Create a Retro Long Shadow Text Effect in Adobe Illustrator 

im new in using adobe illustrator. Im wondering why yo didn't simply use shape builder tool? it seems easier done that way or is the video done mainly to showcase this particular technique? what is the advantage of using this one?

this was unnecessarily complicated. don't get me wrong I'm thankful for the tutorial but I couldn't help but notice how many of the processes could've been simplified

Every tutorial for this technique gives the same terrible jagged results - my does not look anything like this. It looks like a staircase ROFL.

Why do that nonsense in the beginning and not just create outline?

WAY ABOVE MY SKILLS I WAS COMPLETELY LOST WHEN GETTING TO THE LONG SHADOW EFFECT...i THINK THAT APPLYING THE 'SECOND' FILL YOU DIDN'T 'FINISH' THE FILL BUT WENT TO DISTORT AND TRANSSFORM, BUT I'M NOT SURE, YOU DIDN'T MAKE IT CLEAR ....

Very complicated. Coreldraw is more precise and easy when it comes to long shadow... etc.
