Yes and no. The whole reason everyone was together and in town was for the wedding so it was central to the storyline and this moment between the leads is spectacular
1:26 the river in the scene actually has a special meaning. Chinese people use 永浴愛河 as their best wish to the bride and groom during the wedding. It means wish the newly couple will bath in the love river and be together forever. This is why they put the river in the scene. So they can be together forever. This is definitely a dream wedding from an Asian perspective.
from a Japanese love story scene ... something like both from different world , river is the link to reach each other and the fireflies is to show the path.
I don't know whether to play this song and steal this scene...... or Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel at my wedding when/if I walk down the aisle....someday. 🤔
so many will try and meet the challenge, but they will fail. "like a river flows..." , dramatic pause "so take my hand..." perfect symbolism. Whoever wrote it deserves recognition for this scene alone.
I had this song on repeat in the hospital when my fiance was on hospice. When I 1st played it not an eye was dry even the nurse was crying. Now my life isn't here anymore and I play this cause he sang it to me when we were together..😢😢😢
This scene is beautiful. Not only can you feel the love between the two but the hurt Rachel is feeling. You can see that she is struggling though she is so in love with nick. That’s what makes me Ball my eyes out is the love they both have and especially the love Rachel has for nick and at the same time her eyes showing how much she is struggling in the whole moment. The actress is so amazing she really is 👏👏
choking up...I worked at many weddings and this song is just completely emotionally overwhelming, waterfalls start flowing and some father's daughter become another's wife....and the world move on
Man. When the music stop. Just to take a moment for this both couple to stare each other was the best choice by the director made.. My eyes wet. How beautiful this is.

Wise men say Only fools rush in But I can't help falling in love with you Shall I stay? Would it be a sin If I can't help falling in love with you? Like a river flows Surely to the sea Darling, so it goes Some things are meant to be Take my hand Take my whole life too For I can't help falling in love with you Like a river flows Surely to the sea Darling, so it goes Some things are meant to be Take my hand Take my whole life too For I can't help falling in love with you For I can't help falling in love with you
My bride walked down the aisle to this song. Many wives don't get the chance to do it nor husband get to see it. I did. She's my bride. She's my all. She balled, so did I. I'm doing it as I type. I can't live without her. I am now about to hold her with all the love I know how to give. I love her so much.
I loooovvveee this song! Walking down the aisle to it at my wedding 🥹 I didn't want it at first out of fear of being cliché, but this rendition of this song just brings a river of emotions down my throat every single time I hear it. I picture my whole future with life partner and I literally can't help falling in love all over again
Everytime I watch this picturisation I am amazed at the creative genius of the choreographer. Lyrics translated into picturisation. Beautiful from start to finish!
Some songs never fade, it still carries its intoxicating charm. This is not merely a song but a testimony of my adolescent days when I used to listen to it frequently on DD metro. Another gem of him is dekha hai aise bhi 💕
Asian culture it's amazing; their films, music, art in general., from Bruce Lee, Jackie Chang, IP man, and even Crazy Rich film make their culture standout. They have a way of transending even now with young generations, very alike to Latino community... Love this song, and scene! #CrazyRichAsians #Soundtrack #Canthelpfallininlove #WeddingScene #2021 #2023 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
The water flows, the music stops....the bride takes the plunge and the song resumes "...so take my hand...", you can't be more beautiful and poetic than that.
I was coming back from my honeymoon after marrying the love of my life of 9 years when I stumbled upon this movie in flight out of boredom. This song, particularly the scene where they mumble- I love you, tears me up every time. And this song has been stuck with me ever since. felt like a perfect end for my honeymoon ❤
For me the most iconic thing is the fact that everyone was calling Rachel cindrella and she was not owning it up but in this wedding she came dressed like a cindrella and shocked everyone the guts the power love it man ❤
I get tricked every time I try to sing this version of the song because of how long the introduction is. Like, I think it's time for me to come in, but then all of a sudden, we have another 5 million measures to get through.
Was it me, or was Rachel crying such a double meaning… obviously we know she loved Nick… but it almost felt like a “goodbye,” although she didn’t know the grandmother/mother situation wasn’t going to happen, but most of the movie was directed at having so much hatred of her being different… and almost a foreshadow of what was about to happen that night.
