@@hectorluna1829Sadly no, Our house caught fire 10 days ago. We figure about 6 months before we'll be back in our house so at this time I've put it on hold. We're living in a hotel at this time but we are alive and grateful.
@@hectorluna1829Our house caught fire so I had to put everything on hold. The house can be repaired but everything was pretty much lost. But most of the things for ebay wasn't damaged but we are focusing on getting the house taken care of.
I have been wanting to sell for YEARS and you are making me feel more confident. Maybe I will start selling this month. (just trying to clean out my house). THANK YOU!!!!!
Same here I watched a lot of videos explaining things and kept with learning . Found out helpful info on looking up same as I want to sell in sold section 😃 . Working reducing clutter also by selling . Even have a thought look up your items pick closest distance and maybe a close buyer will meet and buy most of your stuff to resell .
I have an old account that I use on my computer. Recently, I uploaded the app on my iPhone. Now I have two usernames or two accounts. When I tried to upload my pictures direct from my cell phone to my computer didn’t work should I have the sameusername on my cell phone and my computer so they are in sync. Figured you’d be the man to ask.
Thank you so much for this video. We sold for ebay about 6 years ago and had good feedback but the platform has definitely changed. I’m very rusty but you explained it very well to begin again using our original account.
Thank you so much for doing this step by step tutorial. It has saved me time figuring it all out. Felt overwhelming until I watched this video. Appreciate it! Thanks! I enjoy watching your videos & learning more about selling on eBay.
Terrific video - thanks so much - amazing to me how quickly changes happen on ebay, but your pacing and thoroughness is terrific - better than any other resource I've come across - listing next - thanks!
I swear, as soon as I put a video out, the platform changes. lol I truly appreciate the encouragement. My goal is to create videos that are genuinely helpful to people.
You have become a wealth of information for me! I really value your credible trusting persona in providing the specifics of your topic. There are a lot of "E-Bay tutorial" type You Tubers but I have come to use yours as my primary resource. You convey a true genuine interest to want to help new Ebay sellers. Thank you for all of your hard work in putting together a fountain of useful Ebay selling content.
I truly appreciate the kind words. I trust a lot of the people in this niche. I really do. That said, I am also very grateful that you include me as someone credible. I genuinely want to help people. I couldn't do that if I came across as having something else as my primary agenda. So, thank you very much for the kind words.
Ebay has made it really hard because they put us on a 70 listing post threshold and we had to wait a month, and argued with them to increase. I even purchased a store and ebay would not budge on opening up our listing more than 70
@@TheChaChingKing yeah they have after a log of arguing and waiting. I get it. They want to watch over this process and there are bad eggs out. All we want is to sell our product and make chaching king type of money LOL. just kidding Scott
I hate eBay, all they care about is the buyers not sellers, I send something to a buyer late, I hade prove and everything, and they went ahead and charged me, I already had to pay extra for shipping now they are charging me, not caring how I feel
I’ll try this one more time. I have an old account for eBay on my computer and recently I uploaded the eBay app on my iPhone and tried to upload pictures from my iPhone to my eBay to list a new item but I couldn’t upload my pictures to the computer from my phone. I remember I have two different account numbers. I figured you’d be the man to ask what to do. Thanks in advance.
I don't use an iPhone, but you should be able to upload them anyway. If you can't put them directly onto your computer, try a web-based host like Google Drive or an Apple equivalent.
Thank you so much for this I'm actually watching it on my TV as I write this note to you I am a retired woman I am desperate for money I have lovely things to sell but I understand that you shouldn't put expensive things on eBay so you have given me a place to start and maybe the week after next I can actually put my bank information and on eBay and gather some supplies and sell some things whether it be clothing or small tiny items I don't know but I am desperate for some help and I do subscribe to a certain person that seems to be the queen of eBay learning and it's not getting me anywhere at all and I trust your advice so much more wish you would get back to me
eBay has provided us with enough income to bridge the gap between our retirement income and where we want to be. It's still a lot of work. It's not perfect. But it is doable. Try not to focus on your entire situation and everything that needs to happen. Just focus on getting where you want to be one step at a time.
Scott, Can you make a video about bookkeeping and filing taxes at some point? I've heard some people use special software applications for this, but I could use some advice from a veteran like you.
I have intentionally stayed away from that video simply because I don't feel qualified. I have a lot of trust in @notyourdadscpa Not only is he a CPA, he's also a reseller. I follow on RU-vid at youtube.com/@notyourdadscpa
Thank you so much for this video, great information and instruction. I have been listing since July, and just started making some sales. It took me awhile to get going, but it is finally happening. I have watched this video several times because I want to open a seller account for our small business and I have been nervous. I think I am ready to do it, I just hope it doesn't take so long to get some momentum.
You are so welcome! Momentum is really just the accumulation of movement. Getting started and moving forward is the only way to build momentum. You've got this.
i listed my first item and when it asked to verify my address it wouldn't let me keep my PO box. I was able to put it in during the set-up, but then I had to change it. Do you know why?@@TheChaChingKing
Thank you for explaining about the payment part...I haven't gotten to watch for a couple of weeks and was literally going to hop on the last video I watched and ask you about this in the comments❤️
Alright, let's do this. I'm recently unemployed and have stuff to get rid of. Seems like a good time to see if reselling is worth the hype. Edit: Created an account, but wasn't taken to a seller hub (I'm on PC). Could be the age of this video and Ebay has updated since then? Edit #2: Welp, regardless of the differences, I was able to follow along for the most part. Had to peruse the page a bit to find the stuff you were talking about. The only thing missing that is disappointing, there are no security question options for passwords. Anyway, thanks for the video. Nice having a guide when it comes to technical stuff. 🙏
Hmm...you might have to list an item first to access the seller hub. You can try this link and see if that helps. www.ebay.com/sellerhub Yeah, the security seems to be out-of-date. If there are updates, I'll try to pass them along.
Scott, Your series is great concise and well produced. You have taken out much of the uncertainty of using eBay and I am actually excited about getting started. But one question and I may have missed it, but what is the best way for eBay get our money to us after a sale? direct deposit to a bank account? credit a credit or debit card, etc.
I have one thing extra on my computer. Please I need to get answer what may I select it. ON THE BOTTON Ebay account, Subscriptions Edit your marketing communication preferences.
I have been watching you and excited to sell on ebay, newly created an account and they suspend it. Called them, won’t give a reason. Sad but I will try other platform. Grateful for you and will keep watching. Thank you for all you do😊
Something must have triggered it to suspend you right away. Sadly, when eBay suspends an account, they rarely explain why it happened. I think that's a major flaw with the platform. It's also one of the main reasons I cross post to Poshmark and Etsy.
When I was selling for Ebay I used the word "ivory" to describe a color and I got flagged for that as the ivory tusks that are illegally sold! Words like velcro, onesies, one stroke painting are copyrighted and you’ll be flagged for that too.
There aren't a lot of benefits, or even differences, to starting with a business account unless a tax professional is telling you that you need to. You can sell on either. You have to report the income on both of them. And, you can easily convert your existing personal account to a business one without losing any of your history or feedback. So, I usually recommend just starting with a personal account, or using an existing one, unless you have consulted with a tax/liability professional that has directed you otherwise.
Scott, here is what I would like to know. I am a Canadian eBayer. I would like to start selling coins on eBay to the US and Internationally but would require tracking to ensure that the coin arrives at its destination so that I will not have problems with the buyer or eBay. How can I do it by eBay or Canada Post especially since I would like to absorb postage.
I don't know much about shipping from Canada. But, I know that there are a lot of Canadian sellers who do ship to the US. Having zero experience with any shipping services outside of the US, I can't give you much direction. As far as absorbing the cost, you just need to incorporate it into your price. You might try the eBay shipping calculator and see if it will work from a Canadian location. It might also give you options for shipping. www.ebay.com/shp/Calculator
I may of missed this, and im sorry if i did. But Can i put my paypal account on my ebay when selling stuff, so they can pay right away, and deposit the money into my paypal instead of a bank account.
Not any more. Sellers have to use the eBay managed payment system. I hated it at first. But, honestly, at this point it's better for me. I still get paid every day. It's pretty seamless for me now.
@@TheChaChingKing how do you get your money out of the ebay payment system. I do not what to put my bank account info on my account, can i have it send it to paypal
I don't think you can use PayPal anymore as your primary depositor. For what it's worth, I created an account just for eBay about 12 years ago. I've never had a single issue with security related to eBay....nothing remotely problematic. @@djzman
Maybe create a new bank account just for eBay. So it's not connected to your personal life. Just to be safe. Most business owners have their personal bank account and a separate bank account for their business. Then just pay themselves: withdrawal from business account, deposit to personal account. That's my basic understanding, anyway.
Hi i created a ebay business account but i didn't pay for any membership plans as a business but my stuff is still listed do i need to pay for a membership fees even though my stuff is still listed
No, you really don't. You don't have to pay for a store subscription to have a business account. I wouldn't pay for a store subscription until you know for sure you want one. I'll link a video I made about that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hb_nhQMyNfs.html
thanks my friend, wonderfully explained! I have been looking to get started with selling for years, but was always apprehensive and intimidated by the payment method for some reason. i guess because theres so much fraud and scamming going on these days, it makes you think twice. Anyway, do you have a more detailed video tutorial where you focus more on that aspect alone? I don't know if paypal is available as an option and i've had bad experience with zelle for wiring money into my bank account, so not thrilled about that option... thanks again for the great video!
I don't have a in-depth tutorial for the payment plan. You have to have a US bank account tied to it for deposits. PayPal isn't an option for receiving payments. That said, I've had 17K sales on eBay alone and have never once had an issue with my bank as a result. I like the eBay Managed payments much better than running it through PayPal as a middleman.
I tried to set up my old account for use of a seller. Everything went fine, then 5 minutes later I was permanently suspended. No explanation no second chances. I can’t even buy or anyone in my household. I believe it was because I logged in while my VPN was on. No recourse. I have since researched and there are many horror stories like mine. I went through the verification etc and still suspended.
Apparently it’s a bigger problem than you know. I agree it is probably not the age of the account. But, I know for sure that I am not a risk to their company and clients. If you Google eBay permanent account suspensions you will be shocked. So many heartbreaking stories about people losing their source of income without explanation. I was going to start buying my shipping equipment through eBay as my first step to get started and then I was booted out. The silver lining for me is that I didn’t spend that startup money. I will be looking for other ways to resell since eBay is no longer an option. Glad you are enjoying a great success. I have a background in retail and inventory management and was so excited to start my business at eBay. But, I think the Bots and eBay team thought I was a threat due to my VPN that masked my location. Lesson learned.
Hi Scott, so I started listing on my account, but I never did it on Seller’s hub, bec. i am not aware of the seller’s hub yet until I watch your video. So pls help me what to do next pls. Scott? Is it better and safer to just use my existing EMAIL when I first signed up or do I need to create another email and create a new Ebay account since I am just starting. I need help Scott. Thank you.
eBay does not require you to have a business account to sell. So, you don't need that for eBay. As far as Australia, I honestly don't know the rules and regulations for there. I do know there are some Australian sellers on RU-vid. This might be a question that @backfromburnout could answer.
Question: I have an old eBay account that I’ve had for years. I have sold on it in the past a long time ago. How do I change my bank account information to my new bank card? It wants the old bank card number which I don’t have anymore and cannot find. Help!
great video. do you have a video teaching how to create a small business selling account that hides my person info (home address and phone number)? I like the way you explain things.
hi sir, first of all let me tell you that you are doing a great job. Sir can we convert our individual seller account to buisness account or do we have to create a new account for buisness.
Hi Scott, first I would like to say thank you so much for keep sharing helpful videos and make us motivate to pursue our dream. Do you a video how to set up business account on eBay as sole proprietor? Thanks again.
By default, when you begin selling for profit on eBay, you are a sole proprietorship. So, there's nothing on eBay's end that needs to be done...no real video for me to show. The requirements vary so much from state to state that I truly don't have the knowledge to address what is needed. In Texas, I picked up a reseller tax certificate, but even that isn't required. @@gracejackson7069
please help...tried to issue a refund to a buyer because i accidentally rubbed off printing on a keychain collectible;...I shipped it anyway and decided to give a full refund and let the buyer keep the item; finally found out how to do it on ebay, but it won't accept it....took screenshots....do you have any idea why I can't submit the refund....(the package was mailed today, June 12th) thanks for all the great teaching...been on ebay since March of this year....be blessed coming and going out Carla
I have an individual account. Do you have to have a store account to get the seller hub? I have sold several items and my seller account does not show anything.
They are just ensuring that you are who you say you are and that there is an active account to make deposits into. They are required by law to reports sales in excess of $600 per year. It's really the only way they can do it.
If they put a hold on, there would have been a message. Perhaps it was accidentally deleted. Is it a new account? It's common to have a hold placed until you've connected a bank account
I am a new user on eBay and I'm trying to sell and I go to hit payment option to add my bank account and all it's giving me is an option for credit cards or debit cards do you have any clue what I am doing wrong
Hi I am a new seller (in fact I haven't start selling yet). I follow you and I have learn so much. I just want to double check some information. I have an account as a buyer, if I have this account I can used it as a Seller. Is that right? Thank you, Maritza.
Help! I am not getting the first HUB screen that is supposed to pop up. I have looked for it on my old account and then started a new eBay account and neither one showed it. Will you please help me find it?
Thank you so much for such a detailed video . Just one question , when registering a new ebay sellers account , can I use a virtual address ( not a PO box , just a virtual street address I have got for ebay ) when filling in address as I do not want my home address out for privacy reasons ? Kindly guide me on this please . Also, if I register as a business type of account , can I use personal bank account , or is it must to have a business bank account while registering a new ebay seller account . Thanks so much for your guidance and time .
The virtual address should work. Ebay probably isn't going to come out and say it's OK, but it's all but impossible to stop. Businesses everywhere use addresses that are separate from where the owners live. You typically do not have to have a business bank account. It depends on your bank as much or more than it does ebay.
@@TheChaChingKing : thank you so much for your prompt reply . Just wondering if ebay will be verifying that virtual address at all if I put that in case of my own home address ? Will having a virtual address while first registering my account cause any problems in the verification process of my new ebay account ? Can somebody out there help me e bay is not easy to use I have been trying for days to create a sellers account it's making me really ill now. It's to bloody difficult.
The videos will be imperfect simply because the platform changes all the time. One minor change can trip you up. You might be able to find someone to do an individual mentorship. I started RU-vid, in part, because I didn't have the time to help people individually. You might also reach out to eBay for Business on Facebook and let them know exactly where the problem is occurring. They may be able to get you over the hump.
@@TheChaChingKing Thanks for this I can't seem to get an angle on how this thing works. And I open up.the page and don't have the foggiest idea of what to click on. Thank for for the quick response...I'm not familiar with instagram.... couldn't find the prompt for attachments to send you the screenshots...however when I tried to msg you I couldn't because the prompt said this acct doesn't accept new msg request from everyone... lol
Top left of your screen, click the down arrow just under your name. Then click Account Settings. Then , click on Personal Information. It should be the second option.
I have an old account but do not want to use it. Will I have to make a different email account or can I just make a new account with my same phone number and email?
You need to reach out to eBay for Business on Facebook. I don't have any experience unlocking a suspended account. But perhaps they can guide you. Hopefully they can tell you why it is suspended so that you can fix the problem.
Thank you for your helpful videos! Is there anything specific that needs to be set up if you are planning on running your eBay selling business with another person, such as your husband or adult son? Can you both have access at the same time in order to receive any notifications or messages that need to be handled?
Melody and I work together on the same account. Pretty much, anyone you give your password to can work on it. Mel is often logged in on her computer at the same time that I am without any issues at all.
I'm not sure that you can. I had to have a bank account when I signed up with the new account. Unless something has changed again, which is possible, I don't think that only having PayPal will work.
Make sure your store is active every day. List consistently. Make sure your prices are competitive with similar items that are selling. Most money is made when you buy. So, make sure you're buying items that will sell.
@@TheChaChingKing so I don’t have to pay them upfront first before I can list my items. They just take their fees from my account before I withdraw it. Cuz I want to start a small Apple AirPods sales for around 99$ and I don’t have the upfront fees. Thanks
You will have to supply banking information so that you can receive payments. And you will need your social security information so that eBay can file the mandatory tax reports.
I'm good! This one was just 5 day ago. 😀 I try to do one a week. This one is just a bit slower because my inlaws had some Dr. appointments that changed our schedules. I appreciate you checking on me.
@@TheChaChingKing it's great to know that eBay doesn't have any restrictions. So do I need to repeat the whole process again for opening the second store just like I did on 1st time. I'm sorry for asking many questions.
eBay doesn't allow you to buy or sell your eBay account. It's against their terms of service to transfer ownership of an account. I wouldn't ever try it.
You can. There are a few rules you have to follow. eBay has some tips and tricks for it here: www.ebay.com/help/selling/posting-items/setting-postage-options/drop-shipping?id=4176
No, sorry. I am just spread too thin to do any one-on-one mentorships of any kind. I've created the videos to try and help as many people as I can. But I just can't do individual requests at this time.
@@TheChaChingKing pls do a video on how I can deliver ebooks and other digital products. Because I plan to sell ebooks on eBay And I am confused about the delivery process
Are you getting that message? It's baffling to me why eBay would do that in the first place. And, it isn't consistent. On this very account it allowed me to use the Seller Hub. It was brand new when I listed this hat. The last two new accounts I've created to teach from have both been allowed to access the Seller Hub right away. So, I know that it is supposed to have to have one sale, but it hasn't made me do that when I've created these accounts.
@@TheChaChingKing I am not getting a message. I found the statement in eBay Help “Seller Hub”. Also, while I know the 2019 book, “ebay for Dummies” doesn’t hold much validity, the author states, “ I do want to preface this chapter by warning you that the My eBay page has become the hub for the zillions of features that eBay offers. As a beginner on the site, you’ll be doing yourself a favor if you stick to the basics of the buying, selling, feedback, and account settings. eBay’s offerings are helpful, but they can do a heck of a job confusing you when you’re just starting out. Ease into the extra options slowly.”.
