My favorite part about these types of campers are the fact that you won't really ever have to worry about leaks destroying the interior since everything is fiberglass, also fiberglass is super repairable and easy to upkeep and can be easily modified.

All RV’s should be Fiberglass!.. Resistant to Hail and Leaks and much less stuff to go wrong. Well done Cortes.

My wife and I just bought one out of Payson, UT, we live in Phoenix... We love it, we tow it with our 2020 Sierra AT4 3.0L, it like it isn't even back there... It is stark at first, but you can easily decorate the walls with applique's, suction cup hangers for items, alien tape things where you want them, etc., you get the point... They use quality products in this thing, not disappointed at all. I do have to mention, the little dinette is not fat guy friendly and really, that's the only complaint so far, just means I need to spend more time outside. Our's has a 42 gal fresh, 32-gal grey and a 16-gallon black, there is room for two batteries and two 20lb propane tanks on the front hitch. The company is great to work with and genuinely listens to feedback from customers, you can have one custom ordered and speak directly to the owners of Cortes about some ideas of yours. It is a pricey unit but if you want to make one purchase and don't mind the size, Cortes Campers should make the top of your list.

Love the content. As an Oliver owner the craftsmanship and quality drew me to them. The brightness inside closed the deal once I saw one in person at the factory. The double hull assembly and shape make for a solid product that’s easily towed.

We have a 17 foot Casita and love it. The Casita has carpeted walls which eliminates condensation on the walls and cuts down on the "echoing". The Casita is lighter and towing is easy. We just got a Chevy Colorado and you can hardly feel the trailer being towed. I do, however, like the bathroom setup in the Cortes.

My wife and I have a 2005 Casita 17 Freedom Deluxe that we purchased at the end of 2015. We have camped eight seasons in it for a total of 370 nights. We have towed it to 15 states and over 30,000 miles of towing. We love that it has everything you need without any excesses. There is a bed for sleeping, a two person dinette with swivel chairs, a kitchen and a wet bath. It is easy to tow with our midsize SUV that has a V-8. About any vehicle rated to tow 5000 pounds can tow a trailer like the Cortez. Molded fiberglass campers are wonderful!

I’ve got another brand of fiberglass, Oliver, and always glad to see more builders. The dinette with one seat and bathroom aren’t my favorite for layout. For me I was drawn to quality of build, size and my Oliver is very easy to tow.

My first thought is it's like the inside of a refrigerator....but that is a good thing! All the corners are eased...not right angles...so it's easy to clean or hose down! I'm over the traditional particle board cabinets that squeak and creek ....and the odor.....Eau de cheap! I like it...maybe with better lighting or textures in the fiberglass there can be a more elegant appearance. Was this a double shell camper with insulation? I think it is very versatile with the convertible dining area into a very large sleeping area. Acrylic windows? eh! You know they will scratch with every cleaning. How much was this one?

My first Rv was a Bigfoot. These molded fiberglass RVs are such a different animal than stick built RVs. Smaller, more robust, not necessarily lighter, much longer lasting than similarly sized traditional RVs. They also tend to cost more, but you get what you pay for here.

I love the design and compactness of the smaller molded fiberglass trailers. I just wish that they could be capable of gaining more ground clearance. Size wise, they’re amazing for maneuvering. All the needs none of the extra stuff that you don’t need.

I like it - mainly because I wouldn't need a truck to tow it. I like the 17 model because it has at least one seating position while in bed mode, which is one of the big things I dislike about most campers of this type. The reasonably large bathroom is another big plus. As I'm sitting here in a hotel room in TX, I am really wishing I had something like this.

When someone can invent a wheel lock from the inside of the camper so when you leave someone doesn't steal your camper, or even have the whole hitch go under the camper and then lock while camping that person will become rich. It also should alert on the hitch that it is in lock mode, so you don't take off with it in lock mode... well you wouldn't be able to take off with it.. Cuz I know people can break the locks as it is.

We lived in an rv park in buckeye Arizona for v 5 years. My next door neighbor had this trailer. Very well insulated and water tight.

This is exactly what our daughter is looking for. She is in her mid 30"s and single. She loves camping but wants something that will last a long time that is easy to maintain.

It’s cute. Definitely not a camper for a family but it would make a nice starter camper for a couple. And since it already has a little dinette, I would just make the bed up at the larger dinette and leave it that way. That way you don’t have to keep changing it back and forth for no reason. Cool video!

My wife and I looked at several fiberglass hull TTs before deciding on an Oliver. At $55K, this Cortez 17 is slotted between the larger Escape 21/5.0 and an Oliver LE1. I like the size of the refrigerator and the exterior colors, but not that dinette.

Great for a single person or long weekend - and the more common brand similar to this is very well-built (I’m sure this one is as well). However, as a retired couple out for three to six weeks at a time, I think the space would get a little bit tight. Great quick look at these popular campers!

Met a snowbird in Cedar Key Florida some years back who had been living in a Scamp 14 for 5 years, his wife passed and he bought one and he and his dog spent the winters in Florida, Texas, or Mexico. He was towing it with a minivan (gave him the storage space he didn't have in the trailer).

That's a wet bath no matter how you spin it lol and the lack of a proper door is a major oversight on their part. I think they did a lot right on these to close the gap between a Casita and an Oliver but the bathroom and single seat dinette are likely deal killers for most. If they could fix those two design issues they might have a huge seller on their hands in the FGRV world. That said, for the prices I am seeing on these you might as well get an Oliver Elite and be done. Fix those two things and sell them at $45-50K loaded out and they will fly off the lot as fast as they can produce them.

Wouldn't have any water coming into it causes a problem. Easy to wash out. Stickers would take away the interior being bright.

I totally love the interior style - it's nice & bright - that white which is a nice contrast to the typical Grey tone panelled Cabinetry seen in just about every RV nowadays. I find that gray tone very depressing/boring - both in the Cabinetry and on the floors, so again, the white is a really nice change. I also like the flush styling of the storage overhead because it's not as bulky and intrusive on that space up there as the typical wood cabinets you see. I do like the combination shower/toilet - comfortable and easy-to-use the toilet seat while showering. I like that it has a real oven and a nice deep sink. As a single person, this would work as an art room for me - to live out of full-time. I would like to see the bed at the furthest most back portion of the unit for a small twin bed so it's actually facing the front of the vehicle like a seat in a car, then make a lagoon-style table coming out from the wall next to it. That would be my personal workstation to create my crafts and cards as well as a ready-made bed so you don't have to set it up and break it down every night. I would use swivel chairs to the opposite of that for company but I would rather have storage for my art supplies for that area as well as the single seated station is. Really nice unit! I love The Styling on the outside as well that it's retro and painted and nice bright fun colors.

Very cool. Totally dig the minimalistic approach. Only thing lacking is some sort of privacy for the bathroom, I guess you could somehow add a curtain? Looks very solid. Wonder about the price though. Good stuff

The shades need to be flipped, so that the darker side is on the bottom. That way the privacy is a bit more assured.

Not likely. JD didn’t mention anything about hitting his head, so it should have at least 6’ of interior height. That AC sticks up another foot or so from the roof. Plus, you probably have a foot of room between the road and the bottom of the RV. That is 8’.

I agree. I don’t think that fiberglass would hold up for very long to tiny rocks and road debris that gets kicked up by those tires.

Casita has been making campers much like this for quit some time. Even models that are 10 years old don’t have the same depreciation as a typical RV does. They have a reputation for lasting, and not leaking or deteriorating.

They are along the same same lines as Oliver, Casita and Scamp. Folks..you get what you pay for especially with Rvs. You could by the same size Sunray and that thing would be lucky to make it through a few seasons.
