I’m the same way. That’s why I usually end up doing pick up if I have a DoorDash coupon. An Uber eats the coupons only work if you get it delivered and then it still end up more expensive than if you just go get it.
Yes!! I once had a customer tip me with an oatmeal cookie 😑 and on another trip that paid me a $3 fare and $1 tip for a 12 mile trip to a massive mansion...
That’s good but 20 percent isnt necessarily much if we are being asked to drive 20 miles. If you are tipping 20 percent on a 20 dollar we get 4 dollars. Dd gives us 2-4 bucks. Tip per mile if you live far. If close 20 percent is fine .
I know you’re joking, but that’s the whole thing like they can’t send what they don’t have at the moment. Especially breakfast and lunch time there’s not as many orders. I think.
@@rachmunshine9474this is what I always tell people. If there is only one order in the queue and it’s $3 for 5miles, you’ll get it before the low AR. They can only give you what’s available lol
@@rachmunshine9474the main reason they should do away with that tier mess.. because they can’t send what they don’t have and as soon as the customers get tired of paying those high ass fees that don’t go to the drivers they don’t have good offers…. And this equals SCAM as I have been saying for the longest time..
Ever since I made Platinum I noticed I get a lot of terrible orders!! Like shop Aldis for $5 for 21 items took off shopping offers. It’s like they know you want to keep the status so they send all the crap orders.
Glad yoy managed to complete your 6 orders with DD. My question is the Uber hot cold bag did you get that from Uber or you purchased through Uber? Is that ordered through UberEats app?
I had high paying Doordash Papa John's last night. Showed 9.00 plus. Ended up being 17.99 (14.99 tip). I get hidden tips without plus sign all the time.
Not saying, platinum or not platinum is better just putting my two cents in of my experience. They just won’t show more beyond a certain amount per mile. And I haven’t figured out all those numbers. But I only take it if it’s decent to start with. But I never see a + so but they definitely happen. Obviously if it’s super slow and there’s some platinum Dashers around I’m sure they’re gonna get it before me. So I guess it depends if it’s somebody’s full-time gig and they desperately need that money for their bills or theyd end up homeless… I’m not gonna try to guess what Chuck’s market would be like without platinum but my best guess is he would not see a big difference. Unless they just have way more platinum Dashers, than they have Uber drivers. In my area, it would cost me money to be platinum.
Yesteday I did 6 orders and turned down one. I ended up one point lower. The only thing good about plat dasher is we can dash any time. I like that lol
I had One Delivery yesterday with a base pay that was $7.50 with $2 tip. It was very weird to me. I dunno what Door Dash is trying to pull, but I'm not mad at it 😆
So seems like early morning orders will be junk maybe not necessarily vontrolled by door dash but rather the folks placing the orders. Folks ordering breakfast or coffee/donuts. Wouldn’t you get better paying orders working the lunch gigs 11:30-1:30? Just wondering. 😎
Maybe slightly. Dinner is really where the money is because people are usually ordering for a family so a large order whether they tip by percent or flat fee… it’s usually going to be a higher tip. Breakfast and lunch is usually one person ordering either right before they leave for work, but they get ready to save a stop/time, or at work or somebody working from home or just home. And even though we all think about the mileage some people might just think well I only ordered one sandwich, and I’m only a mile away $2 sounds like plenty. but they don’t realize is that they’re competing against other orders which might be a mile further, but tip a lot more compared to that anyway.
Base pay should be at minimum $5. In my market, I happened to turn it on at around 9pm just to see what I could get, I had one $5 and change offer and another $6 and change stack. Thought they had tips, turned out they were both base pay. So $11 and change for 1 mile for both orders. It might be higher after 9pm, it should be that way during the dinner rush 5pm-9pm.
I have a 100% completion rate, 100% ACCEPTANCE RATING, 99% CUSTOMER RATING, 98% ON TIME EARLY been getting worst I have ever seen 6 years never this bad
As someone on the other end of the AR spectrum (usually less than 5%) I have at least a couple shifts every week where I can make $30+ an hour even while declining almost everything lol. I guess Dasher status really doesn't matter it seems.
I just received an email today from doordash stating as of June 25 there will be no more top dasher program in Charlotte and the new dasher rewards. Program will roll out. How crazy is that. They give a 2 week notice. That stinks. 😢
Yesterday before and after work I took 2 Uber orders, 1 Grubhub, and none for DD. 1st time in 2 years I've had multiple deliveries with none coming from DD. I'm now at 57% AR.
The DD algorithm will send you garbage IF you accept garbage. There are so many garbage orders, they have to send them to someone, and they are likely to send them to the drivers who accept nearly every order. Otherwise, they suffer delay. No tip, no trip. Know your worth.
Chuck, Do you ever do earn by time when you're at 70 to get it up to 72 or so. I was at 69 and the whole screen was grey. I freaked out cause then you can't jump on whenever you want. Plus I like to switch zones when they send out of my zone. Acceptance rate is so hard to maintain.
Bro I'm at 3% AR been that way for a month, if you're not in a saturated market like these new york drivers just be patient for good orders it averages out $/hr a lot higher I still make 25hr
This week (haven’t done a lot due to outside factors) my tips are almost even to my base pay Which is terrific for me due to my prop 22 which I calculated it’s actually quite good the closer the gap in tip vs base the better my stipend. When my tips are low and my base high just the opposite.
Chuck you might get better orders when your closer to the restaurants , I usually pause until i get back to the hot zone, you cant technically get high pay low milage if your 5 miles from the restaurants. Just a tip!
I dash, but its just to stay busy on the weekends. Idk how people attempt to make this their full time job. Certainly not a career, so save yourself some time and dont treat it as such.
If you're the only driver in town, how do the other orders get delivered if you decline them? If you're the only one there, I wouldn't care about AR. I'd decline them unless they were good.
In the town where I work everyday there are lots of drivers but when I come back home I'm the only driver in this tiny little town. If I decline the orders they don't get delivered ever
@@DashingAcrossAmerica or somebody in that other town gets a long distance order. And they eventually get someone to accept it because they don’t wanna fall off platinum. 😂
@@rachmunshine9474 I'm almost certainly the only Uber driver. There are probably a couple of other dashers. But I've heard from people in Folkston that they sometimes place a DD order but it never arrives.
I'm at 89 AR 98 completion rate with 182 rolling deliveries. I could not dash Wed or Thursday night after work and I hate that my deliveries are going below 200
If door dash paid the Dasher better base pay $10 minimum. It wouldn't have to be on the Customer to be required to tip as much . Could you imagine the more money a Dasher would make with $10 base pay orders plus a friendly tip.
It wouldn't happen because the hubs aren't going to take the hit, so the customers will be forced to pay more, which means less using the app, and more competition for the few orders there are.
@mattydips2887 why would dashers continue to get ripped off and complain about it afterwards?? Ther needs to be a solution to this . Because right now door dash is getting the better end of the deal
@@jerrodg938 well $10 more than they even charge for further away orders, I’ve seen it be like $8 dollar “delivery fee.” And they give us two for the ones that they charge 2.99 and over here anyway 99% of the time for the ones that are costing the customer eight dollars plus for delivery fee. That’s probably one reason the longer further away deliveries pay even less because they’re probably like well that’s enough for the delivery on top of the service fees and the regular restaurant fees plus whatever they hiked it up, and tax.
@@jerrodg938 bc they need the job and the money. They can complain all they want but if doordash has no shortages of dashers to take the order than they dont need to cater to them.
Idk what reset you're talking about but I've heard no such thing and in fact I don't believe being able to reset your AR will be a part of this new program
@@bigkarl3143 It's on the Doordash site under info and questions about the new program regarding AR. It says dashers will receive an email informing them of the program coming to their area and includes an option to opt-in to an AR reset if the dasher chooses. It says they want everyone to feel like they're starting on the same footing as everyone else.
DoorDash raised the acceptance rate on gold and platinum to 80% overnight in my zone. Went to bed platinum and woke up to a gray map and silver status due to only having a 72% AR. DoorDash playing games as usual.
@@drewwhezzyI don’t see anything about the rolling 150 deliveries but I did notice that gold has first priority to dash now when available. I’m glad I have other apps and am not dependent on only DD.
Curious if you schedule your dashes or just dash now being platinum, I believe the only difference between gold and platinum is having 100 deliveries and being able to dash any time. This system is so messed up, you would think they would send the order to the closest dasher with the best ratings to ensure the customer gets their food fast with friendly service. AR should have nothing to do with it as long as you have some many deliveries over a longer period of time. 6 months or a year and not an outrageous amount of deliveries.
It is said to be an advantage to schedule if you are Platinum. It blocks other dashers from being able to get on if things pick up and they couldn't schedule. If you just hit Dash Now, spots may open in schedule or map will go pink to red faster. Meaning more dashers and less orders/money.
