I'm with you Michael, I really love this one. Since I'm a single with a half ton pk, I really don't want a monster camper. But I think I'd opt to have a washer dryer hookup added, I'd go with a smaller bed down size to a double just to allow more space to dress in the bedroom. I do like the double bathroom doors I can put my dog in there while I'm out shopping or whatever. We're happy with this one. Oh and thanks Uncle Josh, I can't wait for a no slide out version of this one but if they never make on I'd take this one in a heartbeat. 😊
Nice, creative unit! I like the recliners without the dividers, the breakfast/ dining bar, the swinging entertainment/ fireplace, and the totes under the bed. + Good shower & road mode!
Josh, love the effort you put into all your videos and the information you share! This is a great floor plan, and you are spot on with the innovation coming out of the Wildwood folks. I'd love to see the concepts in this floor plan in a 24ish foot 4500-5500 floor plan for those that want the smaller, lighter travel trailers.
That FP in the bathroom option is wild! I agree with the bed size. You can't get sheets to fit that, can you? The road mode is perfect! Thanks for another great video, Josh! Have a great week! 😊
Thanks Uncle Josh for showing us the good, bad, road mode and bringing humour to your well done videos. I love the layout of this camper, only a couple of things I would change is, the bed should be a true queen and cabinet doors in the washroom.
I don't regret leaving. I love what I do now, just wrapped up a 26k dollar kitchen remodel. I'm still very proud of what I did and the team does at Wildwood and Salem. I spent nearly a decade in that building and 20 years at forest river. I can tell you, they are passionate and excited about everything. I loved being a part of that and often was involved in coming up with new ideas and ways to make ideas work within the confines of quality and code standards. It's no easy task I promise you that, but was very rewarding.
This is a really nice camper. I'm with you: LOVE the counter / bar dining. The awning 'could' be bigger if they opted for split windows in that bedroom. Run the awning down the center of them. I don't think it's be much window 'sacrifice' as there's another giant window in the bedroom. Thanks for this review Josh! 🙋♀
I hope the higher end manufacturers are paying attention here. This is an amazing layout! Pick a real world bed size so the owners can pick their own level of luxury mattress and this is a home run! Electrical plug ins under the bar would be better with built in USB connections on them too. Love this one. Cheers!
This model hits alot of my wants. I like separated bath and kitchen, and no hot exhaust on camp side. Breakfast bar is great but Id need dinette too - need a place for game night. 😉 Overall, i really like it!
As I watch, what an interesting idea with the swing out fireplace/entertainment wall. And, yes please, a 60 x 80 queen with 3" more wardrobe on both sides.
Very interesting and different. I like the inclined bed. Should be a regular queen for bedding. Very usable kitchen/dining. All this in 28"? Amazing! I can see why you like it! I do too!
I’m diggin that rig Adding to your points, I’d move the microwave, put a big drawer under the stove, a different recliner, a bit deeper tub ….I have a hard time letting go of a dinette. It checks a lot of boxes
Amazing!!! THIS is the one! The versa fireplace/TV share combo is terrific. Love those arches, Love the king size bed. Does need a separate mini microwave to plug in during road mode, which could easily store in the pantry.
I'm with you, Josh. I kinda like this too! Not crazy about having the double sliding doors, would rather have both sliding doors just be single but this is a really cool floor plan. As for a walk through bath, we have it and it isn't a problem because neither of us "camps" in the bathroom 😅, we can wait a couple of minutes if we have to get through.
Great video again. OMG, I can't stop laughing at your demo of "poop scootin' boogie"! Very interesting layout with some really cool features. I'm not sure about the bed...looks like a nightmare to try to keep a sheet on. I'm surprised you didn't mention the 2 foot slicer floor vents right in the walkway. I figure that is the only place they can put them, though. If they make it slideless, it's really going to cut into the stove/sink area. Maybe move the sink and stove to the camp side and move the bar to the back. Sorry, just throwing things against the wall to see what sticks.
Well isn't that clever? Nice use of space. Really like the kitchen setup with all the windows & bar. Not a fan of the versa bed but I can see why some would like it.
Man, how wonderful it is to see stick and tin trailers look SO great and still so affordable! Thank you Uncle Josh! "The Master of The RV Universe" 🚀 ✨ 🌒 ✨ ✨ 🌏 ✨ 🛰️✨🛰️🌕
We looked at one of these locally at the end of august as soon as it was delivered and bought it on the spot. We love it even though we’ve spent a bit on outfitting it the way we want. Suspension upgrades will probably be next year and better tires. Added tv, cell booster, 5G internet, TPMS, inverter, and backup cameras so far.
That's a very Cool 😎 Wildwood Travel Trailer 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊 1 suggestion for 5he Wildwood group move that propane RV stove/oven away from the wall a bit other than that this is is a very nice and well thought out floorplan/layout 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊
We saw this at our local Forest River dealer last fall. We loved it and seriously considered purchasing. Very roomy inventive layout, BUT, we hated some of the more cheesy appointments. China bombs, plastic toilet, flimsey-ish interior doors. Wasn't really sure about the suspension or brakes. But, it did have a quality 'more quiet' AC. It can take a king or queen mattress. We walked away, but would love it if this was (for example) built to the FR MicroLite standards.
Love this. Definitely queen bed and I would love to see someone incorporate an island in something like this that could be put under the breakfast bar when the slide comes in.
This is weirdly amazing! Not much to complain about. I am no fan of dinettes, so the bar is awesome. The only design feature I'm not a fan of is that arch thing. I've seen it in several of your videos lately. I'm sure many will like it, but I'm no fan. Makes me think of a smurf house or a troll house for some reason LOL. Thanks!
Ok, that swivel tv / fireplace is brilliant! I'm really starting to love the bar VS dinette idea. Saves a ton of space. Also doubles as kitchen prep/cleanup counterspace. I just can't do the "dinofa" thing. Kills my back. Don't like floor vents, but not a deal breaker. For the sink toekick, some suggest opening one door, and resting a foot there. The breeze there must be in that bedroom! Definitely would prefer a true queen bed. Is that a special folding mattress, or could I sub a queen in there? I wonder if a regular foam mattress would "hold the fold"? One thing that would make it perfect, would be if you could turn that TV fireplace unit towards the bedroom while the slide is closed. That would make it Walmart overnight compatible. All in all, this is a really well executed floorplan, and a definite contender for me, even if it's a "stick & fibreglass"...
I LOVE all the windows! I have been looking for a window-forward RV since falling in love with the grey wolf RDSE but wanting a couch + eating area. And I totally agree about the standard bed size. I like the extra width, but it seems like the two inches to make the Olympic queen should be pretty easy to include! And I agree about the no slide version as well! I love the simplicity of being slide-free.
We done the Salem version a few months ago and we absolutely loved this Floorplan! Well designed for ppl that don’t want the dinette or table and chairs! Thank you josh!
Really like this, and it looks great new. I don't trust filon walls and wood framing. If this was aluminum framed with Azdel walls in and out I would definitely consider this one.
I really like this model!!! I would love for it to be a little over a foot shorter so it would be accessible to all the state national parks spots that would make this so very over the top!! Great job of showing this unit as usual Josh ❤
I love just about everthing about this RV.....only con for me is no outdoor ice box.....fireplace while in the shower? Devine 😊....this one is now 1st or second on my list...
Love the windows again lol. I don't like pocket doors though. The grand design I have has come loose with the bumping around while driving. Also one thing I love with our old Rockwood was the window over the bed cause you can see the stars at night lol
Lots to love about this model! I love the dining bar because I could really use the extra workspace. I also love theater seating right across from the tv. The tilt a bed is great and I love all the windows. I don’t think I would use the entertainment/fireplace wall as a bathroom wall, however. If I was somewhere cold, I love the idea of the tootsie toaster warming up the bathroom, but I just can’t wrap my head around the tv being that close to a humid shower. Then there’s the question about where I would put a rack for our e-bikes.
Nice quirk for that fireplace configuration. Much easier to heat with just the fireplace. I'd like removable shelves in the pantry with washet/dryer hook up plumbing. There for those that would use it and no impact to those who don't have a need. And also little cost to install by the mfgr. Increases resale value I'm sure.
This is awesome. It is definitely my new favorite. If a no-slide version came along, then it would be even better. My Silverado would love pulling this.
Lot of good stuff in this one. Great counter section up to the window. My two big aesthetic dislikes, they keep doing, are the cheap linoleum-tile look floor and that dark arch thing around the bathroom.
This would be great if you had family that camped in small trailers or tents. You could come together and cook in this kitchen and send them out when you were ready for bed!
Hey Uncle Josh, Race Bannon’s Godson here again, I think this trailer has raised the bar in innovative features. I seriously love this layout! And the Tootsie Toaster right there in the bathroom and the tv above it visible from the bed at bedtime will greatly aid in convincing Haji’s little sister over for a Netflix and chill date!!
With the pantry and the pantrytainment I feel like hanging storage should be added somewhere. If it was wide enough on the wall near bathroom maybe only have 3/4 length shelf and a hanging rack. This from a guy who hasnt folded a shirt in years tho
That floorplan is outstanding. I love the kitchen and the overall size is great. A perfect couples TT. I am very impressed with this design and the price point, wow. 66"x78" is more of a queen bed.
Honestly this would be a great short to middle length stay travel trailer for a couple, it would be a bit tight for a long term stay, and the walkthrough bathroom would make it challenging for families, but yes a great couples trailer for actual camping and not parking for long term stays.
Love it!! The swing entertainment/fireplace is spot on. My only complaint is the style of the couch , would prefer traditional single color, the recliner/theater seat is fine, I’d rather have a trifold sofa , but not the modern 2 tone color combo. Love the size, a no slide version would be nice, twin beds, ( make for easier getting up and out😉) we love the view series, the innovative designs they’ve been putting together are very thoughtful. My husband wants lots of windows (camp side and in the back, not in a bathroom) , very impressed with their efforts
Cool layout save for the entertainment center, it's kinda hokey. The last place I want warm air blowing at me through is the toilet. Also seems chunky for a sub 30ft camper.
Great review of an interesting camper. This is clearly a couples only camper and that is nice to see. I LOVE the corner windows in the kitchen. Counter dining is fine for me, but I'm not sure if the stove tucked into that corner is going to work well. If it were possible to have the stove one cabinet unit to the left it would be even better. The toilet area feels very tight. It would be nice if this were six inches longer to make a larger shower and toilet space so the stool could be angled a bit as well. Love the windows in the bedroom. I think this has a lot of promise and want to see how these ideas translate into new models over the next few years.
I'm not saying that I want this just to have a fireplace in my bathroom, but I'm not not saying that. This is exactly the kinda camper I would want. SOlo traveler that takes multi week work trips couple times a year.
Like some features like the dining bar and the big slide out. Not a fan of the toilet which you said had plenty of space but that was with the door open. Close that door and it is a knee buster. If you have a satellite dish there is no place to put your receiver so the remote can activate it. Don't like the location of the power outlets in the bedroom. Do like all the storage and the big windows.
Absolutely love everything about this. The only dealbreaker is “stick built”. Make this an aluminum frame and I’ll be the first one in line to buy! Would also love to see a small wardrobe slide in the bedroom with maybe a small window, otherwise perfect !!
It’s a simple thing, but I really like the radius wall. I’ve see it on some other Salem/Wildwood trailers and I really like it. Between that and the versatilt bed and versa lounge, think they’re really d functional.
Thanks Nerd!!! On the entertainment center, why do they put the cord hole on the opposite side of the door from where the wall connections are???Would it not make more sense and less needed cord to put that hole on the other corner? If the manufacturer is worried about cords getting caught in the hinges, put a cord hook up there for the excess. Adore the dual access doors to the bathroom. Opens it up and this is a couples/single camper not a family camper, so loving it. 60x80 please. This is awesome. The crazy is optional.
I really like this layout and design.. Seems perfect for couples. The only thing I would like to see is a washer/dryer prep added to it somewhere. That might not quite be possible in the size that it is but if 2 or 3 feet were added to the length, I am sure a washer/dryer closet could be added somewhere.
Josh, I am 100% with you that they should all just use normal size beds. I find these RV specific nonsense sizes immensely frustrating, especially when they advertise them in ways clearly intended to trick people in to believing they're normal sizes. Queen is 60x80. King is 76x80. Anything else is not either of those and should not be called either of those. Less common but still standard sizes like Olympic Queen, Full XL, etc. are fine just stop calling them what they're not and leave the truly nonstandard sizes for super-compact rigs that can't do better. Made up bed sizes and non-LED lighting are two things that I think every RV vendor should be called out on when they try to pull it off. There's no excuse for either.
