We are travelling for 6 months in Africa, and I got the Fujifilm 150-600 to try out for wildlife photo and video. Still getting used to the bulkiness, but I like it, especially for video!

🙋🏼‍♂️ I´m Daniel Bryn, a RU-vidr, adventurer, photographer and ex engineer from Oslo, Norway. I lost my job as an engineer in 2016. Lucky me I guess! @@DanielBryn Thanks for sharing. I have a beaten up load xt3, and been weighing up getting this lense for a while! Convinced me to stop watching reviews and go out and buy. My 70-200mm really does not cut it for anything for very up close bird photography. Great to see a review with the lens put through it's paces.

@@anthonyjstewart Thanks man, really apprecaite it! There are so many technical reviewers out there, and ive never really got that. Much better to put it to use in the environment its supposed to operate and take it from there

I have a brand new 150/600.. I used it once. Great lens.. but for my usual day to day and mostly sports photography, it’s too heavy for me. One of the many reasons I stopped cannon after 35 years was because the cameras and the lenses were so heavy to schlep around. That’s why I went to Fuji. I use the 70 to 300 mostly for my longer reaches. I would love to sell this lens if your local here in Southern California, send me a message. I’m offering an amazing price.

Yes it is quite big and bulky. Its a bit different when youre sitting in a truck or a blind in africa photographing animals. Then its fine I guess. As I do street and travel photography mostly, ill probably sell mine when I get home (and get the 100-400 second hand for next africa trip). Also; great price! If youre looking to buy and in California - Phil is your guy! Great lens

I love this lens. You need to take time and learn how to use it. It is not the plug-and-play kind of lens. It gives very sharp images at 600mm. I was quite deceived at the beginning, but now, it's one of my favourite lenses. I like its weight and the way it feels. Great pictures by the way! 🙂

Thanks a lot! I also really like it. The more I use it, and get used to superzooms, the more I like it. Took some time getting used to though, but it really is great. Fuji has achieved something here. Thanks for watching my video as well

Easily my favourite wildlife lens- fast autofocus on my x-h2s, light to carry… and really good images out of it

Tech and lenses keeps getting better and better. The more I use it, the better it gets, takes time getting used to a superzoom though, but such fun! Thanks for watching Morten!

@@Gaming_Let_s_Play hey there - thanks for reaching out! The xh2s for sure. With the customizable dial you can quickly swap between different photo and videomodes, and I think 24 MPs is more than adequate for photos. Cheers for watchting my video

@@Gaming_Let_s_Play x-h2s is faster and has a deeper buffer for spray-n-pray - and yes, coupled with the 150-600

Veldig kul optikk. Ganske diger, men begynner å bli vant med det. Fått noen heftige leopard bilder med det som kommer på et eller annet tidspunkt!

Thanks for your video, very nice shots. In your opinion, just for the reach, is it worth upgrading from xf 100-400, which is a faster lens?

Tough question, but id say no! Been a while since I tested the 100-400, but considering all those MP every camera has these days, id stick with the 100-400 and crop in. It is a great lens though. And before returning to the city today, I had a lovely leopard encounter for a while, where the 600mm was put to good use. Ill probably share some photos on the community tab quite soon. Just my two-pennorth: After several months of Procrastination & reading reviews, I finally bit the bullet & bought a prisine 'used' 150-600 (I reckon it's ex-display, as there's not a mark anywhere on it) for £1,465. I'm fortunate that I'm able to keep the 100-400 & 1.4 t/c I've used & loved for ~6 years, solely for use at events etc where the bazooka would feel like overkill. I have to say that I don't regret my decision at all & haven't looked to use the 100-400 since. The big lens is only 1/2 stop slower at the short end & exactly the same at 600mm, whereas I'm convinced that the iq is definitely better & noise is dealt with better - why? I don't know, but my long bird of prey shots are definitely better.

Great lens for good light, but too slow for dense woodland conditions. I wish sigma will relase the 500 f5.6 for fuji too.

Yeah maybe - I still think you get good value, And if bumping up ISO worries you for noisy images, the denoise feature in lightroom is pretty good. It will ofc not reach the level of those higher end lenses. Versetile though!

Oi, artig at jeg fant en norsk her, lurer på et par ting om X-T5. Ene er hvor ille er rolling shutter når man filmer i 4K60 og evt. om man kan ofre litt skarphet mot mindre rolling shutter her? Jeg tar veldig mye makro bilder med X-T1 men filmer med iPhone pga bedre video. Har veldig lyst å kunne erstatte den teite løsningen om jeg kan. Det andre er om 4k60 10-bit HLG opptakene X-T5 tar blir HDR automatisk når man importerer de i f.eks Photos i apple økosystemet eller må man kjøre opptaket igjennom software først?

Heisann, takk for at du ser på, det er gøy! Ang rolling shutter aner jeg ikke. Føler ikke jeg trenger å bry meg om det så lenge jeg får de resultatene jeg trenger og vil ha. Hva er egentlig rolling shutter? På andre spm er jeg desverre like blank. Jeg redigerer i Premiere Pro og tar alt av korrigeringer der. Når det er sagt filmer jeg i en standard bildeprofil for det aller meste som gir meg litt flex i korrigering. Akkurat det jeg trenger til å gjøre klipp klar for stock video salg til porteføljen min. Ta et kjapt søk på youtube eller google, så finner du nok ut av det, og ha det gøy med foto og video

@@DanielBryn if you would mount it on the xt3 instead of the xt5, would the capture speed still be fast as in your own setup. i own the xt3 and i wasn't thinking about upgrading soon and if i did it would be the xt4! so i was wondering if it would still be perfect for the older sensors
