i remember this song from when I was 12 ,I'm now 31 and I lived a bad life style. just now I come to see that I want the lord in my life and I'm happy for once in my life. my body mind and soul was and it's done with hate and evil. I'm a new man a man of god

During the American civil war there was a guy call sankey he wrote many songs. One Christmas eve while on guard duty in bright moonlight a soldier from the other side in the shadowers had oportunity to shoot Sankey but when he began to sing a song his mother would sing to him many times as a young boy he thought ill listen and shoot him when he is finnished. But to his amazment at the end of the song he had no stentgh to lift the gun and shoot. Sankey was D L Moodies song leader and many years later on the delaware river Sankey was singing the song The ninety and the nìne. When he finnished a man came to him and asked if he served and was on duty on Christmas eve of that year and have he said yes why is that. Well he said so was i and iwas going to shoot you but when you sang that song my mom used to sing to me i could not raise my gun to do so. Then all these years later i hear you sing again. He said to sankey would you help me find peace with God. Sankey gave him a big hug and they prayed. Even though i have just seen your cry to God for help i want to tell He is always there. I wandered away from God for so MN e 20years but when i finally turned for home He was right there and get as been by my side ever since. He wont leave you or forsake mate. Gods blessings always

Thank you. We cannot serve God without a clean heart... and we need reminded daily that only Jesus can make our hearts clean through his blood shed for us. The wonderful thing is that, like king David, we can experience that clean heart even if we have fallen far from the Lord and the closeness we once knew. Though we fall, we shall not be utterly cast down. Thank you God for your undeserved Mercy and Grace and for the faith to believe.

In 2008, A few months after my wife left, 2 little girls. I was trying to survive with so much debt and child support. Then my 1st girlfriend left who i poured my remaining heart into. I broke down crying. My broken spirit was talking by groans only God understood (romans8:26-27). I fell asleep on my knees and woke up with this song (on repeat) in my head "create in me..." and i felt totally at peace. Even maybe excited, I had what i need including family& friends.

As a western parent you see what happens if you give your kids everything they want -its never enough, pout more.

I'm trying to learn more about Jesus in the old testament especially in Exodus 25 and many others but really it's really joy to read the Bible and understand that the same Jesus in the new testament is the same Jesus in the old testament from genesis to revelation. First heard this song about 30 years ago performed by a man by the name of Chris Hellman (not sure of the surname). My brother and I recorded it on a TDK cassette, and since that time, this Psalm plays in my heart every-time I fall and cast my burdens before God asking for his grace, forgiveness and mercy.
