Actually Parris got hit with stalling in the first period when he backed up out of bounds. If he gave up another stalling call the match would have been tied 3-3. He had to do something. Schultz had one against him too but was moving forward most of the time.
@@BigRed77777 when he first lost to kervliet earlier in the season, that was an early sign that he has lost strength and confidence. Remember he pinned cassioppi? He was a beast. He needs to leave Michigan
Parris could have won this. He made the mistake of trying to shoot straight at him. Schultz has no offense that I can see in the few matches I have watched. He waits for his opponent to generate a shot, then uses his massive weight to sandwich him and just spin around on top, he does have good wrestling balance. Schultz is a Greco guy so I guess this is how he goes about his business in folkstyle. It worked all the way to the finals. Gable played him the smartest. He attacked him quickly and had him down in 5 seconds to start his match. Schultz did quickly adjust and stand his ground like a massive elephant staying very square the rest of the match . Gable was only able to get one more angle attack while changing levels as he took him down but he was smart enough to realize Schultz was not gonna attack so he just held his ground for the victory.
Schultz was out there throwing massive clubs in the first good lord. Almost clubbed Parris off his feet more than once. I'm not sure what they weighed in at, but it looked like they were different weight classes.
@@cuffy7941 Oh I know. Our heavyweight in HS always had trouble gaining weight and we started calling him Slim after he had to have his jaw wired shut and dropped even more weight. Poor Slim would weigh in at ~235-245lbs and be wrestling ogres at 275lbs. Felt bad for the guy. He was faster, but they wore him down if he got caught underneath.
Schultz is very beatable via single leg sweeps, ankle picks and single to double leg takedowns. Kerkvliet, PSU, 2023 NCAA DIVISION I INDIVIDUAL 285lb. WRESTLING CHAMPION.
I understand it's heavy weight but Schultz didn't take a real shot the whole match I hate that shit unless you count the one at the end of the 2nd. Parris should have only took outside single shots to avoid all that weight. He did it the first time idk why he went away from it. He kept wanting to switch off to a double for some reason.
Gotta be pissed if you're the Michigan coaches there. All that training for 2 TERRIBLE shots in the final minute. Probably for the best...he's been bent over by Gable too many times already, give someone else a turn! 😂
Do stalls not exist anymore? 1 point stall not exist? I thought this was Mayweathers referee the way this shit was reffed. Shot on him not once, not twice, but three times. Without Schultz Doing anything really. No hate on em. Just didn’t deserve it. Shoulda at least went into OT
