I'm so excited to be following along as these release! I haven't found a tutorial as concise as these yet and it's incredibly comprehensive in a way that sticks. Much appreciated!
Heya, thank you for the series! May i advise you, that at 5:55 you can use a "Event Blueprint Initialize Animation" then cast to the actor and save a reference variable. After that you can use the "property accsess" node to get ANY variable of that actor you want through a single access node.
I am having one slight issue that'll probably work itself out in your next tutorial but- the full attack Anim montage doesn't play for my enemy. It gets halfway through it and restarts the attack anim before completing.
You should make t-shirts to support the channel that say... "So... What We're Gonna Do Is..." Love it. Where do you teach? Is it online (outside of YT)? Thanks! Your videos and teaching method is fantastic.
Thanks for the video!!! I followed it but the enemy do not start following the player. I check the video again to see if I was missing something but I didn’t find anything. Any idea? Thanks!
Hello! I know this video is a little old, but I am having trouble with the nav mesh volume. I've been moving my actors up and down left and right and nothing I do will make him chase my player. Is there maybe a setting I should be checking. I've also deleted and readded all figures. I've tried on a new level also. He just stands there while my player runs around him. Oh I'm using 5.4 if that makes a difference
Took a fair while for us to figure it out. You need to set the branch to false at the "Stop Movement immediately" not true like the video. This is in the Event Graph of Enemy_Ai_BP
hi guys, it's not working for me- neither branch version from Brian's vid or from your comment :( i double checked everything and it seems to be all in place- my enemy character still stays in idle animation, can you advise what should i check please?🙏🏻
Could you please try incorporating 'walking along a spline'? For example, if there's an obstacle on the road, the character would walk around it instead of going through or jumping over it.
Sounds like your obstacle doesn't have collision set to block all or block all dynamic, go to your actor and click on the mesh and then in the details panel on the right side of the screen, scroll down to collision presets and change it to block all or block all dynamic and see if that works, its should.
@@BriankoGames Thank you for your response, however, that's not my issue haha. A video will explain it better: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cDRgE1QLUfY.html. You see, in this video, the archer in the bottom right corner is running and taking a "turn" instead of continuing straight ahead. It's this kind of movement that I'd like to add to everything you've already taught us!
@@sof9387 OK so what you mean is you want the game to play on different axis but staying true to a sidsceoller, eg like in the video where the play can move around the corner?
