Thanks @Christian B for the tip on going into the Advanced tab on the left side of the material editor and then changing the end color value from environment to Diffuse. (def worth a try) Also you also can change Glossiness to roughness here, I meant to mention that as well!

Nice Work, very good ... thank you!! ... but ... I want to mention, that there is a little "problem" with the new "RS Standard", when it comes to metals. The metals behave in dark areas, quite unrealistic. If you change the value "End Color" under "Advanced" in material editor to "Diffuse" instead of "Environment" ... all metals looks better. Greeting!

@@effectatron You're welcome! I'm a little bit angry about the new material updates in the 3.5 A new "RS Standard Material" what isn't "Standard" ... cause the "plus" creates the "RS Material". A lot of Cinema shaders doesn't work with the new node editor. Some Materials open with the Material Editor, some with the node editor. (the converted ones) ... some with the old node editor, cause they need some old shaders. Additionally the (in my eyes) wrong "end color" value. ... na ... not so happy.

Excellent tutorials! I was trying to do brushed materials on a cylinder top and doesn't get circle brushed texturing , could you please advice me, thank you

Change your UV projection mapping from UV to cylindrical

@@helalsstudio1843 using cylnder will just make sure to rotate it. of just select the top and add a mat to just that and set it to spherical

Where do you get the object you are putting your material on? I would like to follow this with the same object. I also don understand how you can change the material by selecting the materials in the browser, a cool way to preview materials.

Hi I am running R19 and I cannot work out how to install your fab materials packs ( just down loaded) into cin4d is there a tutorial?

Hopefully you can help me with this problem. Every time I try to render a scene or something with C4d and redshift, ive been getting "waiting for shaders to compile, this may take some time" and it takes 15mins. It starts about a month ago but it is sooo annoying and I have no idea what I can do about it, or find out what it is. It was not doing this a month ago. I tried searching for this specific problem and I just can't find the solution. Help? :(

Love your videos! One thing, does it take a while for gumroad to process new "products"? I'm trying to download the materials from your gumroad, but it does nothing when I press on "get". The product also doesn't show up (yet) on your gumroad profile itself

18:16 :) Simply click Create inside the Asset browser then import and select the zip folder. It puts it in the uncategorized, you can copy and paste it to wherever you like.

Redshift and the asset browser should work the same on Mac. Open the asset browser click create then import and choose the zip file.

It is not in the new Node editor, it is in the Redshift legacy node shader graph.

@@jeremyfrye3965 interesting. I would suggest redownloading the zip. I can't tell if it's an error with the location of the download or an error with access to your drive that your asset browser is stored on. Could be a privacy setting on your C drive stopping it from allowing it to add it to the folder.
