Love this song, Ginger Baker at his most sublime

One of my favorite tracks from this album, up there with Tales of Brave Ulysses and Dancing the Night Away. Foreshadowing Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac in that one.

I think that this song was the standout on the reunion concert DVD from the Royal Albert Hall. It aged well.

Well done for discovering this great song from the first "supergroup". I grew up in London in the 60s and they were one of my three favourite groups. The Jimi Hendrix Experience and the ORIGINAL Fleetwood Mac (with the guitar virtuoso Peter Green - not the later version of the group) were the others.

It was this direction that led Eric to bail. Ironic that then he thought Cream were too commercial but he would create a 53 year solo career doing nothing but. Fun Fact: Eric and Dave Brock from Hawkwind were roommates and he ended up playing a guitar solo on The Watcher from Hawkwind Road To Utopia (2018) album several years ago.

Yes, Excellent info fact of Eric and Dave Brock !!! I just listen to Hawkwind's great Live album "Space Ritual" one of my very favorites, as I was painting two rooms last week !! 👍🎶🎼

@@shyshift I hope you still have that 8 track it's very rare now !! The same year I got into them from my older Brother, The remastered CD of the album is really great !! As we all know about Hawkwind with the many vices and habits of the band in those days (Drugs & Drinks) every night was a different show and many not great, this concert they all seemed to be locked in the zone and all parts and sounds were caught on tape for this great Live album !!! 👍🎶

@@shyshift Oh that's to bad !! There has been a revival in 8 Tracks for their collectability even though the sound is not the best and there seem to bet a good musical part or solo just when it clicks to the next track !! Lol I still have have about 20 displayed on a shelf of my favorite ones..... Yes/ Genesis/ King Crimson/ Jethro Tull/ ELP/ Gentle Giant/ Pink Floyd/ Nektar/ Hawkwind/ Thin Lizzy

Bruce did a version of this song all by himself on the piano, once, for a documentary - one of those beautiful, emotionally racking performances that you listen to closely while bgecoming emotional. Hmm, this is an English version of the blues - others by Cream include Tales of Brave Ulysses, Deserted Cities of the Heart, White Room, and the raga-esque As You Said

I borrowed a video from the library some years ago, a 'Classic Albums' look at 'Disraeli Gears'. It also had a solo version by Jack on piano. Sublime. I couldn't find it this time. It used to be on RU-vid, i know i found it before.

My mom patiently bought me this album when I was 9 and I took it over to a friend of mine for a listen. Afterwards, we went outside for, whatever, and I left it on the roof of his moms' car in the garage. She left to run errands and, despite searching the neighborhood, I never saw it again.

I USED to own this album that I purchased many years ago and played the heck out of it. Every song, every single song. Then someone else took it and did the exact same. PEACE ☮️

One of my favorites off DG, it also displays fully Clapton's Famous " Woman" sound.

I think this is really beautiful, psychedelia going really deep. Clapton's guitar lifts it up in a special way, but of course all the elements come together perfectly.

Such a cool groove and vocals on this. Bruce and Baker did a song with Gary Moore that is basically the same, but with different vocals on their BBM album called Why Does Love Have to Go Wrong? Bruce's vocals are amazing on that song.

Bruce/Brown songwriting partnership (music & lyrics) is one of the best ever in music history. I strongly recommend you check all Jack Bruce solo joints, that he did right after Cream broke up, "Songs for A Tailor", "Harmony Row", "Out Of The Storm", unique music pieces from that time. Salute JP!

@jujurightnow

@@tammccoy4258 well, you are actually very right; Pete Brown was always Jack's lyricist but that's one that Jack wrote himself entirely. Hopefully that doesn't take away from my paragraph lol. I would still recommend people to check all Bruce/Brown collab work. Salute to you sir.

Many hours gazing at the album cover while listening as a grade school boy, playing along with toothbrushes on bongos. "Dance the Night Away" was my special favorite though. Bach had his inventions, and Baker had his inventions...and drumming has never been the same since. Thanks mate! Always good.

Didn't he also do "Anyone For Tennis"? I know some fans call that one a joke song, but if it is, then it's the greatest joke song of ALL TIME!
@-R.Gray-

@@robertwilloughby8050 At the time, I didn't know it ("...Tennis") had been written for a film, and thought that as a single release it was a terrible mis- representation of what Cream could do. I guess I wanted some hot guitar playing, and was disappointed by their appearance on The Smothers Brothers Show.
