Crazy topwater Striped Bass action in Raritan Bay on the TopKnock and Pencil Popper

In this episode we head to Raritan Bay in late fall/early winter to target Striped Bass on the new colors of the Yo-Zuri 3D Inshore TopKnock Pencil and Pencil Popper. Bass everywhere feeding on peanut bunker and bites on every cast. Check out the action!

I use a 4 1/2 pencil popper.. All year in the hudson people think I'm crazy when I catch stripers in November in the hudson. And believe me there are monsters in that river.

the "topknock pencil" is a spook, not sure why it's called a pencil, and it is my favorite small plastic spook. holds big water well, stands up to hard fishing, action is great and it crushes schoolies but can also pull in very big striped bass. i lost count of how many slot+ fish i caught on that thing last year. probably caught more fish by volume on a zuri spook in bone last year than any other single plug in my bag. switch out the hardware because the hooks are just ok and will not survive a fight with a big bass in current.

Spook is a brand name only used in America, the actual style name used world wide is pencil. Like South Americans calling all lipped minnows Rapalas. Glad the 3D Inshore TopKnock Pencil is working for you.

@@YoZuri brother surfcasting as you and i know it was invented and refined in long island new york, and borrowed techniques from northeast and midwestern bass, walleye, pike, and muskie angling. the spook was invented and popularized by heddon in the 1940's when started molding them in opaque plastic. that is where they got the name. if you want to point me specifically to anywhere else that was mass producing topwater walking lures at the time i would be curious to hear about it. love your products and i mean that. feel free to contact me. Super hot action on a cold windy day! Perfect conditions for striper fishing on the east coast! Great video camera work too! The slow motion really lets you see the baits "Walkin-the-Dawg", and the water's clear enough to see exactly how those stripers are reacting and attacking! What brand and model of snap are you using (tied on) in front of these Yo-Zuri 3D Inshore hardbaits (TopKnock and Pencil Popper)?
