Hi teejay nice to meet you good to know you’ve got a 2nd income going for you… I still trying to figure out a 1st income due to poor infrastructure in my country do you mind sharing a book bolt account with me I can’t afford it and it takes a longer process to do this kind of low-medium content books I could really use your help right now so I can make Christmas special for my family
@@paulmarles thank you. It’s always exciting to see the actual content creator respond. 😊 I promise I’m always able to watch your videos step by step and learn and I’m so appreciative to that so thank you again so much.
This video is full of excellent information. Everything discussed in this video is very clear and very well explained for easy and better understanding. Thanks for taking your time to share such an amazing video with us
Currently working on my own KDP journey, your content is really helping out, about to publish my first coloring book very soon and build up from there! The journey will be fun and succesfull!
Nice, thanks! I think you are the first one who has shown the whole process with Book Bolt Studio. The rest of them were showng with the designer, which is not helpful to us who have Book Bolt Studio. Thanks
Thanks Paul, your videos are always packed with outstanding info that actually helps. I'll be using your link to join book bolt. It's the least I can do to help your channel out.
Great video! Thank you! Is there a way through Amazon KDP to print a stockpile of books to have on hand? I want to have mine on Amazon but also give stock to a few local stores to sell. Thanks in advance!
I figured it out. But under the Max Words per Page the lower the number = the size of the puzzle (grid)? I'm aiming for kids between 4-6 and I want the letters to be big enough for them to read. Thank you very much.
Hi! The K in CMYK stands for black and it is better for printing unlike RGB which is better for screens, either way I find they it doesn't make a big difference, it depends on the printing method and the colors.
Hi Paul! Thanks for your videos. I'm trying to create a 2000-word word search using chatgpt but I'm in trouble with duplicate words within and between the themed lists.
Good morning!!! I have a question..... lets say I make an intererior for a puzzle book 120 pages..... after it is saved is there a way that I could select say 12 pages of the interior and make it its own pdf so I could sell it as an activity download for teachers for daily work for their students.... or combine it with other pages from other interiors that i have created before to make a combo activity setup ?
Hi Paul, I've just started using Book Bolt & can't seem to get past the 'not enough words' error when making a word search. The options available also seem different to those on your video. Any help would be much appreciated!
It is often becasue you';ve selected too many pages for the number of words you've submitted. E.g. you've submitted enough words to create 10 puzzles but have selected 11 or more pages.
If my book is published on Amazon do I need to do anything to make it visible to customers like advertising or so or would it be automatically available
When I upload the file... and put in the metrics, then submit... It keeps saying "not enough words in CVS file" I have about 255 words.... I tried to modify a few times, add more pages, etc. not sure what's off here? Have you run into this?
@@paulmarles Yes, it's weird. It is a CVS file... when I upload it and go to submit, it just says not enough words in CVS file, but when I did a test and selected like 5 pages to upload it went thru and downloaded those 5, so something must be off. If I have a 100 pages, or select 50 pages to download puzzles to, how many words should you have ?
I've made an activity book in Canva and uploaded it into a file for the book. Do I put the pages in the correct order in the file before sending - or can I upload to Book Bolt and arrange the pages there?
Freeze when? If it's during the upload to Book Bolt then you would need to contact Book Bolt support. They are often very helpful with those types of issues. There maybe a problem with your file which is very difficult for me to advise on just from your message.
Thank you my friend, for this excellent video. Question, how do I add more pictures to my Amazon low content book listing? I already published my first low content book but Amazon only used 1 picture for that, the main book cover. Thank you
Is it right to mention that we must not put a space in between 2 words as this puts a blank in the word grid where a letter should be, just a thought to mention, as I have just discovered why there are gaps in the gris. Gotta go fix that now. Cheers Paul.
Hi Paul! Just found your channel and am learning a lot! At the very beginning of the video when you show word search books on Amazon, under the listings there is information, such as the ASIN, Price History, Keepa History, etc... How are you seeing this? Is it an extension you installed? Or do you see that when logged in to your KDP Amazon account? Actually... never mind. I just saw your video where you explain that! :)
As always your videos are great. But I have a question. I purchased Book Bolt yesterday. (You discount has expired) I want to create a word search for 1st graders, but want my "grid" to be 10 by 10. I can't find anywhere to do this. Are we stuck with the grid they offer or is it changeable? Thanks and take care. Mike
It appears they are only limited to the grid they offer. I can't see a way to change it. Their customer support is very helpful and may be worth asking them in case I am missing something. Thank you for letting me know re. the discount code
@@paulmarles Thanks Paul. I appreciate the information. I couldn't find a way either. I did find some software called Instant Puzzle Generator by Cloudorka. They offer a great deal of flexibility. They also offer a maze generator, math generator, and time telling generator. I've used the math generator several times and it works great especially if you have the upgrades. Really enjoy the videos and watch them several times. Keep up the great work!
Paul it seems I am always asking you questions. I am in the process of making some word find books, However I am wondering if you can use song titles? Movie titles? And if you are doing lets say produce and you use 10 different kinds of apples are words like Granny Smith, Envy, Red Delicious, etc trademarked. I have looks for hours and cannot seem to find any answers. I know your not a lawyer but I was hoping maybe you knew this answer. Thank you for always answering my questions.
With song titles and movie titles it would probably be an issue around copyright. Here's a link that may help: www.thelaw.com/law/are-song-titles-lyrics-protected-by-copyright-or-trademark-law.317/ . I think most apple names would be ok. Dpeends on how old the name is I would've thought.
@@paulmarles Hi Paul. Thanks for the great videos!! How about historical peoples names? e.g. ex Presidents. Is this fair gae as their names are in the public space? Thanks again
Paul, I can't thank you enough. you are a God send. I found you yesterday and watched 3 videos I think the first video was Affinity Designer as I am also interested in doing digital templates, then I saw your KDP and got addicted. Last night I did the Canava tutorial and did my first book. I watched the publishing video but have not published my book yet. Can I use book bolt for other languages for example Wordsearch will the answers be created too? I'll definitely use your code for the book bolt. You are so honest and genuine and not trying to sell anything while you sharing your knowledge and teaching us. Thank you, Paul
Hi Halima nice observations and I appreciate the readiness to work do you mind sharing your book bolt account with me Because I can’t afford it and it takes a long process to create puzzles using other platforms thanks 🙏 😊
New to this! I'm trying to create a 100 word search puzzle book. I entered 100 pages. All the puzzle pages loaded, but no solution pages? How many pages do I enter? Tried to increase the count and it said not enough words??
@@paulmarles tankiu, and do I have to fill tax ID when I create my KDP account or I can do it later to publish my first KDP book? Cuz I dont have my Tax ID yet
One thing I'm really trying to do. Adding a frame (image) around the word puzzle. There's the SKETCH function which adds this background supposedly but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?.
i noticed a lot of the top selling word search books are saying "for relaxation and stress relief" in their subtitle. Is that OK for the KDP terms and conditions, or is that actually considered making a medical claim, and thus is subject to banning if KDP finds out?
I'm constantly getting 'not enough words' when I upload my CSV. How many groups of 10 words did you use? I have 10 groups, each with 10 words in, and it's still not enough! I have no idea how to get around this!
Should a blank page be left between each puzzle so that one puzzle is on the front of a page but it's a blank back (like a coloring book)? In this case, if we have 50 puzzles, would the solutions also only be on the front of a page? Thank you.
Hey Paul - another great video - one thing I noticed is Boo Bolt is randomly printing the answers after the puzzles rather than in the same order as the puzzles - is there a workaround for this?
INteresting. I;ve not come across that problem. For software issues like this you would need to contact Book Bolt support who are usually very helpful.
Paul - really enjoyed your videos. One thing is bugging me on the Word Search one, when you move the solution pages to the bottom you then have blank pages. As far as I can tell you can’t just delete the blank pages as this can screw up the content. Grateful for comment on how to deal with the blanks pages. I realise I could put something else on them, but not ideal in the middle of Word Search. PS I’m a ‘newbie’!
The way I do it is calculate beforehand - how many solutions per page I'm going to have and how many puzzles and then adjust the numbers until it comes out to around the number of pages I want to create and then create the book cover dimensions from there.
When you put in the number of pages, do you have to add in the solutions pages too? For example, if I'm making 60 puzzles do I make a 60 page book or 120 page? I'm having trouble with this. When I do 60, I get no solutions. When I do 120, I get the error message that I don't have enough words.
I'm working on my second activity book, but I'm so nervous about how it looks after it's printed! I ordered a copy (waiting for delivery), but I'm wondering how to make sure my images stay consistent after editing and resizing, regardless where I get the them 😓. I'm not computer savvy at all. Can you (or someone) point me in the right direction? Am I even asking the right question? Well, just finished the video. Book bolt certainly seems easier.. but I'm not at subscription level yet 😅
@@paulmarles thank you! I'll study up on that. When I zoom in on my interior images, some parts looked pixelated which of course I didn't notice until afterwards. Hopefully I selected the right settings. It looked ok in preview, but I'm still nervous I messed something up along the way 😅. Appreciate the videos! ❤️
Awesome video! Thank you. I have a question. There are holes in my word search due to spaces between words like "Merry Christmas." Is there any way around that?
Paul. I have one more question. I created the solution pages as you suggested, the only issue I have now is trying to delete the extra blank pages at the end. How do I do that?
@@moneyquest9919 Hi. Yes. Check your spaces before and after the words, so there are no gaps. As far as pages, I decided to fill the additional ones with mazes. Hopefully that helps.
I was doing well with the list but now I’m concerned about using certain words like ‘Cinderella’ or ‘Cadburys Roses’ Should I just avoid these branded words or is it ok? What’s the deal with song Lyrics… 😣😅
Hi Paul, Thanks for all the knowledge you share about KDP. I just started writing my first book and paid for book bolt subscription but for some reason, it's still acting me to get a pro to access the resources. Am I doing something wrong?
RGB for web (pngs are always RGB.) CMYK (K is black. Lol) is for print. A .tiff can be transparent and cmyk for KDP. I think I read that KDP needs CMYK? Maybe not if yours has always been ok. Thanks for your vids.
Thanks for the video. I tried to make a book with word search puzzles in Bookbolt. It turned out that depending on the length of the words this service decides the size of the grid itself. I set it up to have 20 words in each puzzle. As a result, Bookbolt generated a different number of rows and columns in each puzzle! I got so that out of 50 pages, part of it was 15*15, another part 16*16 and even 1 puzzle came out 20*20! (I contacted Bookbolt technical support and they confirmed that I cannot set the grid size on my end, the program does it automatically.) How do the buyers of the book feel about that? How do you overcome such difficulties? Thank you
Yes that’s true sir I have actually create a notebook with the help of your video they just accepted it this morning, it’s live ,it’s actually not easy with phone ,I just hope I make sales with that cos to get PC here for myself isn’t easy so I will have to work harder with phone , Thank you sir
Paul, i think I need some kind of database to store all my words generated. To track when the words were used, volume number etc. can you comment on this and give any advise?
Hi, I love watching your videos Paul. Did you ever try making another puzzle in bookbolt, like missing vowel or mazes? I am having trouble with the missing vowel puzzle, I put the words in and it tells me I don't have enough words and I have 205, you shouldn't need that many words for that. I also get the words invalid template page params. There is a dropdown menu that has 40, 60 and 80, I am just getting started and am having trouble. So far all I've made in bookbolt is a few word search puzzles. If it isn't too much trouble could you please help
I haven't tried the missing vowel puzzles yet but I'll take a look at them. If you're having problems you can always contact Book Bolt support, they are often very helpful.
Often that occurs if you select a number of pages to fill but don't have enough words to create the required number of puzzles to fill those pages. So you would either reduce the number of pages or increase the number of words to create more puzzles.
Dear Paul thank you for your videos and all your teaching :) do I understand you right that if you make 100 pages of christmas word search and you need 10 for each page. Then you have to have a total of 1000 words in your Excel sheet? or does Book Bolt reuse the words if you only have 200 and you still can have 100 pages book? Thank you :)
Hi Paul, love your videos but I tried to follow along with this wordsearch creator but when you sign up for the basic $9.99 Book Bolt subscription trial, the 'WordsSearch' option is greyed out as it requires 'Pro Access'. Do you have to have the Pro subscription to create Wordsearch books?
Hi Paul, thanks for this. Do all the words have to be single words or can they be word phrases, if so do they need to be written as one word in the list or as the word phrase, eg, christmas time. / christmastime ? thanks
@@paulmarles , that makes for a lot of long words with Christmas in front of them. Thank you, it has been hard to find evidence of this anywhere so i'm now wondering if its a good thing to do.
Hi Paul, I created and published a Valentine's Word Search. I recently received my author copies and think the book looks really good. Unfortunately, I did not sell any copies. I think I will keep trying since I enjoyed the processed. However, I have a question. My chosen author name is not listed on the cover or inside the book. I guess I thought Amazon would add it when printing the book. Should I be manually including the author name on the cover and on an inside cover page or is an author name not expected on a puzzle book. Also, if I need to add it manually, should I update the original book or will that lead to some type of problem. Thanks for your help and videos.
An author name on the book wouldn't be expected so I don;t think there is a need to put it on. Yes, if you decided to do it you just update your cover and then re-upload it to your original book and if will just replace the old cover.
Your video is awesome! Now I have followed your guide on the solution highlighter and I’m getting an error that no solution is found. Can you explain how I can fix that?
Great tips...I use BB a little different-the cover for ex and I recently figured out how to cut an image like you did with the tree 🫢 Easier for me, I started a diff way but love you tutorials. TY for sharing 🙏🏽
Thanks, for another great video. Paul, some puzzle-making software allows you to screen for offensive words. In particular when the spelling is reversed. Do you know if this has that feature?
Hey Paul ! Thank you so much for sharing such valuable information with a huge audience ! I have a question : Are all these graphics that you used like word search grid, santa images and all, are they copyright free and do they allow commercial use ?
I really want to make a puzzle book, but I'm worried about duplicate copyright and trademark issues. I'm afraid that I will lose my account, word search book look almost the same on every page, only the words
Add graphics to the pages or add a quote that is relevant to the subject of your puzzle book to make it different. I'd advise you to come up with a different quote on each page and maybe a few different graphics, but make sure that the quotes are not copyrighted.
They have the license page on their site which explains what you can and cannot do. You have to check each image you use as some may be on the big stock photo websites.
Hi Paul, I just submitted a Word Search book yesterday and wanted to add my own personal experience. For me, the most time consuming part was formatting the inner pages and making sure the cover looked presentable. As for the formatting, you did not point out that the provided words are all converted to lower case, regardless of case in the .CSV file. To convert all to upper case, select the words, then choose the capitalize function in the menu provided. And speaking of the .CSV file, spaces are not required because BookBolt knows to select the next set of words after the first puzzle is illustrated. For example, if you have a list of 1,000 words, and the puzzle is configured to use 20 words for each puzzle, it knows to provide the first 20 words, then use the second set of 20 words for the next puzzle. In addition, I found it to be more accurate to record the size on one of the solutions, then plug those numbers into the other solutions so they are all the same size and uniform.
You are the best. i have been watching others explain the same video you are doing, i didnt learn anything. but you explain it clearly . tks a million.
Hello Paul. thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. just wondering if anyone has experienced problems deleting pages, using MacBook pro? the right click function doesn't seem to work when I want to delete a page from my design...
@@paulmarles yes. and i managed to find the solution. it's a double finger hold plus the control key simultaneously to delete pages. In case anyone else faces this issue... thanks Paul!
