I was thinking the same thing. Having loud music over footage of them jumping does such a disservice to relaying the intensity of the actual event. It's just a cheap way to try to get the audience pumped up.
Last guy was a seasoned pro it seemed. Confident and reassuring to everyone. We should all be so lucky to have a friend like that when we’re terrified.

That triggered my vertigo more than any video I have seen. Just watching the bearded guy shuffling round the rim was bad, but when he jumped the fear that the filmer would be pulled off balance by not letting go in time was awful. But I could not stop watching. Very impressed by the precision landing.
The first time I ever jumped, whilst climbing out on to the wheel strut, "what if I fall" crossed my mind. Then I realized I had a parachute on and I was going to fall anyway.🤣
The most terrifying part for me was when they were walking in opposite direction circling the chimney, I thought OMG if one of them leans too far back and falls inside the chimney it's all over. Spectacular video, it was probably more terrifying to some of us watching than to those guys haha
That bit turned my stomach as well lol. I don't mind being high up as long as I'm safe, say like on buildings rooftops or something, but being that high on a tiny chimney top is something I would never even attempt. Takes balls bigger than mine too attempt that lol.

No seriously if he fell into the chimney he ain't walking back out. Why because for one he would be falling most likely upside down or at least back to front in an awkward position if he was to manage deploying his parachute it probably is not going to do anything because physics. If he falls upright them maybe if he is lucky but i doubt it.
I despise heights of any sort, I forced myself to watch this and I yelled at the screen the majority of the time wondering why anyone would do this? Then I remembered, we all need to feel alive at times, how that's achieved is subjective. Good on you for chasing your passion and thanks for sharing.
@Joseph Conrad Good point. Was also wondering about the risk of arrest for the jumpers. Do the police track them down after doing these stunts? I hope not but I've read it happens. Probably worth the rush.
These POV videos always show that sense of relief from the cameraman when the chute opens. It acknowledges the danger, anxiety, risk and the uncertainty of this sport. Yet, balanced with ecstasy, fun and sense of accomplishment. Many of the ingredients for a good life concentrated into a few minutes.

Just standing up and walking around the rim of a chimney with no ropes blows my mind, I have vertigo just standing at the top of the stairs in my house leaves me disorientated . That's some bonkers yet (don't have the words ) astounding courage to have that sport as an adrenaline hit. may all your jumps land safe on two feet. Would've been useful for the uploader to have provided the location of the jump in the details section, to spare viewers the trouble of having to work it out for themselves.

@@kakudmi cant open properly inside the chimney, chances are hitting the sides, tumbling and getting wrapped up in the chute aside from it not actually opening properly. These parachutes are somewhat flying wings as well as slowing descent, so they can maneuver. They cant do forward movement in a chimney, they would drop like a sack.

I know exactly where this is: Switzerland, east of the Geneva lake, in the west of the canton of Valais, there is this factory thing uphill from a town called Aigle. I recognized it because of the mountains and what I think is the lake on some of the perspectives. Very cool location
Ahh, to be young and immortal again. When I was a young man (80s & 90s), I climbed every tower, crane and scaffold that I saw and was completely unaffected by height while walking as casually as these guys up there. Now as an old fart, just watching this made me poop a little .
That's interesting. In the 80s, 90s I was climbing free solo. And now I am afraid of heights and got a panick attack on a trail at the top of a cliff. I just can't understand it. Does ageing do that to many people?

My last job I was harnessed into an order picker and had my heart racing and legs shaking being 30 feet up in the air in a warehouse. You guys are walking around chimney stacks and casually hopping off like NBD.
That's what I was thinking. They're up there with the intention to jump and have the chutes for it, but I can't imagine your chute operating properly falling down that chimney, and who knows what waits for you at the bottom.
The thing that concerned me the most was not the jump but the chimney itself. I think if you would fall into the chimney, the parachute might not save you.
Back in 2016 myself and my best bud took off for a few weeks driving around the southwest of the USA. We are from Vancouver, Canada. We were just driving around with no plan, just driving back roads and making our way around to different national parks. We ended up in Twin Falls Idaho. It was July so it was pretty hot. As we got into the area we came towards a bridge. As we drove over it I mentioned to my buddy that I think this is the bridge where all the base jumpers jump from. I think its legal I said to him to do it here. Anyways we decide to drive down to the river below to try to cool down. Note to self, its at least 10 degrees warmer in a valley than up top, so that wasnt a good idea. We were down on a dock chilling and dipping our legs in to cool down when I noticed at the bridge some people on the side. I told my buddy to look up, just then someone jumped. When the shoot opened, the sound was like a shotgun, it was loud. We sat there watching the people jump for maybe another 10, 15 minutes. It was pretty cool, I had never seen anything like that before. So we are just chilling thinking about what to do when a pontoon boat comes cruising up to the dock. We didnt think anything of it until they pulled up and saw all the jumpers who just jumped from the bridge in the boat. I think there was 4 or 5 of them. They all hopped off, we said hi, yata yata kind of stuff. The lady driving the boat said hi, we said hi as she tied off and then she went to go grab something in the lot. When she came back she asked what we were doing, we said not much, just cooling off. She asked if we wanted to come hang out on her boat and have some beers. Of coarse we said yes. So we hopped on. And shoved off. She said she was retired military and that this was what she did all spring, summer and fall. She would go out on the river everyday and cruise up and down the river and that she had designated herself as the official base jumper picker upper boat. This was pretty cool. She said she was going to pop over and wait for the jumpers. She asked if that was cool, we said absolutely. So we cruised over to underneath the bridge, she said grab a beer from the cooler and watch the show, so thats what we did. For the next 5 hours we sat there hanging out with Cathy on her boat, drinking beers while she picked up the jumpers from the shore. We got to hang out with the jumpers as they jumped and waited for everyone to be picked up. They were all super cool and chill. One guy was on acid and jumping. I thought that was kind of crazy but who am I to judge. So after they packed it in jumping, Cathy asked if it was cool if we went up river towards the falls. We said absolutely. She said she always checked the river before nightfall to make sure everything was cool and no one needed help or was stuck. So we started bombing up the river, it was really perfect. It was warm, my best buddy, free beer, a cool "butch" military chick giving us a free tour. It was perfect. So we start coming towards the falls and got really close, Cathy asked if we wanted a picture of me and my bud in front of the falls. We said sure. We both held up our beers and smiled while she took the picture. Right as she took it I noticed something funny. There was a boat to our left and the guy was looking intensely at the water. I guess Cathy knew the guy because he looked over at us and we all knew immediately that something was wrong. I looked over to the falls and if you've ever been there, you can walk across the front of the falls where there is rocks. It looked pretty chill from where we were and I believe it is common for people to walk across the falls as there we people doing this. But after looking at the guy in the boat next to us I immediately looked back to the falls and saw 2 or 3 people staring down at the water where the falls were dumping into the river. I knew right away that someone had fallen in the water. A person had in fact just fallen in right as we pulled up. We had just missed it. We were having our picture taken as this poor guy below us was drowning. As soon as we knew someone was in the water we immediately started looking too. It went from one of the coolest, chill days I can remember, to absolute panic in trying to find this guy. We were all looking at the water in the hopes he would pop up. I would guess from the time we knew that he was in the water to when we started looking was maybe 45 seconds. After maybe another minute I thought I saw him come up. Unfortunately it was just his hat and then a second later a flip flop sandal popped up. I said maybe he will pop up too to everyone. Unfortunately, he never popped back up. We stayed there until it was almost dark looking for him. The people on the falls were all friends of the guy who drowned. His cousin was the one behind him when he fell and tried to grab him. We was unable to hold on and he fell in. He said he had on a backpack. When they did find him, 3 day later, he still had the backpack on. We had spoken with the police and told them what we knew. They contacted us when they did find him to let us know that they did recover his body. His cousin on the shore was devastated. It was really sad. They had to slow the falls way up river to slow the falls where he had fallen in so the current would release him. It was such a surreal day. From an amazing memory of fun and excitement to absolute panic and dread. Well anyway, thats my story about base jumpers. Stay safe yall. Peace.
Shieeet, watched this in agony. Once in a while I have dreams where I'm suddenly stuck on ledges. I don't have particularly strong fear of heights, but I am really happy being a regular guy. For some reason it's geolocated to Russia above the video title for me..
It's so crazy how some people, like myself have intense anxiety and struggle getting the courage up to do simple things like go into a shop, or see relatives. Others have seemingly no problem doing things like this.

Harrowing with that chimney right there. Interesting to imagine what would happen if you deploy while falling down a cylindrical chimney like that. Would a ram-air canopy keep trying to fly forward and collapse as you hit the wall, or would it stay inflated and just gradually descend since it would be plugging up most of the chimney and air would be trying to get around it in all directions?

I sensed a little nervousness going on while yall were on top of that old smoke stack or whatever it was. I was wondering if you trusted the structure yall were jumping from once you got up there. It looked like that whole thing could have crumbled out from under you. I like the nervousness though. That was intense. Maybe I was the one who was nervous. I'll have to watch it again.
