Yo, I saw this on craigslist. This checks a lot of boxes for me however, its too expensive for me. Could you tell me where you got the parts to build this? Like the motors battery etc... Or could you give me a parts list that would be great thanks.

@@jackisback4949 I Think I spent around 1300 on this and will send you the parts if you want to build it. I would probably sell it for 1100 now just because I want the money for my next project. Is that closer to your budget?

Yes, this is very close to my budget. However, I have to check with my area to make sure I can own this and I have to make sure my parents are ok with me spending 1,100 since I am only 17. But this seems like a really good deal. I will let you know if I can.

Yeah it’s mostly because of the gearing but also because I have all the components running more than there supposed to which is ok if there is good cooling

Esk8 motors can handle a lot

That's more than enough power for a gokart like the videos. Mine is 3000w and it goes 30mph

I do not think it would matter if you added up all of the motors together and it equaled the power of the big motor

Ok these motors have good top speed but not much torque. They are also have a drive ratio of 7-1 so that should give more acceleration and less top speed but the acceleration is still not very fast. My new go kart has loads of torque and a high enough rpm to get the kart to 60. It also has a drive ratio of 1-1.38. If I had to guess my old go kart had ~10nm of torque and my new one has ~60nm

@@Kevin.OBrien44 thanks for the reply. I am not so much worried about top speed. What was the spec for motors, battery and esc? Also for the new motor setup how does that compare for spec and cost? I currently have twin 24v 350watt motors in a modified kids ride on. Overvolted to 36v lithium and making 1000watts total. Gear ratio 5:1 it does 21mph and acceleration is decent. Spins the wheels on a loose surface once initial esc slow ramp up is passed. Trying to determine what motor setups for the next step. Also like mote details on the new kart motor to see if I can source one. If you have email we can chat over that would be great? Or are you on Facebook? Cheers

The old motor was rated at 50v and 60 amps and that about what I had them running on. The old esc was rated for 50v and 60 amps. The parts are listed in the description of that video. The old battery was rated at 20 amp hours and cont. discharge of 400 amps. THe new motor was pulled from a forklift so I has no ratings other than the 48v. The new esc is rated for 90v and 650amps. And the new battery is 80v 20amphours and cont. discharge of 400 amps. @@Kevin.OBrien44 thanks for the info.. The battery packs are a lot larger than I expected. I assume these are not made from 18650 cells with that amount of discharge available?! I will check out the link and info you posted before if I can find it. Cheers

@@leepatterson4009 I got them from a website called batteryhookup.com and they were limited in stock so they may not be there but this website always has good deals on batteries. Also they weren’t 18650. They are 26650

lol yeah epoxy. It holds for about a month or 2 then it looses grip and i just replace it. I didnt have a welder back then.

It should give me about 20-30 miles of range but I have never drained the battery to 0% before so idk what the real world range would be

Ok. I ran it at my friends house at 75% average and got around 45 minutes. We were doing constant donuts and going fast so that’s probably a good estimate

Nah it wasn’t that expensive. Only about 170$. But this setup has a good mid and high torque but not much low torque. The electrics are only about 600-700$ total

How did you come to that conclusion?

It was actually really tight at first but was causing lots of rolling resistance. The adjustment for chain tension is on the metal where the motors r mounted too
