SUGGESTION: Please consider producing a part 2 of this video about exactly how you would suggest joining these beautiful squares together. A part 3 could be a final border you would suggest for surrounding this blanket.
I didn't want to kurb anyones creativity with giving set rules for these squares incase people wanted to join them diagonally or mix them up with solid coloured squares HOWEVER, if you wanted them exactly as they look in the thumbnail, I'd be tempted to either sew them together OR crochet them together at the BACK of the work - you can do any join you'd like though! 😃🧶 You could also keep going and make one large granny square blanket if you prefer? You could experiment with the colour changes to make all sorts of patterns! As for borders, again, I don't like to give set rules so literally ANY border you fancy really!
Robin, we all truly appreciate and enjoy your channel. You never cease to amaze us with simple projects, beautiful color combinations and clear instructions. We are the ones blessed by you. Thank you girl! Keep on crocheting!!!❤️😎❤️😎❤️😎
I love the magic ring, much easier than trying to find the space between the cast on stitches! Thank you for sharing all these wonderful patterns. I’ve just finished 2 blankets for my great granddaughter. 💐
I learned this pattern from a different RU-vid video, but I love how you put 2 chains in the corners instead of 1, I think it helps it lay more flat. I also really appreciate you showing the back, because I thought I was making a mistake by being able to see the color carries. You're an awesome and thorough teacher!
Robin, genius on picking up the carried colored strands to work over! Perfect tutorial, as always. I so appreciate your tutorials and teaching style. Your attention to detail and that you show the reverse side too.
My gosh this is absolutely gorgeous 🤗you have outdone yourself Robin 👏this is going to be a smash amongst crochet lovers I'am currently working on 2 projects with your granny square designs so Ill keep this for future use 💜 Thank You
Can't believe how absolutely stunning this is! You are such a great teacher Robin, I love your tutorials they're so easy to follow 😀 you just can't go wrong!
Hi Barb, For my squares I used: • Ice Yarn Picasso Rainbow 🌈 www.iceyarns.com/git/681/picasso-rainbow • Ice Yarn Baby Softly in White www.iceyarns.com/git/681/fnt2-42370
As always, you are an amazing teacher with such clear and easy to follow instructions! I have done tons of granny squares but this is really elevating it to a new level!
Love this design. I do a lot of granny square blankets and donate them and this will make a pleasant change. You are naver to old to learn. I'm 83. Cheers from N.Z.
I'm 60 and just coming back to crochet. I've never done anything but a granny square and only 5 or so since I was hmm was going to say 13 but 16 or 17 sounds right. I love this combo so.much I must make it. Would live king size but I bet I would go over 1 000 dollars! I'll make a cheap redheart king size some day maybe. But i want this shine !
May God bless you and your eyes. Seriously, your work is very, very nice. There is art and creativity. And your way of explaining is very, very excellent. I hope you will work for us. Always with these beautiful squares. May God grant you a thousand wellnesses. I hope, with your permission, of course, you will teach me how to connect these squares together. With many thanks, appreciation and respect ❤❤❤🎉🎉🙆♂️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️💯🌷🙏🤩🏵🌼
Just discovered your channel. I've been crocheting for nearly 60 years and I've learned something new - two videos and two new techniques! I'll give my knitting needles a rest and crochet for awhile. Thank you for your concise instructions. I'm looking forward to new videos and binge watching the old ones.
Wow!!! how lovely are these squares. A refreshing take on the traditional granny square, and what a clever way to reduce end sewing. Would look lovely for Chrismas done in white and red and green. You
Those are so beautiful! I have yet to make granny squares, since I’m still a beginner. Definitely going to start after watching your awesome tutorial! High five Robin!!!
I love your tutorials so much. Right now I'm working on your Puff Stitch Border Shawl! I love it. So easy with such beautiful results ❤️ Thank you for a new version of Granny Squares!
Oh Robin! Such beautiful work! You are a brilliant teacher, too. I am putting this granny square at the top of my list of crochet to try next. Thank you so very much!
The Picasso yarn is very seductive - and quite tricky to use! It's easy to work with physically, but one must find a pattern that showcases the color changes well. Otherwise, I think the result is an overwhelming jumble of very strong colors. This pattern uses the Picasso yarn beautifully. Thanks for this well-taught video lesson.
Carrying the yarn was easier than I thought it would be. I absolutely love this pattern. The timing of finding this video was perfect as my husband surprised me with rainbow yarn because I had mentioned how beautiful I thought it was. Didn't have a clue what to make with it and I came across your video. Thanks for making it! 😊
I would also love to see it! I have been playing around with continuing it but I am stuck on how to start each new row. Is each new corner meant to be the opposite color? Would I slip stitch until the first corner or would I start it like row 4? And then would I do 3 double crochets with the rainbow into the open space right before the corner or no? Lol thanks in advance to anyone that can explain it lol
I love making granny squares!!! This one is absolutely gorgeous, especially with that Picasso Rainbow yarn!!! You’re such an excellent teacher, and I love the idea of carrying threads along and crocheting over them!! You’ve done it again, Robin!!! Thank you for sharing this gorgeous square!! 💕🤗💕
Omg, I had to like and comment before even watching. I have to go through my stash and then watch with yarn at the ready because I love the look of this so much!
I received my Rainbow yarn this morning and crocheted a square using an ordinary DK white acrylic yarn, as I couldn’t get the ICE yarn you recommended. Once I got the hang of floating the yarns (CAL with your video), it was fun to do and looks great. I will do some more squares tomorrow - thank you for a beautiful pattern, and for explaining it so well that even this rookie managed it.
😲 omg, so beautiful! Robin your such an amazing designer and teacher. You are the fiber artist goddess... You amaze me...I love All of your work! Thank you for sharing and teaching...💜
This is beautiful. I have never carried yarn along so I will have to watch the tutorial about a dozen times before I make my attempt. I will do it even if it takes me many times. Thanks for sharing.😊
I'd be tempted to either sew them together OR crochet them together at the BACK of the work - you can do any join you'd like though! 😃🧶 You could also keep going and make one large granny square blanket if you prefer? You could experiment with the colour changes to make all sorts of patterns! As for borders, again, I don't like to give set rules so literally ANY border you fancy really!
I've just released a video with 3 different ways you can join these squares! 😃🧶 I hope that helps! X ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6z8cpynq_Bs.html 👈

You have brought simple, kinda boring granny squares to a whole new level. This color change and pattern is AMAZING! The possibilities are endless, thank you for a fabulous tutorial.
Can not wait to try this, I've been looking for a fun square to make for a neon blanket I have in my head! Just have to master joining something I haven't even tried yet
