The best sponge i ever found was from a pottery supply shop, it is an elephant ear sponge. It provides a nice small stipple. I used to shape sponges into a shape that was good for myself, well over the years commercial sponges fell apart while sea sponges have lasted for years.
I wonder if you used fabric stiffener on older doilies or lace could you use it as a stencil, spray the back with low tac rubber cement so it stays put. Hmm another idea to try
Darn. I missed the live. I wish we eased into Summer here in AZ. 100 degrees dropped on us like a bomb. That came out so pretty. I can't wait to try it.
When you say one part milk paint (which is a powder) and one part water, I'm not sure how to measure those. When you do your demos, you use your eye and experience to get the right consistency, but I think that is intimidating when you're first learning how to do something.
