Andonian's first period takedown was one of the most well-earned two point awards of the day. Whizzer wizard. No glossing over this but Adonian's got Gomez's number, beating him twice this tournament. He's unfazed by the Greco, knows how to gyroscope his body when thrown and just blends some Shane Griffith tenacity/lankiness with a little Bo Nickal awareness. Great sportsmanship at the end. Watching Andonian handle Gomez twice was like watching a dangerous cobra slowly dying to a mongoose's wily attacks.
Except Gomez was mostly the aggressor. Most of Andonian's scores was him being reactive and using his length. Once Gomez learns to finish on him effectively it would be a different match.
@@funnybutscary75 I agree about the initiations. Gomez relied too much on thinking he could bully him, but as we see with wrestlers like Griffith, Adonian has enough strength and leverage to turn those tables. You do have to admit Adonian's scoring wasn't strictly defensive and making Gomez pay for failed finishes; he did some shooting of his own and was trying to make a personal statement. For next year Gomez may need to adapt some Deakin strats and embrace bread and butter low singles and leg offense, with upper body as backup only.
@@michaelmaloskyjr I agree with some of the things you were saying but to say Adonian has his number is a stretch considering this dude just came out of retirement and has been persistent with attacks but not the best finisher.
Jesus, I’m just starting to follow the sport but Andonian seems to be doing something completely his own. In fact, from all his matches he seems to struggle and be outmatched until he all of a sudden scores. It’s amazing.
Ok, then dont watch it. No one made you click on this. A lot of people like to see how it went down and enjoy the actual wrestling even already knowing who won. Maybe you can ask for your money back...oh wait, you didnt pay sht...so quit crying and be thankful you get to watch the match at all.
I miss watching Zain, Jason, and Bo wrestle from Penn State. Guys who would look for pin and tech fall first. Carter just looks to win so it’s pretty boring to watch. Do we all remember those four glorious years we got to watch Bo, Zain, and Jason wrestle? Well if for some strange reason you can’t just come to RU-vid and remember. Thank God we have had Spencer, another man who just don’t look to win by decision. Those four go out there to completely dominate by tech or pin.
