Ludvig Aberg's Golf Swing Analysis | Full Breakdown by David Leathem | DL Golf Tips
In this comprehensive video, David Leathem from DL Golf Tips delivers a detailed swing analysis of Ludvig Aberg's golf swing, examining his world-class technique in incredible depth. Whether you're a golfer looking to improve your own golf swing mechanics or just an enthusiast interested in understanding what makes Ludvig Aberg's golf swing so special, this is the perfect video for you.
In this in-depth golf swing analysis, I take you through every single part of Ludvig Aberg's golf swing, from his setup position all the way through to the finish, highlighting key details and breaking down the mechanics that make his swing so effective on the golf course. Throughout the video, I aim to provide you with actionable insights that you can apply to your own game, based on the qualities of Ludvig Aberg's golf swing.
We start at the setup position, where I highlight the key fundamentals that Ludvig Aberg nails perfectly. His setup provides a solid foundation for everything that follows in the swing. Having a great setup is crucial for consistency, and Ludvig Aberg's setup allows him to get into powerful positions later in the swing.
From there, we move into the takeaway position. One of the standout qualities of Ludvig Aberg's takeaway is how he matches the clubhead to his spine early in the swing, keeping the clubface square right from the start. I’ll break down the importance of this move and explain why it’s such a key part of creating a powerful, consistent swing. By keeping the clubface square early, Aberg sets himself up to deliver a strong, solid strike on the ball.
Next, we move to the halfway-back position, where we analyze the shaft angle and how it contributes to his swing plane. One of the things that sets Ludvig Aberg's golf swing apart is how well he shallows the club into the downswing. This is a technique that many of the best players in the world use to generate speed and accuracy,
As we reach the top of the backswing, I highlight the impressive positions that Ludvig Aberg gets into, particularly focusing on the squareness of his clubface and the positioning of his lead arm. Aberg's lead arm is in an ideal spot to generate power, and his clubface is perfectly square, which contributes to his consistent ball-striking ability.
Moving into the golf downswing, we focus on the transition and how Ludvig Aberg shallows the golf club. The shallowing move is crucial because it puts the club in the perfect position for impact, allowing Aberg to deliver the clubhead squarely to the ball with maximum efficiency. We then transition to the P6 position, where I show you how Ludvig Aberg’s clubface is slightly turned down, a position that sets him up to strike the ball with power and precision.
At impact, we dive deep into the concept of shaft lean and how Ludvig Aberg achieves shaft lean to create the perfect impact position. Shaft lean is crucial for creating ball compression, distance, and accuracy, and Aberg does this brilliantly in his swing. Additionally, I’ll break down how Ludwig Aberg holds lag in his downswing, a move that’s key to generating speed and distance.
As a bonus, I also point out something very interesting that Aberg does with his lead foot during the downswing. He uses his lead foot to move pressure efficiently throughout the swing, helping him maintain balance and generate power.
In this video, you’ll gain a full understanding of what makes Ludvig Aberg’s golf swing so effective, and I provide detailed insights that you can take away and apply to your own game. Whether it’s mastering the takeaway, learning how to shallow the club, or improving your shaft lean at impact, I cover everything you need to know in this detailed swing analysis of Ludvig Aberg’s golf swing.

Great video you're the first one I've seen mention his right foot being flat at impact. I've started trying this and my power and strike has been loads better. Keep the great content coming! 👍🏻

Thank you, Robert. Really glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I pretty much picked it from start to finish. I had in my head to just do one or two things, but I got carried away. LOL. I'll be doing a few more of these. If there's any swings that you'd like looked at, just let me know.
