Make no mistake; Salsa was created by Puerto Ricans and Cubans in New York City with a few groups in the 1950's that merged Afro Cuban music with existing Jazz musical influences. There was also input from Cubans that established themselves in Mexico City to further move this form of what was generally termed 'Latin Music' or 'Latin Caribbean Music.' The term Salsa itself wasn't universally accepted until the early 1970's. It's important to note though that even in Salsa music, there is undeniable influence from Jazz music that came before; and of course, 'Latinos' had nothing to do with the creation of Hip Hop. There won't be any unity of any sort if there are Non-FBA insisting on propagating lies and taking credit for something they did not create nor help create.
