Congratulations by the video lesson. It helped a lot! Could you confirm if the Contabo has a limit to the number of emails sent per minute? Because the hostinger (competitor) allows create email server on your vps, but it has limit sending 5 emails per minute.
Thank you so much for this video! I have a computer at home that I want to turn into an email server. Can you please make a video showing how to set it up (open to using any Linux distro) and then connect it to a VPS through a VPN (preferably Wireguard though open to others). With this setup, I could opt for a cheaper VPS service, as all I need is for it to serve as a relay so I can establish reverse DNS and have a static data center IP address. I will also maintain full control over my data and not have to pay monthly for upgraded storage capacity. As far as I know, no one has made a video on youtube showing how to set this up from start to finish so your help would be much appreciated.
@@webshanks Hi, thank you for replying to my message! Just enough storage to run a Debian-based os and then install VPN software like PiVPN. Maybe 10 GB of storage unless a VPS allows one to deploy a standalone VPN and then allows me to establish reverse DNS. Also, the VPS specifications would be driven by the minimum requirements of the VPN software. I want the most affordable VPS whose job is only to serve as a connection relay to establish reverse DNS and a non-residential IP address.

@@philippek1823 yes so that you can add a ptr record. There's also an option using cloudron where you can use 1 ip for multiple domains. I've also created a tutorial for Cloudron.
@@philippek1823 you can install one per server to avoid conflicts of functionalities and dependencies. Cloudron free version will let you have 2 web applications whereas hestiacp is free and open source. You can host unlimited apps. But both have SMTP functionalities.

I used the same contabo ubuntu vps that you used in the video but the console came with that error. I also followed your video with the fastpanel cp and everything was good till i needed to add an ssl so that my url will not be an ip, it shows its ssl was added but my domain name does not get me the page when i add it to the url

Hi, IP and domain warming up is still the best practices you need to do before sending out mass email. But if you already have a list of subscribers, warming up is not required.
@@cleamsmalefort8583 in that case you only need one SMTP server. Contabo VPS allows 25 emails per minute and Racknerd unlimited. Both have open port 25 so that you can send out emails. What SMTP server do you want to use? HestiaCP is great. You can also create websites along with email server.

Yes this also works as SMTP server though it is a web control panel. This is one of the many features of hestiacp. Sending limit would vary per server. For contabo it has 25/emails per minute sending limit while hostinger allows 5 emails per minute.

Which SSL? Do note that DNS propagates within 24 hours. If you cannot issue an SSL, wait for at least 24 hours. And be sure you have added proper DNS records.
