Ubud is beautiful! It was one of my favorite places in Bali. And the monkeys are cute but crazy at the same time. Thanks for sharing your adventures! -Amelia
On one trip up the Teesta River valley in West Bengal (to visit my in laws) we saw (and captured in a photo) a monkey sitting on a rock by the road side, calmly eating crisps/potato chips out of a bag that he/she had stolen from some unsuspecting person. You did well to steer clear of them but got some great footage, as always! Loved the sunrise shot - there's something magical about sunrise in the tropics :)
God I swear, I almost thought we booked the same villa, until I saw the pool. Haha. Bali's culture is amazing. Not a fan of the monkeys though, but they're certainly cute.
Very nice video..I still can't get over Dwaraka...btw, I did my very best to avoid the Monkey Forest because I am very afraid of the monkeys there, otherwise the place is very nice and peaceful, I can see...Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing the next videos!
Well we werent as sketched out as what we thought so maybe its worth having a crack next time to see if you can brave them haha. Thanks for always leaving a great comment as well btw 🤘🏼
About time you finally proposed! How can you let Stacy waited for so long geezzzzz! Anyways congrats to you and lovely Stacy! Now back to traveling! When is the Day? Abroad or Australia!
Hahaha it was definitely about time! Had plans in the Philippines but they actually fell through! No idea when the wedding will be, neither of us are in a rush at this point but will definitely be overseas ✈️
That forest in 2003 was literally just an entrance off the main road and just as freaky. Bali lifting its game!! Nice vid guys! We won’t blame you for Panasonic’s autofocus 😉
Unfortunately, I was bit in the Monkey Forest this year. No fun! Interestingly, we were both in Ubud at the same time 😉 We probably passed each other at some point haha. The next time you are there, you should visit Bumi Sehat to show the wonderful things that they do for the village, Bali in general, and internationally. It is across the soccer field from Mother. Bumi is a clinic that provides free maternity and birth services for those that live in Bali. Foreigners travel from around the world to birth there as well. They pay only a small fee. Its a very beautiful place to be able to bring a child into this world. The founder , Ibu Robin Lim (who is also one of the midwives) was 2011CNN Hero of the Year. Bumi Sehat works soley off donations. A wonderful place to stay is Bumi Peace Kitchen. Its actually on Ibu Robins family compound right up the road from Mother. You get traditional Bali living while being taken care of by Robin's beautiful family. Her husband Will is a wonderful cook ❤
I’m making my way through your videos and makes notes because my husband and I are coming to Bali (from North Carolina) next month! I’m skeptical about two things: the monkey forest and transportation 😅 Your content is spot on! Keep up the great work!👍🏻
I wonder about a temp. # and humidity # as text in the bottom corner of a video at some point so we'd know that info? What do you guys think? Great work.
We have these in Manila as well, especially near the train stations and even on jeepneys. They remarkably drive taxis too which is well documented by other youtubers. Love your videos, not only beautifully shot but also informative.
Hey guys, what an amazing vlog with the monkeys, great filming.... the door bell and the free treats..... I am trying to work that one out..... I have been to monkey forest, it felt like you where in Indiana jones and the temple of doom an amazing place.... I wasn't sure what the monkeys fascination of butt scratching was but there was a lot of that when I was there..... enjoy your time..... your living the dream....
The door bell thing was referring to our last video, I pressed the bell thinking it was a DND or something but it wasnt! Just being my cheeky self haha. Yeah there was a lot of the ol butt scratching going on for sure, edited some of it out cos theres only so much of that people need to see
I noticed you guys got into a car. Did you use a car for your transportation or go by scooter? Going to be traveling with a toddler and trying to find the best mode of transport.
I love how you do your spread😊! I watch so many monkey videos all the time and I am always amazed how clean they are but you showed me the real deal, they are quite dirty and they have hep c or d or whatever, that's scary!! New sub here can't wait to see what's next
Yay ,,,you found the Dragon Bridge at Monkey Forest. We kept going down but couldn't get to the bottom.(back in 2004). That place is much expanded. And you have some new music happening. Congratulations on the Proposal. Ubud brings out the best in you ,,,,,,

Awesome :) just to let you know "Vaikunta" the place where you are staying literally translates to "where the gods live in heaven" in Sanskrit. Undoubtedly this the way i always wanted to live my life. You guys are putting it on screen for me.
oh... and my wife was wondering if you could talk about the mosquito issue in the different places you have been. Did you get immunized for anything or/and what kind of repellent do you use - if you use one? Our flight to Chiang Mai is at the end of August and we'll be there for over six months to a year. We will visit Cambodia and Vietnam too, to try and find a full time place to call home.
My doc recommended immunizations for hep A and B as well as typhoid. I tried all natural remedies and nothing worked.... Bring something from home, 30% deet. All 7-11s in Thailand seemed to carry this awesome mosquito repellent, it was 30% deet. Totally needed, BC mosquitos love me!!!
lol.. dont look them in the eye... hilarious ! i am nervous about it but what a cool experience i am guessing and now you live to tell the tale lol and omg 600 !!! wow !!
Thanks so much for this video guys! Going in 2 weeks and had the same apprehension as you but now I see it’s not that bad if you behave appropriately 👌
Stacey being open to rabies is hilarious! I paid for the entrance fee at that place and turned back the moment I first saw a monkey. Unlike Stacey, I am not open to rabies. HAHAHA!
The dragon bridge and retaining walls still look the same. The entrance looks quite different. I'll be taking my wife and daughter there some time in the next few years.
My wife grew up in Da Nang. We're in Salt Lake City now and plan to retire in Vietnam, hopefully in ricefield country within a couple miles of the coast, somewhere between Hoi An and Da Nang. Remember where all those graveyards are? That's about 9 years down the road. I'm thinking Bali for October-November when the rain is at it's worst in central VN. Anyway, I really enjoy seeing all your videos, keep them coming!
Yup know exactly where you’re talking about. Although there is LOADS of construction and enormous resorts going up around there. Lots of unhappy people! Sure you guys will find it already have a great spot sorted though 👌🏼
Did you guys follow the rule of not making eye contact with the monkeys? I would be extremely apprehensive as well! lol Its a beautiful place BUT Hahahaaa 😎✌🏽
Yes they will take your loose items and run away. Sunglasses are their favourites! You have to ask the locals to help you get it back for a ransom which is food. 😂😂😂
This monkeys if you stare at them they will take it as a challenge. If you smile at them with your teeth showing, they will take it that you are aggressive and will attack. LOL
Monkeys = Bad News. They can be vicious and you have no defenses against an aggressive wild animal. Best to steer clear and protect yourself and your belongings. In all honesty, the little beasts seem like bad humans reincarnated. Went one time to the monkey forest back in the 80's and that was enough. Same shenanigans when visiting the Uluwatu temple. A total distraction.
