I have an older version of this that I got when I was little and I never made swirly crayons. I always just picked broken crayons of the same colour to remake solid crayons.

The best thing is to wipe it off when it is still a little warm. I got it pretty clean just by scraping the old crayon off with a chop stick :) The wood ones with the square ends.

Not weird at all, it is important to keep that inner child because if you ever have kids, they will love the fact you can enjoy a toy and play with them.

As someone who's going down their penny-related Memory Lane, I actually had this as a kid. It may be, like, preschool-level me, though I think i used it once. I don't think it had a bulb, so I was just sitting there with my wrapped crayons in the machine, waiting for them to spontaneously combine.

I am a Retired Illustrator from the BOEING CO. in Seattle, and am getting back into art, and found one of these machines on Ebay for $19.00 delivered, so as to be able to make Bees wax crayons for my watercolor resist's, and along with my liquid frisket, will be able to keep whites white and wax being easier to apply, will add to my creativity! The white artist crayons cost $2.95 for just five, and I feel that this machine will accommodate my need for finer line crayons, and save me money as well! The large and chunky crayons I have made a couple months ago, are about 5/8 inch in diameter, and 3 1/2 inches long. But their size does not allow for fine line resist work, so....Instant small crayolas! Wish me luck!

We got this thing for Christmas one year, way back. I remember being so happy with the crayons I made. I still have it sitting in a closet, I don't know if I have all the parts still. I might try using it again once I get back from Hawaii.

I got this like 2 Christmas's ago and I made a lot of them but you ave to wipe the tray as soon as you take it out. Also, it's faster to put the crayons in the freezer to cool it faster

You can do this using all kinds of random molds in your oven. My cousin and I used mini muffin trays when I helped him make them for people. (He gave them out to our family as gifts. It was adorable.)
