I guess you can say that, they are lined up everywhere, from Sun to Sun Down, and Yes they can look like Fireworks in the trees and in the sky, LOL, Take care, Robbie
If the world weren't so cruel you'd see a lot more people like her. I'd love to have a house in the hills with a garden but we don't all get an equal chance to live out our dreams. Sorry for the rant.
Im almost 40 years old. Lived in a big city most of my life. Recently moved to a rural area, population under 10k and saw a hummingbird for the first time a few months ago. Several of them actually. I adore them, and this video was amazing. Thank you so much for a glimpse of your life. Amazing 👏 thank you again.
Make sure you don’t push your big city ideology on to the people that have called the place home forever. Rural areas are nice because the people that live there have traditional values. Urban areas are pits of despair because the people who live there confuse cruelty with compassion. Their “solutions” actually hurt those they think they’re helping. It’s such a sad state of affairs, but they’re so ideologically driven they cannot see they’re the problem.
@@smelltheglove2038 you said it exactly right! As a small town Alabamaian, I concur. I welcome anyone here, just leave your big city ideologies behind. We live a peaceful, pleasant, happy life because of it, and traditional values play a key role.
I live on 12 acres in the country and was on the patio one day and a single hummingbird flew by me. I instantly ordered a feeder on Amazon and hung it up. That single bird indulged by itself for months until a second one showed up. Fast forward to this week and I have about 25 plus here now and it grows each day. They came out of nowhere. I am ordering more feeders now because my single feeder isn't cutting it anymore lol..super cool!
I just moved to West Texas in the desert and last month I heard what I thought was a bumble bee buzzing around my head. When I turned around to see what I thought it was to my surprise it was a hummingbird literally inches from my face. Well maybe about a foot. But I never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would see a hummingbird in the desert. When I made the move from Florida to here I did bring a hummingbird feeder but in the move in got cracked at the top. So I still filled it with sugar water and put it out. That one hummingbird followed me in the house and outside until I hung it up! By the afternoon I had at least 3 hummingbirds. I couldn't believe it. The next couple of days my hummingbird population grew to at least a dozen. But now it's getting colder and I think they have headed south. I still have about 4-5 hanging around and fighting over the new feeder I bought a couple of days after the first one showed up. But they are amazing creatures they come right up to me, look at me chattering when it gets low on food. Who knows what they are saying LOL. I enjoyed your video. I think I'm going to make some like u did and maybe a solar fountain. Thanks 👍!!!
I am refilling my hummingbird feeder up every few days now. I’ve got so much traffic I’m thinking about hiring an air traffic controller. Your traffic seems a lot higher.
What part of the country do you live in ? What do you use in your feeders? I live on the West coast of Florida & I've been using commercial nectar. I'd greatly appreciate some pointers, if you will.
What a special video! I am in aw of you!!! thank you for making this, I love the time line, it was suspenseful and full of wonderment! You are a great videographer and story teller. My hat's off to you!!!
@@AgendaInMind I've always used ¼c granulated sugar to 1c water. You can make it stronger, but they won't feed as often. I was told long ago to not put red food coloring into the nectar, bc it stains their bottom making for an unattractive appearance for when it comes to mating 🤭. Don't tell anyone but I do still add a very tiny amount of color to the water, just so I can tell at a distance if the nectar is getting low. (super faint!) No idea if beet juice or red zinger tea would be a good substitute and less problematic for stained booties. Worth noting, when we first started feeding hummies years ago, we NEVER saw any stained hineys, and we added a BUNCH of food color thinking it's necessary for drawing the birds to the food.
@@AgendaInMind Also: NEVER USE HONEY IN OR WITH YOUR NECTAR RECIPE!! They require 100% sugar which is immediately converted to Glucose for instant energy. This is the only place avoiding sugar is NOT THE THING TO DO!!
Robbie I love feeding God's little creation. Humming birds are so special to me because I'm native American and they are sacred bird to us. It's good to take care of God's creation and being a good steward to the land and animals.
These are Resilient little creatures! I Adore them! For about 3 years I had about 10 feeders on my porch, = Alot of Work and Cleaning! But every year, one single bird would TAP on our window to kinda tell us that she was here and to please feed them! They are like yearly pets, and they are trully Amazing! One of God's gifts to the world for sure! Awesome video BTW, Thank you!!
One evening, while at a Walmart SuperCenter in Amherst, NH, I saw some birds flying around inside. Later, I saw about four birds gathered around the Lawn and Garden Centerfoors. One of those birds 🐦 seemed smart enough to know that if it will "fludder around this device" just above the doors and they will "magically" open. Sure enough, once those doors opened up the lead bird flew out, followed by the other three that were sitting there waiting for the right time.
Just moved into a new house, in a new area, and we had a hummingbird stopping by every morning. I just put up a sugar water feeder, and now the hummingbird is here most of the day. I'm pretty sure that I saw 2 of them yesterday. I am so excited to hear that we may get even more! We also have plants and will have a vegetable garden in the next week or so. They are such amazing little creatures. I am going to set up a bird bath for them as well.
How can anybody dislike this post? The sheer joy in your voice is so amazing to hear...and all those humming birds, wow what an honor. Thankyou for sharing.
This story made me smile so much. I absolutely love hummingbirds, and I hope to have a property like this someday so that I can give back to nature and help feed these wonderful birds. May the Creator bless and keep you and your husband and allow you to continue this work for many years to come.
I am thinking that too, many of the youngsters would nest in this area, that would make sense, why not, they know there is food and lots of places for them to nest, so I am with you on that, thanks, Robbie
I throughly enjoyed your video Mrs Robby! Great video, I smiled the whole time. I couldn’t believe that mama had 4 nest! Wow. I have two humming bird feeders because of you and purchased a solar fountain . The birds have not bathed in it yet , I’ll keep trying . My feeders never go dry for about a year and half now! Love you guys
You may need to move the fountain and try another place, but it also depends on how long your fountain was set up. Remember, we too started with only one birds, THANK YOU so much, take care, Robbie
Hey, I'm from Kuwait. This is such an awesome find! Videos like this and the incredible comments from some people are really inspiring. Big thanks to this lady and all of you. 🇰🇼
This is so AWESOME!!! I have one humming bird using my feeder now. It chased the second humming bird away, so it's super interesting that you have so many of them eating and bathing together. Love what you're doing and especially that you're sharing it with all of us. THANK YOU!
I've had three out at a time and have never had two feed at the same time. They chase each other off. I'm wondering if there's a nest on top of one of my feeders. I have one female that sits on top of a feeder.
Robbie, when I first started watching your videos around the time c19 started and it was hummingbird videos, then I saw your gardening ones! Just love them all! Some days if I'm feeling down and lonely I find one of your videos and always cheers me up! Thanks so much!
I put out one on Sunday, by Tuesday I had one hummingbird! On Wednesday I had two! Thank you so much for the recipe and motivation! I live in North Carolina and am shocked that they came!
That's the sweetest story I've heard in a while! I have 2 feeders out, and hummingbirds are the most fascinating creatures! I love how they hover and cock their heads looking you right in the eye! I love them. They are often spiritual messengers, stopping to remind me to stay positive! It's great to see you have so many subscribers. No wonder! Thanks for the post ~♡
Your Videos inspired me to do more so I ended up building a fountain bird bath and I also have 4 hummingbird feeders plus 3 bird feeders in the yard. Very Pleasant Video!
Hi Robbie I’m gonna start calling you the Hummingbird Queen LOL!!! I just love your videos. I bet you spend several hours a day just making the sugar water. It’s amazing how they can build the nest on the narrow pole!!! Take care and thank you for the beautiful videos. Your friend from Michigan. JoAnn 🐝🦋🐝
Hi JoAnn, Almost hours, even now I have to refill before the sun goes down, they do keep me very busy. They are amazing little birds, THANK YOU so much, take care, Robbie
Wow what a lovely video, I live in the uk and we don't have hummingbirds, I've been watching some of your other videos and am now adding more plants, feeders and birdbaths with the hope it will attract more birds to my garden. Thankyou so much for sharing your wonderful hummingbirds with us, they are magical 😊💖🐦🐥🐤🐣🐥🐦🐥🐦🐤🐣🐦🐥🐣🐤🐦XX
Add another feeder. The more feeders you have the more you will attract. I start out with one feeder when they start showing up in the spring...Then I add another and another and that attracts more birds. With each feeder I put out, more and more birds start showing up...... In years past I’ve had as many as 8 feeders and the traffic was unbelievable ....i was going through a half gallon of food a day...this year I have four feeders and I also only fill my feeders enough to last that day so they have fresh food at all times.....It’s very hot and humid here and it doesn’t take long for the sugar water to start turning into a brew for the all drinkers and brawlers. Lol.
I spent some time in upstate New York and we started putting out hummingbird feeders and within a couple days we had a dozen hummingbirds and they land on your fingers and look at you. They're the most wonderful birds it's really amazing. They're my favorite!
Thank you for doing what you do and sharing it with us. What a dream! I hope bird scientists and hummingbird conservationist give you credit for your contribution to the survival of these creatures. Your video helped with my anxiety and depression too. Thank you.
Wow your voice is so lovely, i loved the way you talk about hummingbirds. There must be enough food so she can raise 4 nests. Can you name a couple of species? I live far away and our hummingbird species are different
I knew... you leave the Christmas lights up.... so they can huddle near them year round for warmth. Thank you for showing that the Rufous Mama...build one of her nest around one of the Christmas bulbs. That is one brilliant mama hummingbird... AMAZING!. I think the key to having an up close and personal encounter with any birds.... is consistency in interest in your yard... ( offering food, water, and YOU). The more you become a daily familiar "feature" in your yard... the more comfortable they are with you being there too. The baby Gold Finches are adorable.
You've brightened my day with this story and made me even more excited to put out a DIY hummingbird feeder in our little patio! Hoping one day we could attract as many cute hummingbirds as you have!
We LOVE our hummingbirds here in LA!! We just have an apartment balcony with one feeder and a lot of plants they like but it’s still a little bit of heaven from us. Thank you for sharing this!
