I have never seen such a variety and beauty of plants in my life, and it's nice that you said that the wild bird loves these types of plants.🌱. Thanks 🙏
That’s the wrong porter-weed species, that one is an invasive species, the native one is more of a ground cover and has light blue flowers with less veined leaves, just a common mistake I made
Thanks for the info, yeah porterweed is sometimes tricky, it often hybridizes ( S. x Intercendens). On invasiveness, the invasive council-FISC, has only a "caution" note (Class II). I for one, have some issues with FISC assessments on plants, I think they are getting a bit too carried away / restrictive on some plant use recommendations. Plants grow and evolve. Its nature. My stance is that only when an NFC starts to to see encroachments of non natives , then should we worry, not before. And I feel we need even more biodiveristy to take on the challenges of climate change. Hybridizations is natures way to address some of that. Hope this helps explain it a little more. 😀 🪴
Yes, yes, coontie will do well in Tampa area. My sister lives Northeast of you and she has lots of coontie doing great. And the atala buterflies your coontie will attract will thank you!!😀🪴
Great video! I have a small yard I need to fill up with more native plants in Kendall. Have sunshine mimosa as a ground cover, lantana, and porter weed. Need another small tree to go with my Simpson stopper I'm trying to grow as a small tree.
