I like this vid because the young penguins stick together and prevail. I’ve seen a number of vids like this where one adult is trying to protect a chich, and they always lose, because none of the other adults help. If the adults would work together, the skuas and the pestrals would go hungry a lot more often. Go Team Junior Penguin!!
Right.. I feel sorry for not being there.. If were I would have killed this bloody Skua.. I cried to see the helplessness of these cute little wonders as if they are searching some help from others..They are so scared why this Skua suddenly came our way.. and i felt a lot of pain when this bloody skua bites them.. These cute little babies are so lovely and adorable i can't tolerate any harm to them.. Even i will kill those who scare them..
Well, hypothetically if these chick's colony number was threatened, I'd throw rocks to that skua, it better go find some carcass or old sick penguins somewhere else. If we're talking about balancing nature. Good thing penguin numbers are always stable, so no intervention should be necessary.
That was some intense teamwork, they kept their backs together so it couldn't get behind them, and their heads raised so it couldn't grab them by the scruff. They havea much easier time tucking their heads to jab at a predator than hitting something behind them!
they r really very good that they r together and defending ,they did not seemd to be very intelligent but they r social and aware of teh sourroundings and very dutiful, it has amzed me,i saw things about penguins but these things i never saw.
They figured out the predator was nervous by the human, and they used him for protection. Thats very clever. They wouldn't go near him otherwise, they're taking a risk.
Hello! I'm Jeena Salonga, a researcher from the Philippines under a media network named "GMA Network, Inc.". I have come across this video of penguins. I would like to ask permission for usage of this video as a material for our segment on the program "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" where we would be doing a segment about penguins. Rest assured that we will give proper credit on your file as we use it. I hope you could let me know about your feedback on this, as soon as possible. Thank you!
Wow, they're protecting their butts since that's their weak spot and how they're usually eaten alive... This is way more entertaining than Marvel vs Capcom...
Damn these three gentoo troublemaking teenagers got hella lucky it decided to provoke a younger inexperienced Skua. They better learn to just run back to the colony instead of stupidly entertaining a Skua by which next time they'll probably run into an ambush tactic and get one of their buddies killed..
Some of it certainly is. A lot of penguins breed, so a lot of young ones die. Last year was very rough as the weather threw off their breeding patterns so a lot of chicks were born too late to be strong enough to live through the winter.
3 penguins: look at the camera man, c'mon man, the evil skua is trying to kill us, help! skua: don't interrupt. leave us alone, man. camera man: keep going, i am recording to upload the fight to youtube $$$.
Well, no wonder skuas evolved from t-rexes (considering that skuas are dinosaurs, too) because of their habit of eating other seabirds, just like t-rexes have a habit of eating other dinosaurs!😏
I doubt evolution. It's nice to be true. But I doubt it... One reason is that nature would have to try a lot a lot of unsuccessful species... like not 1000 but 1 zillion of any sort of species... and we don't see them.
Penguins only defense just about us stand in a circle facing out lol and try to stick together ... for life !!! Idk who made that gangster loud noise hahaha but dang ! Idk why the bird wouldn’t just grab one .. just bc they’re next to each other squawking dished mean they can do much else.. just fly in , Pick one off and go !
I know i’m late, but Penguins’ beaks are pretty sharp. In fact, a Penguin biting you can be a pretty dangerous situation. Yes, the Skua could’ve gone in and plucked one up, but the other two Penguins would’ve hurt it pretty badly. Im not joking either. Penguins may look defenseless, but they can be dangerous, even chicks.
