Thank you very much for your time and posting. So many paddles to choose from now. Five years ago, it was pretty much Selkirk and a few others. And prices are prices. I remember right before the Selkirk Invikta came out at $229. So many (a lot) of players said no way would they pay over $200 for a paddle. Pretty funny. Thanks again.

I know ha I was literally thinking about the same thing the other day. Selkirk went first, everyone else followed and we all still buy multiple paddles.

i have been playing with the 1x 14mm and really like it...I went from the Engage Pursuit which is a great paddle but the CRBN just has a little more spin and pop

Been playing with my 1X 16mm now for the last 2 weeks and it was a very smooth transition from my previous paddle a Gearbox GX6 Control 8.5 oz. Very happy with the CRBN 1X 16 mm.

Thanks for sharing! Yes, transition to these will vary depending on what your previous paddle was. I’m glad you like it, I think a lot of people will like them.

As a current CRBN user I was thinking about getting the 1X to try out the thermoformed body and have an option with a bit more pop. After seeing what they are asking for them I ordered the Vatic Pro so that if I don't like the extra stiffness I'm not out so much. Anything over $200 is a deal breaker for me after about four months of play I'm seeing significant wear on my current T700 paddle.

Nice review. Definitely a premium price. With other options of similar technology and build quality at a lesser price people have options. I have to say I'm more interested in Six Zero, Legacy and Vatic to see how these comparisons shake out. I have a Legacy on order that I'm anxious to try out.

Good, fair review. I have the 6.0 Double Black Diamond and understand what you mean when you say it takes a week or to to adjust to the feel, but when you do, it is perhaps the best all around paddle I have ever played.

Im currently using R1 pulsar and I think it’s great but I want to take a step into more power I feel it’s a little light on drives would the transition to the crbn 1x be a smooth one ? I feel my soft game and touch is really good with the pulsar.
@pickleballeffect

Yes, it would be a very smooth transition. The 1x will give you that little extra power you’re looking for but not so much that it makes it hard to control.

@pickleballeffect

Yes, that's exactly what you do. Tacky overgrips are typically thicker than dry overgrips so use a tacky one if you're just trying to make your handle thicker.

Besides the Gearbox pro, which seems to have quality issues, what model/brand paddle is the fastest mph wise you've ever clocked on a serve?

The Pro Line Energy Paddle by Pickleball Apes and the X2 Pro by Body Helix both have big power from the baseline. Those are the first two that come to mind.

Hi, I am wondering how long will the new crbn paddles last before needing to replace them? I plan to play 1-3 times a week. Thank you.
@pickleballeffect
@pickleballeffect Год назад
Something about the new unibody tech gives the paddles more spin, because these have more spin than the original series even though they have the same gritty surface. But the grit will only last 3-6 months like all other raw carbon fiber paddles.
@Skrimpz562
@Skrimpz562 Год назад
@@pickleballeffect Thank you for replying. Does the 3-6 months apply to all all carbon fiber or only "cross weave" type? Im in the market for a paddle with decent spin but am hesitant if I have to consider 3-6 month life span.

@pickleballeffect
@pickleballeffect Год назад
Of the paddles that are out there that are not thermoformed, I think the Pursuit series plays the most similar to these. The main difference you'll see is a boost in spin with the CRBN 1X. I imagine it would be a pretty easy transition for you.
