Philippines, I was stationed at Clark Air Base, Philippines 🇵🇭 back in 1991.(Angeles). I was age 28. The American Base was great. Philippines with the mastery of English helps countries like United Kingdom 🇬🇧 and America 🇺🇸. Planning to return and retire in the Philippines 🇵🇭 next year 2025. Great video. Thank you.
Wow. 1991 was the year the Bases left. And, prior to that was the Mt. Pinatubo Eruption that changed landscape and global temperature. It is now a good trekking attraction, with a previously non-existent crater that turned into a lake . Hope you get to visit too.
Thank you for showing your love for the Philippines! Welcome to our country! Your positivity is everything and oh I love your Irish accent always been. New subbie here. 🫶🏼🇵🇭🤗♥️
Thank you for visiting my country! I've been living in the US for 22 years now more than I've lived in the Philippines but it will always have a place in my heart.
Love the Philippines 🇵🇭 So much variety of things to do. Big part of my life and I was just there last month for a month! Great country! Best part are the wonderful people! From the north such as Sagada, Baguio, big cities like Manila and Cebu, Palawan and all the beautiful islands ❤ Explore 👍
Ohh wow a whole month! I wish we had we spent the full month there cause we just scratched the surface during our 10 days, but I guess it's an excuse to return again and again. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Philippines is the most diverse. From modern tall structures and buildings, to the best powder white sand beaches and majestic mountains and lakes and volcanoes
Absolutely! It has everything including delicious food! I wasn't expecting much from the cuisine because we don't hear much about it over here in Europe but I was pleasantly surprised. I LOVED all the food we tried! 💖🙌🥰
@@LaurenCotteryah so underrated, they did'nt know we have 7k + islands and 82 provinces each has its own signature dishes, you just have to explore discover . Welcome and enjoy!
@@jesscatangay9384 I knew it was big but it's blowing my mind that it would take a lifetime to visit every island and try every dish. I already know I need to come back again. I'll barely scratch the surface on my tip cause it's huge 😂😂🙌🙌
Don't believe her though. NO ONE here calls the region simply as "Manila". Always, the region is "METRO MANILA" while "Manila" is just one of many cities in it. You will offend local political loyalties here for calling absolutely everything "Manila" just because you are walking on concrete.
Thailand n Malaysia are both trying to discourage tourists to come to the Philippines for so many years. We dont know why they r like that in the past, tourists usually just bypass the Philippines because of the negative bogus statements by our so called neighbors of which the philippines hasnot done anything to them but thanks to RU-vid n many local n foreign vloggers now many people has finally discovered the Philippines. You are most welcome to my beautiful country. In any country there will always be the bad seeds, bad neighborhoods etc so always do ur proper research n dont hesitate to ask the locals coz we speak english n we love to help anybody that needs assistance. We will not speak ill of our neighbors coz you n other tourists if u give us a chance we will prove every negative sayers wrong
This is so true, when people claim an entire city is 'rough or dirty' I think there's always going to be parts of any large city which are dirty & rough, but you shouldn't write off an entire place for that. The people in Manila were SOOOO kind, friendly and helpful everywhere we went. So many people asked us if we were tourists, where we're from and then welcomed us to their country. That's what makes a great place! The people! 🥰💖😁🫶
Actually Manila is behind Thailand and Malaysia but because of BGC and other new developments in Manila, it's becoming attractive and deserves a second look. New Intramurus, New Rizal Park and Roxas Blvd. , Pasig River esplanade, BGC, Okada, Newport city, new Ayala Triangle, Aseana City, etc. and many more coming like the Horizon Manila Reclamation project but Marcos foolishly STOPPED it for greedy reasons or conflict of interest. 😊
Thailand is decades ahead of the Philippines. The Philippines has some nice places but most foriengers only show the nice places and don't show 99% of what the phillpines is. They so rude compared to other countries I have been to. If they are nice to you it's usually fake. The rental cost of Condos is actually awful. Thailand has cheaper places that at twice the size and quality.
@@lightner6924Philippines is beautiful. It has lots of CBDs and has the best CBD in the whole world. It's number 11 in the list of most number of skyscrapers and highest in all of SouthEast Asia. Are you addict? 😊
Young lady breath you talk to fast hehe even though I understand everything you say hehe enjoy in the Philippines 🇵🇭 Mabuhay welcome to the country Philippines
The Philippines, Pearl of the Orient, Land of Gold, Ends of the Earth, with over 7000 islands and the most hospitable and friendliest people in the World. The location of the Garden of Eden.
Manila is pretty big, and the negative comments about the city are targeted towards very specific unsafe neighborhoods, I don't know why people started generalizing the *entire* city all of a sudden. I think the one thing that the entire Manila has in common is the bad traffic, but other than that, it's a diverse city that offers literally everything. not everything is bad, not everything is horrible, not everywhere is unsafe
Exactly, I agree. I don't think it's fair to generalise a whole city. Bangkok also had terrible traffic but I still loved the city. Gotta take the good with the bad 😁💖💖🙌
Eh... Manila is not really a big city. Manila is just 4% of the NCR. Taguig is 2x as big. But the biggest city in NCR is Quezon City around 7x as big as Manila I think. This is because historically around 1950's(?) they wanted to transfer the country's capital from Manila to Quezon City due to congestion. Did not work though...
@@uchniezt1212 so is that what you define a city? MM is considered as Mega City. Tokyo Metropolis has several cities and does not even have Mayor so it is not considered as City? I don’t think so.
@LaurenCotter oh, and it's really warm here about this time of the year. Sweltering heat I should say. But, at least, it won't rain on your parade. The wet season comes in two months.

Step 2 of 101 book how to gain more subscribers for western vloggers - GO TO THE PHILIPPINES (….and don’t forget to add the Philippines flag on your titles 🇵🇭)
Welcome to the Philippines! The Chinatown in Manila is the oldest Chinatown in the world outside of China. Try to also check Bonifacio Global City and Makati which are two of the few - about 10 cities - that are parts of Metropolitan Manila (similar to California's San Francisco Bay Area which comprises about 50 cities).
@@LaurenCotter "Love the Philippines" -- but you can't even do ample research about it? "Metro Manila" and "Manila" are not the same. Metro Manila is a region. Manila is just one of many cities in it. In fact, "Metro Manila" is already obsolete. It was renamed to NCR way back 1978 precisely to distinguish that tiny city Manila from the rest of the equally valid cities in the region. NO ONE calls the region simply as Manila. No one.
I just love your energy! It's really pure joy seeing tourists exploring and enjoying Manila since most exclude the Philippine capital in their itineraries and instead immediately go to the islands and beaches. I would say you guys are now my most favorite travel vloggers out there. Enjoy, have fun and I will be looking forward to more of your travel and adventures. Mabuhay! ❤
Thank you po, kabayan! It pleases my patriotic heart when I see more Filipinos promoting the truth about our geography. Let's stop tolerating these foreigners from assuming everything here is manila. We have a right to expect that they will do some research about our geography when they come here. That's traveler etiquette. Indeed, "Metro Manila" is a region. "Manila" is just one of many cities in it. In fact, even "Metro Manila" is already obsolete (or at least it should have been). It was renamed to NCR way back 1978 precisely to distinguish Manila from the other equally valid cities in the region.
@@JoeyZee-vs4kr Remember when it's your turn to fall victim to lies and and others will say to you too, "I don't care". You want to live in a just and orderly society but you will not do your share to make that happen? Deplorable how alien the phrase "social responsibility" must be for you.
@@mocabe01 both of you just want to look smart when EVERYONE KNOWS that when vloggers talks of Manila, they mean Metro Manila. Do you guys nothing to think about except disturbing the vloggers? 😊
Just got to the Philippines last week and now in the province. What a time to come during the hottest time it’s ever been here 🥵. Enjoy your time here and stay cool.
and the City of Manila is a part of the 16 cities of Metro Manila, so when you go out of the city, you refer it as Metro Manila, the city your apartment is, is in Taguig another city of Metro Manila, enjoy your trip❤
Metro Manila is simply called Manila by locals and foriegners some locals doesnt know that during Spanish colonization the whole present day Metro Manila is a province of Manila mid 1700s to 1901.
When they say, don't go to Manila, they are partly right. Metro Manila is NOT Manila City. You were in Taguig city, which IS NOT Manila City. Though, saying there's nothing to do in Manila is quite overreaching. There's a lot of places to go to in Manila City. You've got Intramuros, which is a day-trip on itself if you want to immerse on its rich history. Arroceros park, if you want to be in an urban jungle. You can also enjoy the slices of life in Quiapo, the food in Binondo. Of course, like any major rising metropolitans, Manila city has a poor air quality, and has a lot of poverty issues, but then again, if you don't want to be a victim of crime, just like in any other places, then don't show off your expensive stuff. Just leave those in your hotel.
Thank you, Ken. It makes me very happy when more Filipinos like you promote the truth about our country. Please all of us Filipinos, let us stop tolerating these foreigners from calling everything manila. We have a right to expect that they will do ample research about our geography when coming here. That's respect!
@@mocabe01 Uhm, they'd still have the right to criticize our country. After all, we're not perfect. Just like any country, we have our best parts, and we also have our hideous part. And that's something we need to work on. We have an alarming rate of poverty in the Philippines. We also have a very high crime rate, and that's not just Manila alone. What we don't tolerate is poverty porn, and also, we need to remove to mindset of excusing crime because of poverty. Truth be told, we have a lot of job potentials in the Philippines, though there are also missed opportunities because a lot of people won't invest on themselves and improve their plight. Hence, those foreign detractors have also the right to criticize us. Let those be a welcome call for us.
Our secret to great singing is great community support regardless of your singing capacity. If you sing great, you get applauds for a good song. If you sing badly, the running joke/superstition is that if you sing badly enough it will start raining, and when you're in the hot, humid tropics that's a win win. So with that kind of encouragement, the bad singers become meh, the meh singers become good, etc.
@@LaurenCotter yup the editing is superb and it's my first time seeing this kind of material in RU-vid the way how we do things in our docu series. Outstanding. Again welcome to our humble country..
