Hello, very helpful tutorial. Here's a friendly word of advice though- the letter Z is pronounced zed in English, not "zee"! There is no letter "zee" in the English language. 😊. Keep up the good work 👍.

Have no doubt you are a great dude, but from minute 2 and onwards, you clicked a bunch of buttons and adjusted, not explaining WHY you clicked those buttons or what their purpose is. Perhaps I am too much of a rookie, and I will wear that gladly, but saying "then you click frame 96, then you use offset z, offset x and y, set a keyframe on zero and then....".... Again - maybe I am the issue, but sadly this taught me nothing. I can try to emulate what you did, but it will not teach me how to do it next time. Perhaps you have a more in depth "beginner" tutorial you could have namedropped at the start? All the best though!

Hey CliffhangerDK! First of all, I seriously appreciate all the constructive feedback and criticism, so many thanks for that! This part is getting a little longer I guess, so I hope you (and potentially someone else who sees this) will read through that to understand why I do it the way I do it - and please, this is just my opinion and not an "offensive" statement! I got all my expertise and knowledge in editing from watching videos - whether these were free on RU-vid or actual paid courses. The thing is, with shorts and the rise of a generation with the attention span of a piece of paper who likes to get every little step pre-chewed will certainly not teach anything by just watching. What I found for myself is that whenever I watch a tutorial on whatever it is, I actually follow all the steps (in this case) in davinci resolve. That way I will not only learn at a better speed, but I also get a better understanding of different functions within the program - and that's exactly what I am trying to achieve with my tutorials. I don't want people to just watch it and then forget about it ( no matter if I explain why I click this or that button or not ) - because by the time they try to emulate this without the instruction from a tutorial, they have absolutely not clue on what to do. I want people who watch my videos to open resolve and follow along with the tutorial, because doing it is the only way to really learn something for the long term. But back to me: Whenever I watch a tutorial and follow the steps and am at the "final result", I like to experiment - what if I change that value? what if I select this button instead? What effect has this on the final outcome? Doing so will give an even deeper understanding of how the program and specific functions within work. Same goes for - and I get that comment a lot! - people who comment that they wanna see the final result first, before watching the entire tutorial. Now that might be an option, sure. But what would they lose by watching a 10 minute tutorial and following all the steps along the way? Right, nothing at all. Even though it might not give them exactly what they need, they now have a better understanding on how to achieve certain things and will probably be able to get what they wanted just based on the information a video gave them. That's exactly how I got all my knowledge. People have just gotten too lazy to follow along, they just watch and hope to remember this sometime in the future when they might need it. It has a reason that kids in school are forced to right down what the teacher is stating. I might be the only person who does this, but I also listen to an audio book while I read that exact same book at the same time, just because that activates more brain cells and I keep the information better - and that's why I think one should watch the video while following along on their end - because watching alone will not get you anywhere nor teach you anything.

@SebastianFriedrichVisuals Appreciate the in depth comment - thank you! You have a fair point, we also learn in different ways, and perhaps this style of video was just not compatible with my way of learning. All the best to you - will "shop around" in your videos at a later time. Will probably need another tutorial down the line, and clearly your usual viewers are happy :) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thanks for the tutorial! One mishap from me though is the fact that I can't edit the displacement of offset 1 (path 1) in modifier path tab at exactly 0 frames just as you did. It needs to have 1 frame for me to edit the displacement, is there substantial effect to this?
@SebastianFriedrichVisuals

Hey! Don’t worry, I got you! I assume you were talking about the second animation, right? If so, you are right! On frame 0 I just changed the starting point by bringing up the green box to the top left of the viewer - the keyframe is already generated! Now I went onto gene 24 and dragged down this green box all the way and now you should see the path appear as a line!:) Hope this solved the issues you were facing!:)

hi.. i am a beginner.. thanks for great video .. the part i didn't understand is while the two title were created separately how did you put it in same video.. is it to stack one title above other on video timeline ?
@SebastianFriedrichVisuals
@SebastianFriedrichVisuals 2 месяца назад
yes, if you want to combine titles, just stack them on the timeline on top of each other!
