Every now and again I visit this cover. No one else did it as much justice as Aaron Lewis. This is iconic and the number of views show that.

Aaron Lewis singing this tribute to Chester was incredible. Aaron has a genuine pain in his voice that made these lyrics hit home hard. Battling depression is an awful thing. It's like fuckin trying to breathe underwater. Overwhelming thoughts that you can't ever seem to get away from, self hatred, suicidal thoughts, etc. Fuck Depression!!!!!!

Man... I don't know why, but after knowing this song so many years, I'm only just now really HEARING the lyrics. So often on shitty mainstream songs about breakups or whatever, you always see comments like "Omg you can feel the pain in these words" and things like that. Why not this song? Why not Chester? Someone should have seen the emotional shape the man was in from his lyrics. 😞

My little brother took his life late in 2020 and loved Aaron Lewis and I’ve always loved Godsmack. Something we both loved though was Park. Chester we loved you bro and seeing Sully and Aaron come together just has my knees week and balling like a baby. This really hit home for me and I thank you. I’m sure my little brother does as well. This is the Aaron Lewis I miss. There aren't any fake country accents and lyrics. It's just him singing from the heart like he used to with Stained. Out of all the tributes I've seen this is my favorite one because it really seems genuine in a multitude of ways.
