Isn’t it a bad thing to catch big lobsters like that. Their old so they don’t taste good but that makes them good breeders which means they will be more successful in breeding females. I think female lobsters are more attracted to bigger claws lol
That's probably cause you know nothing about food... In France, we would flambé the claw with pastis or cognac, serve it on a nice and light bed of seasoned salad with a bit of home made mayonnaise and a nice glass of white wine... Americans just dip the entire thing in melted butter like a 6 year old, eats it like a pig and then wonder why they get fat... I've rarely seen such an uncultured country about food.

@@fishingwithrick3991 70 to 80$ to buy into the buffet. Get the warm crabs legs that are freshly boiled instead of the cold ones on top of the ice trey. It much better with warm butter.

My Uncle, received a crate of Australian lobster tails for coming in on his day off, to repair a ship in San Pedro, at the shipyard we both worked at. The crate contained 144 tails, we feasted, all summer. I never knew that cold lobster was so good. Especially when grilled over mesquite coals, then chilled. Still my favorite way, also with scrambled eggs, for breakfast. 😊
Ya, just like the Indians(India natives) who ate tons of ghee until they decided that big food industries in the USA had their best interests at heart. Their cholesterol went down and their heart disease went WAY up. Wake up folks
Butter ain't the problem although it doesn't help. You need to worry about what's in the actual shrimp lobster crab and crayfish themselves tons of bad cholesterol. 3 jumbo shrimp have more cholesterol then a 1 lb chuck roast. That stuff tastes so good but it is really bad for you
My mom dated this guy named Jeff who weighed like 400lbs. He ate over 40 lobsters at a buffet & almost had to call the cops because he got belligerent after they cut him off

Also…you don’t get kicked out for staying for an hour at a buffet. 1 hour is usually the standard time people spend when they go out to eat ANYWHERE. If YOU take less than 1 hour to eat in a restaurant then YOU must be swallowing your food before it even hits the table.
My mom is from Maine and she told me that the state used to feed the prisoners lobster because lobster at the time was considered bottom tier food. But it’s soooo good 🦞
I was in Prince Edward Island and my friend there told us that children would trade their lobster for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because having lobster for lunch labeled you as being poor
same for many other foods that was considered off cuts or left overs or things those too poor to buy from regular shops would have to find. then somewhere down the line it became a delicacy
i lived in Key West for years, and we ate so much lobster, shrimp, scallops, tuna, mahi mahi, etc that it was crazy. And yes, if you were poor, you grabbed a mask, snorkel, and tickle stick with a net and swam out a little ways, and caught your lobster.
I was just in vegas last week and had the buffet at the palms. I guarantee you're not gonna find anything that size Anywhere anywhere nowhere they're not that Big none of them 😂
What I love about eating crabs over lobster is crab meat doesn’t need butter to taste phenomenal. Also I’m bias because I grew up in Baltimore eating crabs. Louisiana might have the same crabs but boiled crabs are trash compared to steamed. The fat stay in steamed crabs which add a sweeter flavor over boiled crabs where the fat just leaks into the surrounding water.
Lobsters used to be cheap prison food, because they were so plentiful, they also called lobster poor mans chicken. They made laws saying they couldn't feed inmates lobster more, than once a week because it was considered cruel and unusual punishment.
It's so refreshing seeing seafood that's not fully submerged with pounds of the overly exaggerated Old Bay seasoning. Garlic, herbs and Butter sauce is truly my way to go!
@tanikokishimoto1604 I get it, people don't like it on lobster but lobster by itself is so bland in my opinion and some old bay with a side of drawn butter is nice. I do enjoy a heavy portion on my crabs though
@@thingfish000 I don't know what their menu is for the rest of the week, but it's common for restaurants to use leftover stuff to make into next day's soup or other items that can continue to be used for longer.
I don't know that's why they throw the small lobsters back and the big giant ones can't even enter the traps. Climate change could wipe them out, if the water temperatures get too warm, that's what's going on in Alaska with king crab, nothing to do with overfishing.

I've eaten 1 lobster in my lifetime. Someone else bought it for me, and I could never afford one. Still can't, and i just had my 59th birthday. I would love to try one again. Had my first one when I was 21.

I don't know where you live, but I find it hard to believe that you could never figure out how to afford a frozen lobster from the grocery store. That's a lot of life to never be able to afford 1 lobster tail.
