Russia, a perennial hockey powerhouse, over a desert country that almost never gets below freezing. What a shock. Almost as impressive as a USA basketball win over Guatemala (average male height - 5' 4")
@@jaxonsloan27 The National Championship was played between the Dawgs and the Buckeyes. Ironically, Georgia vs. Alabama in the 2012 SEC championship was the actual national championship game, which came down to GA needing 2 yards to score a TD and win, but the clock ran out. Alabama then went on to beat Notre Dame like a rented drum set in the official game.
May 17, 1979 to be exact. Also, it was in 10 innings. That game is known both for it's score and for Dave Kingman's three home runs, two of which were moonshots, including one that went well over 500 feet.
@@roygoodhand1301 I certainly did not remember the exact date! I also did not remember that Kingman had 3 homers that game. (I certainly would've guessed he had at least one though!) I did remember that it was a 10 inning game. I remember that Mike Schmidt had 2 homers (I believe 1 in the 10th). I remember that the score was 7-6 after the 1st inning. And I remember that they rebroadcast the game a day or 2 later in Philly on Ch 17 (WPHL). I don't remember the reasoning for that though. At that time, they televised all of the away games, and only televised the Sunday home games. So since it was in Chicago, they should have televised the original game live. 45 yrs ago, so my memory could be mistaken though. :)
And the Russians weren't even trying, they were basically doing drills the whole game "pass, pass, pass, shoot....", they'd even wait for the Turkish team to set up first and still...
The softball league in my area had a mercy rule which was, I believe, a 9 point differential in the 5th inning and the game is over. The team at my high school got super happy when they made it to the 6th inning... once.
This was a great video! I would like to see a part 2 in the future, which I would like to see include Georgia’s whooping of TCU and the time last year when the Penguins smashed the Red Wings 11-2(A game I attended!! It was soo much fun!!).
Well, I think the 2022 Broncos coulda gotten on here when they went against the 49ers. It was an 11-10 victory, and if I remember correctly, that was the second time in NFL history that a game ended with that score. Coulda also added the Broncos vs. Rams Christmas game last season too, but... I'm still trying to block that memory.
@@gwalker3776 Winning is not what it's all about. If you don't see it, I guess you just don't see it. I'm not in on trophies for all, that shouldn't be done, that just dumbs American children out of their learning years. Win at all cost doesn't work, it is a bad model for kids. That's all we do now, I feel so bad for my grandkids, and I was part of the problem I know now. Fixing it in America or anywhere in the world seems as far away as a telescope can see, there is no help there either. It's all on us know one followed what their mind was telling them to do when it was time to live and not fight. Today fighting is the only option, I trained to fight in the military, why do we want that for our kids? It's something you only understand as you get older, It's a blessing and a curse at the same time in today's world.
I want expecting the Pacers-Blazers game from 1998 where the final score was 124-59, the only time an NBA team has ever doubled their opponents' output.
A lot of those pitches looked like they were pitching for the annual home run derby, I understand different pitches, but there was like 10% effort in them
Titus Jr got chewed out by his own team for hitting a grand slam when they had the lead and you're telling me ol dudes third homer of a 25-6 lead was a grandslam?
Obvious omission: Chicago Bears 73, Washington 0 in the 1940 championship game. Not sure, but I expect there would be at least newsreel coverage of the largest margin of victory ever in NFL history. Cheers....
The refs' refusal to call the clear safety in the Patriots / Raiders game to put the score over 60 is one of the biggest travesties in the history of human sports smh
How do you score 40 in a hockey game?? For reference that's like 200- 250 in basketball, 50 in baseball, 30 in soccer/football, or 100 in American football
