I always thought lying to police dispatch to elicit a response was a crime. Guess not. Or maybe they just selectively enforce that particular crime. Great to see that nice woman stick up for you.
The caller must know the information they are providing the dispatch is completely false and the reason for giving false information is to cause negative and un-necessary issues for the citizens or government. It's hard to convict someone on this because it must be obvious the caller was fully aware the information they provided was fabricated in order to cause harm or discomfort and there is evidence that proves this 100% without a reasonable doubt. How can someone say for certain.....100% what someone knows? We can't most the times....also it was provided over the phone and now you don't have a way to prove the person that is at the post office is the same person dispatch spoke to and even if it is its hard to prove the words dispatch gave police are the exact same words spoken. Because we know someone did something illegal is not enough to convict them for what we know they did........we have to provide solid proof that is beyond a reasonable doubt that they did what we know they did. Sometime the cost to prove what we know isn't worth what we spend to get.
Also it must happen in front of the cops before than can arrest on the spot....or provide enough evidence that gives probable cause to issue an arrest warrant in a sworn avadavat. That is where its common for false reports when they swear and sign their name.

Three sentences: There is no expectation of privacy in public. Anywhere the public is allowed to go, I am allowed to go. I can take pictures and videos of anything I can see from a public space. And remember, everyone has the absolute right to be uncomfortable and learn to deal with those feelings.

Great point and very factual. I did construction but employed by a government agency. I treated every citizen as a tax payer and treated them as such. Sadly I was not the norm. I encounter gov't. employees often with a "because I can" attitude. There are some very helpful folks out there still, not enough though.
As long as these cops think the reason is to antagonize it proves the audits are necessary. Until they change their attitudes about our rights we could use less of them.
