Swedish hard rockers Crazy Lixx are back with another gem of an album that harkens back to the best of ‘80s hard rock, while also keeping a foot firmly planted in the 21st century. “Forever Wild” further cements the band's status as one of the leaders of the Scandinavian led hard rock revival, cleverly melding a sleaze/hair metal approach (reminiscent of Motley Crue, Warrant, and Winger) with voracious hooks and melodies.
With huge choruses, instantly memorable riffs, wailing, emotive guitar solos, and massive production by Danny Rexon and Chris Laney, "Forever Wild" is sure to resonate with old fans and new listeners alike. Singer Danny Rexon says, "Ruff Justice was the first album where I took on the full role of producer, including recording, engineering, editing and some of the mixing. Naturally, there were things that I learnt along the way and, in retrospect, things that could have been done better. On the new album, I was once again the producer, but this time I brought in a whole lot more experience with me and had a clearer picture of what needed to be done to get a GREAT sounding album. So, you could definitely say that the new album is a natural progression from 'Ruff Justice'. It’s actually the first time in the history of the band where the same band members have recorded under roughly the same conditions, in the same studios, with more or less the same equipment and with the same producer. For the first time, you can hear continuity from one album to the next, so I’d say if you’re a fan of 'Ruff Justice', I bet you’ll enjoy this new album the same, if not even more!"
The band explores a wider range of styles than ever before on “Forever Wild”. From the hard rocking and anthemic opening track “Wicked” to the AOR inspired upcoming single “Silent Thunder,” to songs like "Eagle", that sounds like it came off a Bon Jovi album circa 1986, Crazy Lixx manage to blend a love and reverence for ‘80s hard rock with their own unique stamp on each track. Rexon continues, "I think the way the album turned out has a lot to do with the current line-up that we established in 2016. I’ve always been a fan of melodic hard rock and hair metal, but with previous members, we’ve been pulling a bit more in different directions at times, so the result hasn’t always gone towards the goal I’d like them too, certainly not as much as it has on this album. I can honestly say that the way Crazy Lixx sounds today is a lot closer to how I envisioned the band to sound in the early 2010’s (around the time of 'New Religion') than how we actually sounded 5-6 years ago."
With “Forever Wild", Crazy Lixx have set the bar very high against their own revered and celebrated catalog. Their best album yet? We’d say so!
Don’t miss Crazy Lixx while they’re on the road in support of the album either, as their live shows are a sight to behold! Danny concludes, “On release day (May 17th), we have an album release show in our hometown of Malmö, along with fellow Frontiers band Creye. I’d recommend this event for all the fans that want to see some new songs live for the first time and get a chance to hang out with the band, get the new album signed, and all that fun stuff. After that, we’re lining up a bunch of summer festivals to kick off touring. I think there is a definite summer vibe to this album and the new songs will really fit well on an outdoor summer festival. Really looking forward to this summer’s shows.”

@UnclearPine2201 5 лет назад
Danny Rexon did a Q&A on FB a few days ago and he said the country that they gets them the most streams and album sales is the US. He said the reason they haven't toured is because the work visas are expensive and take a long time to get. So Americans are supporting them, it's just the visas that are the issue preventing them from touring. Which is odd because bands that aren't nearly as good, or as popular can seem to tour in the US. But financially it may be tough too for them.

I never liked the term "hair metal". It's an extension of that era, of style and excess. What a lot of people never realized was that under that glitz were some pretty complex musical scores. If someone who never saw what those bands looked like, they'd put them in the same category as AC/DC, Boston, Journey, Led Zep, The Who (maybe), Foreigner, Cheap Trick etc...of the 70's aka "Party Rock" bands. It was all about having a good time, living and laughing with friends. I bet these guys work harder than All of the Top 40 pop artists/bands combined. What we see is their stress release from Their work. It's their party time and we're invited.

@@andysixxlett2632 Alive, yes. But not well by a longshot. I mean, we have the big fish like Slipknot and KoЯn, and, of course, Linkin Park (although not won't be the same without Chester), and then we have a bunch of post-grunge bands, but they won't rise to popularity in the same way as they used to be in the Nineties and early Naughties. What I have seen, however, is a rise in popularity of classic rock styles like Psychedelic rock (Greta Van Fleet) and hair metal (Steel Panther). The darker tone of the Naughties has become a cliché of itself and the idea that it always represents the misunderstood and the outcasted has become redundant to a point of annoyance. Anger is better than depression, so people don't want music that says how soft we are. They want music that raises the middle finger and states, "I won't go by your rules, I won't comply, I will be me, whether you like it or not. I am not a whiny child, I am a rebel and will fight for my right to be free." That is the true nature of rock'n'roll, that is the main reason for why it became revolutionary. Nu metal pales in comparison, sorry not sorry.
@andysixxlett2632
@andysixxlett2632 4 года назад
@@stefantsarev4442 Heck yeah! I totally see your viewpoint!! Music is an incredible thing that has sadly been watered down by cliches.... but ... Falling in Reverse did recently just land a #1 on Billboard with Popular Monster which technically is a Nu-Metal song so it's a little difficult to say Nu Metal isnt seeing a revival.
@stefantsarev4442
@stefantsarev4442 4 года назад
@@andysixxlett2632 If one song becomes a hit, that doesn't necessarily mean the whole genre makes a revival. I believe that Popular Monster became popular not because of the quality of the song itself or because of having a brand new tone, since it is neither amazing nor fresh in my opinion, but because the American metalheads have grown tired of all the shitcore, don't like the heavier genres and simply wanted to feel that authentic metal vibe that used to rule. The problem is, that when most people in the USA and Canada are asked what metal means to them, they usually say black clothes, black hair, isolation, depression, use of drugs etc, because this has been the popular premise in the last 30 years, ever since the Grunge explosion. Grunge exploded because of hair metal - people got tired of songs about sex, drugs and rock'n'roll. The European scene in the 80s was different, heavy metal was a lot more nuanced and deep - there were good songs and there were evil songs, in an epic battle there would be a heavy metal song about both the hero and the villain, because, though they are on the two ends of the spectrum, both are badasses who never apologise for their actions. Listen to, for example, Judas Priest: they have a song about becoming a rebel (Breaking The Law), revenge (The Sentinel), a monster (Nightcrawler), high speed (Turbo Lover) and party time (Living After Midnight). They showed that metal is so versatile that can describe every emotion in a person. Now, regarding Crazy Lixx - unlike Steel Panther, who are a self-aware parody band, these Swedish guys are seriously trying to remind us that rock and metal don't only mean darkness and being misunderstood, they want people to have a good time whilst sounding epic and awesome. And people do return to the heavy metal and hair metal, because it is awesome and relatable to all of us.

This singer reminds me so much of the singer of Danger Danger, who was a text-book example of a typical 80’s rock band. This band does a stunning job of taking us back to those days. One thing this band doesn’t capture is how the bands in the 80’s weren’t making bullsh*t political statements. We all loved our country, and were on the same page about it. There was none of this co-dependent, entitled, professional-victim BS that’s infecting ever aspect of our culture today.

Ease up that riff or something VERY similar to it is in over a thousand great rock songs It's a typical 80's Metal Riff you surely don't think Poison wasn't also influenced by another song they heard to come up with Fallen Angel? What really matters is where you go with the tune after the riff and what you build around it to make the song your own! This is a bad ass tune and so incredibly refreshing to hear "FUN" 80's type Rock/Metal Again in 2018 & 2019. This music is all FUN puts you in a great mood when you listen to it makes you wanna pick up a guitar or party instead of most of the Doomish depressing stuff popular nowadays. I love it Bring it on!! I'm going to check out ALL the bands on this label now!! Don't think for a minute that music from the 80's will ever die even today...even Icons from that era are still going very strong! Queensryche's new effort is AMAZING and check out bands like The End Machine, Burning Rain, Revolution Saints, I think you'll be surprised at some of the familiar faces you'll see in those bands & L.A. Guns new CD is BAD ASS as well!
