Nor can I yet here I am, lol. Many regions of the US are above 50% HOA, and new houses are 60% and new subdivisions are 80%. Add in considerations like price, amenities, commute, crime rates, school ratings, etc. and it could easily top 90% HOA.
I wish I did when we had trashy nasty neighbors move in nextdoor. They trashed up the place, the yard turned into a junkyard spilling over into our yard, tell them about it and they try to send their son out to kick your butt, and then the roaches started showing up (seen one in the house) and I went postal and pulled out the chemical warfare, that was the last roach I seen in this house, luckily not long after that they moved. But the HOA is to keep that from happening, keep the neighborhood from turning into a ghetto, trash dump. Unfortunately a bunch of Karen's are in control and ruined it.
@@madmax2069 yep, unfortunately people can’t be human and HOA’s spring up as a way to combat that. A trashy neighbor may not be a big deal in rural areas with distance between properties, but when people live in plain view of one another I totally get why an HOA might be the lesser of two evils in many homeowners minds.
