Singer Ryan Bingham performs "The Weary Kind", from the soundtrack for CRAZY HEART, starring Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Robert Duvall, in select theaters December 16.
Good for you. It takes courage to look at yourself in the mirror and say that's enough -- I'm done. It's one day at a time but with longevity comes certainty. I messed up for a long and knew I was going down a dead end but it takes a shift in your heart to help you make the right decision and to stick through the tough times.
“What’s shaking everybody? I’m just going sit here with my Gibson J-45 and play you an incredibly beautiful song with lyrics that will burn into your soul. No big deal.”
I love this song, and I love the movie, I want to go back to the US, I want to drive on these roads again, I want to meet the people over there, again, one more time, I want to see these landscapes again, the green grass of Iowa and the red dust of Arizona, and look at the sky, that huge unlimited sky, I miss this land so much. Marie, from France
It was a great surprise to see Ryan join the Yellowstone series cast with Kevin Costner. Hadn't seen him in anything beyond Crazy Heart. The Weary Kind represents so many lifelong road dogs who sing their way from coast to coast, boondocks to barstools; plying their musical trade to anyone kind enough to pay attention. Too many nights of smokey bars & inattentive audiences can be dispiriting. Then comes that one golden moment when the right person, on the right night, hears the song that changes your life forever. For better or worse, from then on, you're tied to a runaway train. The best you can hope for is to hold on & try to not derail yourself. ~Thanks to Ryan Bingham for this look into the life of inveterate tunesmiths everywhere. 🎵
I've loved this song for many years. It hit me different when my brother died a few years ago. We buried him on his 50th birthday. He lived fast and hard. I do miss him.
"Whiskey has been the thorn in your side that doesn't forgive." As a former alcoholic I felt that one. Used to listen to this song a lot whilst drunk. Blessing to all.
Ryan Bingham is really a sort of unsung hero- From Farm-Aid, to the soundtrack of Yellowstone with Kevin Costner--He has a special kind of soul in that voice and his guitar...Can listen all day...Turn it on and let it go...
His voice is soft rust slowly flaking away on a once beautiful, shiny classic truck. That's the best way I can describe his voice and his sound and subtle grace. A dusty throat whispering our small town secret American fears and courage.
Dude takes it upon himself to carry the burdens of so many. Takes a special songwriter and human to accept the challenge subject matter like this presents.
This is True country music in its finest form. I play and write my own songs and it is songs like this that inspire you to push forward with the music that should be called country, instead of all the pop B.S that gets shoved into the spotlight now a days.Great Song, Great Movie!
I recently got into Yellowstone I and Ryan's character walker started singing, I had too Google this guy. I love country music been Chris Stapleton fan for years and Zac Brown. But just hooked on Ryan Bingham and his music, especially this song some of lyrics just hit home in many ways especially after 2022 losing 2 of my closet friends. This song and the film are just beautiful. I could listen to this style of music all day personal, the music has feeling...
I was so mad that the year Ryan won an Academy Award for this song was the one year the Academy decided not to have performances of the nominated songs. They owe him an invitation to come back to perform this!
@@ajnunez2989 I heard that honey !!! The Good Lord above is the ONLY One that knows what PAIN I endure ... 6 spine diseases, including 3 Slipped Vertabras. Muscle disease ( Myositis) I know Physical PAIN & Also Emotional Pain .
Two years after your comment, i'll read you the sign the note on my fridge that says "it's not what I have been through in my life that defines who I am, it's how I got through it that has made me the person I am today." I hope that you have defeated the demon and survived.
This song is so beautiful! For those of you leaving negative comments, if the song is so bad, then why are you even bothering to watch it? Stop wasting your time and go watch something you like and stop criticizing the rest of us.
Outstanding song and performed wonderfully by Ryan. His voice is hauntingly beautiful. I have watched Crazy Heart a million times and never get tired of it or this song.
Ck this: I just came here by accident talking about the movie Crazy Heart w/my girlfriend and just 2 min. earlier I was looking at Shaolin stuff. Weird, wild stuff!
Fell in love with Ryan when I heard "Tell My Mother I Miss Her So." He's got an old soul and it shows in his voice and in his lyrics. Smiley...hang in there..I know exactly what you're going thru...
Wow. This showed up on my Jason Isbell Pandora station, and it grabbed my heart and throat and squeezed them. So beautiful. Crying, it's so beautiful. It's like watching a sunset when you're not sure if you want to go on with this life thang.
I felt the exact same thing the first time I heard this song when I watched Crazy Heart back in 2010. I got to see him perform it a couple of months later, and it hit me even harder. Shit, it still hits me hard. It's just one of those honest songs that causes a visceral reaction, especially those of us prone to depression and chronic sadness. I come back to this song, specifically this recording, time after time when I'm feeling chewed up and spit out by life. But as Brandon Marshall said, we must go on. Thank goodness for music. Cheers.
+28happenstance i know how ya feel and yes this is a dong that speaks directly to your soul.. i couldnt of said it better mate...take care life is hell and thank god for music ..
Small crowd I think. Beautiful song though that touches the very soul, it doesn't need applause. It's like when you watch a movie that you're just silent after.
I found this song when im was nearly dead from drugs n alcohol n i held this song as my anthem n with sober ears i can still hear the sorrow i love it makes my skin crawl everytime i hear it
I loved the movie when it came out. And the extended Soundtrack with really cool music of all kinds. I really love this promo video of the song. No frills beautiful.
Saw Ryan and his band in Maconga last year. He is gracious and humble with the fans, a beautiful person, and the band is great and has superb stage presence
The first time I heard this song and saw this performance, I though "no way is THAT sound coming from THAT dude!" 5 shows later, THAT man is the real deal and should have all the success and accolades that will come his way.
Fist time i heard thos song when i lost my mima she in heaven lnow remember her smils telling me be strong thos life is hard but u have to push foward be strong through and through
Of all the country songs, this is the one that made me fall in love with the genre. I guess there is a song for everyone, to come home too. Keep truckin and never give up!!
true sign of an amazing songwriter...takes such a simple song musically, with chord progressions that have been used in folk/country for god knows how long..and makes it into something really, really special. ryan bingham ftw
singers with that raspy voice it seems to touch your heart more then others and helps you really feel the music instead of just hearing it. if its a sad song then it makes you feel sad and if its a happy song then it really helps make you feel happy
Finding myself listening to this in the middle of Montana on an Indian reservation caring for these natives as that was my dream while in school and what drove me into medicine. Truth is I'm lonely in a cold house always going from reservation to reservation to try and give hope, but it's a life that led me to walk away from women i loved, one in particular. Wish i could have saved our hearts so much hurt when it was time for me to follow my dreams. I understand having a crazy heart and thank for this song Mr. Bingham it's a special one for me.
Hate to break it to ya, every song thats ever been written has been inspired by a song that that came before it. Give some love to a talented young songwriter!
Hey Joe. An Alcoholic will always be on the verge. HANG on man. Listen to Ryan Bingham My Troubles it is another great song. I struggle with booz in a way I just can't explain. I am convinced there is remidy.
Brian Boyd no cure buddy. You can have a daily reprieve from the obsession. Try a 12 step meeting. I’ve been sober almost a year and a half. One day at a time
This song is amazing, Jeff Bridges was amazing, and the movie made me cry. I've known people who were like Bad Blake; beautiful, talented, smart, and self-destructive. Some were able to change, some weren't. But the movie had it right, you have to want to change and just because you do doesn't mean everything will be how you want it to be.
Your heart's on the loose You rolled them seven's with nothing to lose This ain't no place for the weary kind You called all your shots Shootin’ 8 ball at the corner truck stop Somehow this don't feel like home anymore And this ain't no place for the weary kind This ain't no place to lose your mind This ain't no place to fall behind Pick up your crazy heart and give it one more try Your body aches Playin’ your guitar, sweating out the hate The days and the nights all feel the same Whiskey has been A thorn in your side, it doesn't forget The highway that calls for your heart inside And this ain't no place for the weary kind This ain't no place to lose your mind This ain't no place to fall behind Pick up your crazy heart and give it one more try Your lover's warm kiss Is too damn far from your fingertips You are the man that ruined her world Your heart's on the loose You rolled them seven's with nothing to lose This ain't no place for the weary kind
I know I haven't kept up my dues All my peace offers have been refused There is no redemption in my desire So I will love you in the smoke our funeral fire.
i´m not us citizen and i´m not even been in usa but i´ve a kind of conection to this music I hear it so melodic and beautiful I love it This movie as was Walk the line contibutes to the knowledge of it in the rest of the world
