Thanks so much. We love our Outback. We just topped 125K miles - and feel like it is just getting started. Unlike the "real" wilderness, we are happy with a normally aspirated 3.6L V6. No turbo to replace!
That '04 Forester was probably a beast. I can't say enough good things about those Geolanders. Great on the road and the trail. Thanks for the comment!
I agree. Lots of potential. I think if I took ours from 18s to 17s with beefier tires and a lift kit, that would really make it a much more capable vehicle. That's a good move. Thanks for your comment.
Great video!!! New sub here. Would love more videos. Like Capabilities off roading and what mods you like and wish you did another way. We just picked up a 2016 Outback 3.6 and love what you did with yours.
Our Outback is already almost 9" ground clearance. I talked with Cris about lifting more - but she didn't want to sacrifice the awesome ride it has. I think the ride would likely be sacrificed if we went that route, so we kept it where it is. Thank for the comment.
Nice job! I want to add a light bar on my '16 OB, 3.6R Limited so, I'm looking for a light bar and lights that can be used on the highway and maybe on fire roads. I'm in California and use my OB mainly for commuting to the Sierras to Fly Fish and stargaze at night. Thanks for the video, it was well done and informative!
Thank you so much for your comment. There are a few times a light bar would have been useful. The guard I installed makes it "light bar ready". Btw, we love the Sierras. We rented a home in Piedra and spent time horseback riding at Shaver Lake between visiting Yosemite and Sequoia/Kings Canyon. Will definitely be heading back!
Thanks for your question. Sorry for the delayed answer as I was traveling. I ordered the wrap on Amazon: VViViD Satin Flat Matte Stealth Jet Black Vinyl Wrap Roll with Air Release Technology (6ft x 5ft). I hope that helps.
I think those are oem fender flares which you can order from any subaru dealer.. Really expensive. You can find knock off flares for the outback on ebay for about 125.00 a set. Looks just as good.
Please take note of "Glenn's HardWired" comment, too. Using part E201SAL000, you can search for the OEM part - and it will likely run around $350-400. On Amazon or eBay, you can indeed find substitutes for around $125. While these substitutes may be sufficient (especially from a value proposition), keep in mind that they are not identical. I knew about the substitutes but was concerned about fit and quality - and spent more on the OEM product. But that's a decision you'll have to make. Sorry but I don't have an example of the substitute to do an exact compare.
I just bought a 2019 outback. I dont understand why people black out the trim and grill. Looks cheap and ugly to me. Wheels I understand but the rest in black cheapens the look of the car. Looks like a dollar store paint job.
