The Chevy Gibson Les Paul is for me, the most iconic car / guitar related product. The red one, which has a kind of vent style carving on the body. Also yes, the firebird has the connection by the designer being someone who designed automobiles. Tbh the firebird custom in black is the Cadillac of the guitar world for me…. It’s so clean!!!
Great video! Gibson has a long history racing with NASCAR. Being from the American South where NASCAR started, I would see a lot of them growing up. Before Nashville Superspeedway opened, drivers raced for years at the local 1/2 mile short track at the Nashville Fairgrounds. In the 80s and 90s winners would receive a custom acoustic guitar from Gibson, usually one of the new Chet Atkins models they were now making. NASCAR also commissioned Sam Bass to make custom Les Pauls for racing legends Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty. I've seen a few here at museums and guitar shows.
This is super awesome, not a lot of people actually know about this, I am very much in to cars also so I knew much of this and I think its cool.. as always you have done a really professional research before making this video, which make your videos really high quality... thank you very much :D
@@DressedInBlack Yeah I know about Gibson and Chevrolet collaborations, I know there is several of those, I am sure if you google it you will find quite a lot about it, and I remember those guitars looks pretty damn fantastic.. try find information about it and include it in a video, it would be fun :D. thank you.. :D
@@DressedInBlack I know I had several brochures about some of those guitars, during this week I will go to my storage and try to find some of those ,maybe I can't but if I can I can maybe some how take pictures of the information and send it to you maybe by email ?
I'm definitely down for a deep dive with you! 😜 These are projects I've known about for a long time, but it is cool info and I'm sure many of your viewers will enjoy learning about them.
Sorry for the late reply, I've had a busy couple of weeks. But in the early 2000's an American custom truck builder named Stacey David did some fantastic collaborations with Gibson guitars built specifically for the theme of the builds. I think your viewers may enjoy these. Rock on!
