Which opc server you have? If possible, please install kepware kepserverEx to have opc component. This will make sure you have opc component installed.
i have one PC running on (SCADA)gateway protocol 101 to send data to remote location .... can i use this method on this PC to log data on excel sheet .
Yes you can do if it is OPC Server on that PC. You can use COPC32 on Excel or on Visual Studio to getting data from OPC Server and logging to excel sheet.
how can i know that it is a OPC server( don,t know about OPC server). My PC running on Windows xp and PACIS gateway (schneider) software to fetch data from field PCs for sending data on 101 protocol on RS232 port..... how can i know that there is OPC server runnig.?/ thanks
+Hamza Rguig Do you mean only one OPC server available? If yes and you have many OPC Server, please checking is it any DCOM config needed for that OPC Server. If you connect to local OPC Server, it could be available on OPC browser as default. Please use OPC Quick client to check. Download OPC Quick client from kepware.com
