Met up with Charles of youtube channel: HOOKEM IN THE MOUTH KAYAK FISHING for a little kayak fishing action in Simpsons Creek - Jacksonville, FL. We threw all artificials with most success coming off the Gulp curly tail grubs. Way more fish caught than shown in this video but everything was a little too small. Still an action-filled day and tons of fun!

I think on that trip most fish were too small or barely legal keeper size. So just threw them all back because already had some fish at home👍

Nothing but nostalgia when seeing this place... my dad and I used to go every weekend when we had a kayak. Haven’t been in probably 6-7 years but he just renewed his fishing license so hoping to get back there soon! We would usually hit the inshore slam almost every time which would make for a nice dinner!

Is this north or south of kayak Amelia? Any issues peddling through at low tide?

This was south. There are definitely some low areas, especially on a negative low tide. You might even have to get out and pull the kayak by hand through the sandbars in a couple spots at deadlow tide.

I’m def no expert but general, you’d want to bounce it along. Cast it out, wait for it to hit bottom, then do a single or double twitch/bounce. Reel in a little slack, then let it sink again to the bottom. Then just repeat until the you’ve reeled it back to you. Hope that helps!
