Don’t think we can trade a Casio G-Shock up to a Rolex? We’ll, we already succeeded...
At least at getting the first trade. If you watched our very own Natalie’s watch collection video ( • Natalie's Watch Collec... ), you know that she started a trading game. She wants to use her first watch, a white G-Shock, to start trading up to progressively more expensive pieces. This is nothing new. In 2006, Canadian blogger Kyle MacDonald traded his up from a single paperclip (yes, it was red!) to a house. It took him just 14 trades over the course of a year to do it! When you consider that feat, transforming a Casio into a Rolex watch or better doesn’t seem that hard to do!
The main two questions to answer in all of this are:
1) How many trades will it take for this to happen? And
2) How long will it take Natalie to do it?
Right off the bat, she hit the ground running, getting a trade for a Seiko 5 Sports on day 1! We added a poll about this in our Community Section, asking people whether the second trade should be an Omega Mission to Pluto or a Tissot PRS 516.
