Creality Falcon2: Painting Steel with a Laser Beam!

In today's video, I'm going to try out painting a steel plate. There were a lot of challenges in doing this. The main issue was that I could not find any information on the end to end process. I try to demistify the process by walking you step-by-step how you can do this too!

Great information, Ed. I just had the Falcon 2 show up today and I have to get it put together and try it out. I don’t know if I want to try any metal with it but I am looking forward to seeing how it works. I don’t even have it out of the box yet. I think mine is a 12 watt so the speeds and power would certainly be different. Really enjoyed this video, my friend. Take care , …..Gord

I may have missed it, but were you using stainless steel? I believe titanium gives the best results, as far as color vibrancy is concerned, but stainless is acceptable and a bit more cost effective.

It was stainless steel. Titanium is just a bit more expensive. I still might have to try it since stainless steel wasn't quite the results I was looking for. - Ed

That would be awesome. I don't think I have any watches with a back that has any free space on it. I did buy some rings with plans to share a video engraving them with the laser and a rotary tool. The settings will be similar. Keep an eye out for that video. - Ed

nice video very informative. you were using a 2mm steel, would it be less warp if it was thicker, maybe 3mm?

Thank you for watching! That might help, but you would need to change your settings as it's the heat generated by the laser that's actually making the color. - Ed

Great video! I copied your exact parameters for my Falcon 2 but it's not even getting close to marking stainless. Any thoughts of what I am missing?

Maybe your SS code is different. You know, there are many SS types like 316, 304, 4xx, etc. I think you need to find the best laser-friendly SS type.

By any chance. Do you know how to disable Fire alarm completely. I'm working outside and every time sun comes out Fire alarm triggered and it stopes working. It creates a lot of hassle for me. Please, help🙏

Thank you for watching! Yes you should be able to do this with any laser. You will need to experiment with the settings that will work with your machine. - Ed
