I ordered the ModelOnes pudding, and I get it on Saturday. I can't wait to try it! Flooding my cuticles is an aggrivation for me, both with dip liquids and gels. gaargh!! Thanks for sharing your experience. I've watched a bunch of other youtubers use the puddings (I cheated)! And watching you do your first, virgin application is eye-opening. It's nice to know that not everyone is an expert on their first time out with a product!

I do not like thick application of any of the products at the cuticle, so I place the brush tip away from the cuticle area and then push it toward the cuticle area rather than pulling it down the nail bed toward the tip. That prevents the ridging of product at the cuticle and sidewalls without diluting it. Marla, I think if you try that next time, kinda float the pudding (use brush technique like builder gel or hard gel) it might be less streaky and need fewer coats. It will be easier to move around than builder.

They are! I actually just got the neon one a week ago and this video randomly showed up in my suggested so I figured I’d see what someone else thought of it! 😂 I definitely don’t think it’s best for full color on nails, but it’s perfect for nail art!

I have 4 of these and have really only used them for painting a few times. Even so, I find my "paint" gels much better. I don't like them at all for normal full cover gel application, which I tried a few times and on practice hands. I find they don't self level well and I expected them to more opaque as well but I still needed 2 to 3 coats as usual. I really had high hope but I'm glad that others like them! Just not for me.

It self levels so a tiny bit is sufficient! Perfect for newbs especially to stock their own kits to practice on instead of buying lots of individual bottles!

I just recently started using Vettsy pudding gel polish and I love it! I do have a habit of flooding the cuticles and I don't have that problem anymore.

I just ordered some gel pudding from a couple different companies. Trying this weekend and wanted to see what videos were out on youtube. They are a complete different consistency compared to gel polish so I myself wouldn't compare the 2. Will see how it all works out this weekend and see how they do with nail art as well. As always, love your videos!

I absolutely love mine. Did not wet the brush before application....just rolled it around in my hand to loosen the bristles. No streaking issues at all.

Hi Marla 💖 I have never heard of this kind of product until now. Looks like I’ll be skipping it. Pudding sounds more like something I’d eat rather than a consistency to put on my nails 😂 plus I have so many dip powders and gels to use that I need to make space for more things later this year. You were spot on with your evaluation of the pudding gels. There is a learning curve but once you get the hang of it they go on smoothly. You definitely need 2-3 applications and the top coat seems to even the color out. The glitters are a little trickier to apply. You almost have to dab it on, cure for a brief second then pat down and finish curing. I used Maple Leaf and the colors are beautiful. I removed them after 2 weeks because of nail growth but they did not chip or peel. If you like trying new products this is certainly one to try. But my VERY VERY favorite gel polish is Beetles. Their polish goes on smoothly with great opacity and lasts. Their Christmas collection is a winner. Thanks for listening and for all your great videos.

I have a question if that would be OK? I tried the pudding gel last night loved using them ( usually a dip user ) this seem faster and less work. Question removal, do I break the top coat and then use the acetone soak fir removal? Oh one other question, I used a dry brush Marla seems to be her brush wet with the pudding maybe cause for streaking? Thank you in advance ☺️

I loved that Beatles pink shade!! I think it was the prettiest of them all 🤷🏼‍♀️ and I agree about the tan situation 😄 I live in Norway and if I'm lucky I get to have a tan maybe 3 months a year 😆 And whit a lighter pink shade, it's a trick to make my skin look a little bit more tan longer. Even in the winter months, 🥳🧐😄 Florida is one of my "need to go" places before dying 😇🌴 Sending love from Norway!!

Gel pudding is a trend in Japan and I think Modelones is trying to jump on the bandwagon with gel puddling polish but when I saw another Japanese nail tech use it was a Japanese brand and it wasn’t streaky at all!!! It went on like butter!!

The color cube neons have been amazing! I dip the brush in base and it's so opaque. Also, the speed of ur brush affects the heat. I used LE Butter Creams for years so these are honestly better.

Their new GEL POLISH is amazing! The Quick Detatch base coat w/some "Tack" on the free edge is an easy 2 weeks on even natural nails. But damn...they are pricey $

I have used Modelones cream gel prior to watching this. Their brush cleaner makes a difference. I did only two coats with full coverage. I have also used Beetles for few years too. Both good options.

The light colors of the cream/pudding gels need three coats but only if using as polish. That being said, I am a huge Beetles fan. I am currently in a mani with one nail foiled that has now been on since Feb 15th that still looks like day 1...except for grow out. Beetles has an Amazing product when applied and cured properly.

Hi Marla, Another great tutorial. I am new at trying to do my own nails with dip powder. My nails are in terrible condition from going to salons. They are thin, weak, peeling and so short. Not even to the end of my fingers. I again have a question, with my nails in such terrible shape which would be better to help get them growing out. Dip or gel. It will take forever to grow them but I want my nails back. They used to be beautiful. Never should of started going to salon. Any advice on getting them grown out? I do want to say, I have been watching quite a few tutorials, trying to get ideas and yours are the absolute best. Your tutorials are great and very informative for products. For the tutorial you just did, I loved the beatle polish, then the pudding, I did not care for the gel. It looked too thick. Please keep your tutorials coming, I need all the help I can get and yours are the best! Thank you

Hey love! I’ve been there.. I’m sure most of us have! The key to growing out your nails are 1- time and 2- don’t break them. Lots of cuticle oil helps too. Here’s my best advice.. dip your nails. Keep that on as long as you can (as long as there’s no lifting). Remove safely and dip again. If you keep a set on for 2 weeks at a time, depending on your growth rate, you should have new nails in a few months! Just takes patience, darlin. But you’ll get there! Hi Marla! I tried the Modelones pudding gel and they turned out lumpy/bumpy after curing. My base coat (Adrade) cured fine, I applied a thin coat and it did not cure smooth. Some nails did while other did not. Same with next two coats. I did three thin coats so it wasn’t too opaque. Any suggestions? This is the second time I’ve used and didn’t have an issue last time, but last time I used the Maniboss Base /Top gel. I’ve not has this issue with regular gel polish. Any help is appreciated. I really love the colors! Thanks!

Unfortunately I buffed out the bumps as much as I could and covered with a couple of layers of clear gel, but if it happens again I’ll take photos. By the way, I bought the Gelish Top coat and it is amazing! Thanks for the recommendation! Appreciate you getting back to me. Perhaps someone else has had the same issue? I’ll keep my eyes open. Try a different base coat. They do recommend using the Modelones base coat. Maybe cure base coat longer? It went on smoothly but became bumpy after curing.

I’ve heard people say to use a small amount of base coat on your brush before applying the color an it won’t be so streaky. An one girl said warming the brush against the gel by going over it several times helps 🤷🏼‍♀️

You have to prime your brush with a clear/builder gel.. it makes the gel smooth without streaks..

I have been collecting and using buttercreams by light elegance for about a year, which I’m pretty sure these were made to be like? I love the buttercreams..I always cure my first coat (if there are any flaws or streaks), and buff them out before putting 2nd coat..I did buy these to see how they compare though..the buttercreams are very pricey

Gena, are the Light Elegance buttercreams HEMA free? I want to try this and I know Light Elegance is careful with their ingredients but I have horrible reactions to gel if I'm not very careful.

These kinds of gels are great for not flooding the nail and such but they're hard to get smooth and soild. I have some cream gels from another company and it takes me 3-4coats to get solid coverage with all the colors cureing between each coat so I don't pick up or move the coat below. I sometimes have to buff the nails and apply another coat or two to get it smooth. A couple coats of top coat helps to smooth it also.

I am horrible at dip powder but love your channel so I'm a gel polish girl all the way lol I will be trying the modelones pudding but not their polish in a bottle as I've tried it and don't like it. BUT, I do love beetles. I have tons of their polishes. You're nails came out lovely as always 💅

I just did a live on the Saviland pudding gels n had the same streaky problem. So I don’t know. But the Beetle’s is a very beautiful color. I enjoy using their products. Tfs

Wow those are amazing nail beds, I think they are the longest I've ever seen I feel so ripped off I have the tinest nail beds lol, I have medium-size hands and I'm a nail tech so it sucks. Personally, I will always veer towards Professional brands, like Light elegance, Akzents, Fuzion, etc BUT I totally understand the Models one and now Bettles have a place for the nail DIYer, I just wonder how safe those products are vs professional ones

As a DIYer it’s so hard to get the pro products. I’ve seen LE on a few sites that don’t require licensing but I haven’t seen the others! Since gel only cures in light, it shouldn’t ever dry out unless you leave it open under an LED for a period of time. I’ve had mine for about 6 months and they perform like brand new! 💞

I just use gel top or base to clean out the pigment. You can leave that gel top/base on the brush so it doesn’t dry out!

I wonder if it might work better without putting the alcohol on the brush. Think of it more like a gel polish and not so much a polygel. The alcohol is going to break down the gel slightly. I would go into the pudding with a dry brush OR even work the pudding into the brush a little before applying to the nail. That might help the streaks slightly. I’m saying this without any pudding experience but just thinking about the way gel works.

Because when you apply a potted gel color and use a brush, you are supposed to work the color into the brush a bit.

The directions say to prep /clean the brush with a clear gel. I found it helped application a lot.

use a different brush to help prevent streaks. longer bristles and hold the brush at a more level angle instead of pointed down.

I find it so crazy I have been doing polishing my own nails since I was 14 years old I am now 60 years old and I have never had a problem yet with gel polish regardless of the type I’ve used a cannot polish my own nails it breaks my heart 😢
