Really helpful video. I was struggling doing almost the same collapsible sidebar menu but some of my menu items have also the accordion menu (the 2nd level), the main trigger is hovering over the area, not a click. During prototyping Figma constantly started to switch smth incorrectly or during collapsing chose the wrong variant and the menu item didn't collapse fully or run away from the screen. Things became very messy and I couldn't understand why. I almost gave up but tried to change the names of the child menu items inside a sidebar so they don't repeat and looks like it helped. I kept to your logic while building and now I think it's almost usable . Thanks a lot for such an informative video.❤❤
Thanks for the tutorial. One issue I faced was when I click collapse after implementing and putting into present mode, the selected nav bar item went from an active state to default (in collapse). I couldn't determine a better solution and was pressed for time, so I ended up recreating expanded/collapsed copies of the sidebar with each menu item selected so that it would work properly, if this makes any sense. Also I can't find the "Content" feature in Figma, as someone else was commenting below. Not sure if they removed it since this was made.
Loved this so much! Thank you for helping me get better at stuff I was never meant to do :) I don't know how hard this is to realize...but I would appreciate it so much if your keys were shown live on-screen to make it easier to understand the shortcuts. Keep up the good work!
