall the concept is really cool and the end hits you right in the feels. What a talented young cast too. Guess anyone who stumbles upon this after July 1 will never know.
saw it was impressed with the production and Disney going for this type of movie. Ending was beautiful. Was almost a Passengers with Chris Pratt but kid version
.....why is this trailer still here? You realise you're advertising something that doesn't exist, which is illegal in many, many countries around the world?
Done watching this. I felt sad when Caleb woke up, his in Omega and didn't say goodbye to Dylan, Addison, Broney and Marcus. Then Dylan on recorder telling everything that happened, his voice changing (evidence that they're growing up) 😭 I hope they have photos together, 5 of them.
Looks good? The comments got you wanting to check it out? Well too bad. You can't. Disney pulled it from their platform after a month and a half. It's gone forever.
"I do not make films for children... or, at least, not primarily for children." "You're dead if you aim for kids." "We design the films to appeal to ourselves." "The adults have the money; ... children don't have any money." - Walt Disney
The problem is that, in the years and decades since his death, Walt Disney's name has been slapped on just so much cheap and trashy kiddie fare that anything like this is going to look like DCOM garbage that only prepubescent girls will watch.
Not bad pretty good and I like that it’s original. Disney hasn’t done an Original for a long time and I like that it was clean and not a lot of stupid stuff in it. Also not too bad of a sci-fi, considering they don’t do that too often either now, if we could just get them to remake the black hole movie, they could have another epic science-fiction movie on their hands.
...and when he say classic Disney with imagination and originality, it means inoffensive and less intrusive political messaging that cater to one specific demographic. Good to see they are finally listening to the market.
I love the part where the boy says "They say... hope begins in the dark. But most just flail around in the blackness searching for their destiny. The darkness, for me, is where I shine."
The gall of Disney to remove this but leave the trailer up. Let this live as an example that if you can’t own digital content, then 🏴☠️ ing digital content isn’t stealing.
For me, at the ending is what makes this movie worth to watch. Imagine, you grew up with your family/friends... you are close to them... suddenly you need to cyro sleep for years. When you woke up, its been like decades or century or centuries. What makes its more sad, your family/friends did some recording for you. Man. So sad. 😢
